The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Events team in a newly created management role, building on four years of significant growth and success across our mass participation programme.

As Mass Participation Event Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the programme while driving continued growth in income, participation and supporter engagement. You will have responsibility for the development, performance and delivery of the mass participation portfolio, working closely with the Head of Fundraising (Community & Events) to grow income, participation and engagement.

Alongside this overall responsibility, you will have direct ownership of your own area of the portfolio, including the Great North Run, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon, Cape Town Marathon and our wider challenges programme. You will manage these events from recruitment and participant onboarding through to fundraising, event-day delivery and post-event stewardship, while supporting the Head of Fundraising (C&E) with our flagship London Marathon.

You will also line manage the Events Junior Officer, who will have direct responsibility for their own allocated events. You will provide leadership, direction and support to ensure their events are delivered successfully and contribute to the wider mass participation goals.

This is a senior, hands-on role. You will be expected to lead the development of the overall programme while remaining directly involved in the day-to-day delivery of your own events. This includes recruiting and stewarding participants, developing campaigns, managing budgets and suppliers, speaking directly with supporters and being hands-on at events. 

Key Responsibilities 

· Strategy & Growth: Grow the mass participation portfolio, increasing income, participation and engagement through insight-led planning.

· Supporter Recruitment & Stewardship: Lead recruitment campaigns and deliver excellent supporter journeys from sign-up to post-event stewardship.

· Event & Portfolio Management: Manage allocated events end to end, including budgets, logistics, suppliers, event-day delivery and major event support.

· Team Management: Line manage the Events Junior Officer, providing direction, support and oversight across their events.

· Systems, Insights & Reporting: Use CRM and performance data to monitor KPIs, report on progress and inform future activity.

· Collaboration: Work across the Community & Events team and wider organisation to deliver a strong, aligned mass participation programme.

The Engagement Events Manager plans and delivers cultivation and stewardship events that meet and exceed our engagement objectives. Sitting within the Philanthropy team, the Engagement Events Manager builds strong working relationships with colleagues across Fundraising and the Trust to deliver successful and inspiring events. The role is responsible for delivering and managing a variety of events, from webinars and receptions to dinners and VIP tours for our high value fundraising team, including major and principal donors, trusts and foundation and corporate partners. Work alongside the Head of Philanthropy to develop and deliver the high value events strategy. 

Key Responsibilities

•  Lead on the inception, development, project management and end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of bespoke events for our charities. The events programme will maximise donor cultivation and stewardship opportunities. Including, but not limited to: dinners, receptions, round table discussions, lectures, VIP tours and online events. 
• Prepare and maintain a project plan for each event, and manage multiple, competing deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. 
• Manage budgets, milestones and KPIs to monitor and respond to performance. • Provide regular event status updates to the senior and fundraising stakeholders, and to flag risks and proposed solutions well in advance. 
• Grow and enhance our cultivation and stewardship events fundraising programme and deliver an excellent portfolio of activity based on audience insight and feedback. 
• Prepare and deliver event briefings for assigned events, providing briefings for internal and external stakeholders, including board members, trustees and VIPs. 
• Lead project group meetings for events, with both internal and external stakeholders. 
•  Respond to enquiries from staff, patients, donors, potential donors and suppliers. 
• Advocate best practice across the team by preparing meeting materials and following up with comprehensive minutes to ensure good communication. 
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration during the event process, including personal assistants and external suppliers. 
• Measure the impact of all assigned events through evaluation and strategic follow-up activity, keeping templates up to date and fit for purpose. 
• Contribute to the wider fundraising team, taking a proactive approach to working in a high performing and collaborative team. 
• Supervise staff and volunteers at events. 
• Work in a hot desk environment, at least two days per week of meaningful time in the Foundation’s office, plus time within a hospital or other sites as required. 
• Create policies and templates regarding events at all levels and audiences. 
• Be the Engagement Events subject matter expert to advise fundraisers and the wider team on how to deliver impact through events and align individual events to the overarching events strategy. 

Role responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you would be reasonably expected to take on wider tasks that are commensurate with the level of your role. 

Skills, abilities, and attributes: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to plan and deliver projects within budgets and on time with attention to detail. • Computer literate (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel).

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications: 

• Experience of delivering successful event/project management in a fundraising environment, including planning and delivering a portfolio of events/projects to meet targets and within budget. 
• Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. 
• Knowledge of digital events tools such as webinars and/or online community platforms.
• Knowledge of a Fundraising database (e.g. Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce). 
• Knowledge of fundraising regulation (e.g. Fundraising code of conduct and GDPR).
• Understanding of NHS Charities or healthcare fundraising.

The National Lottery Community Fund is recruiting for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, a key role in our External Affairs Team within our Communications, Impact and Influence Team.  

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape our stakeholder engagement during an exciting time. You will position the Fund as a convening force in civil society, advancing community priorities through evidence-based advocacy that demonstrates how our funding strengthens communities.

Using your insight into the sector, you will work with colleagues to map and manage priority stakeholder relationships relevant to our missions and the impact of our funding. You will develop targeted engagement strategies to strengthen and diversify our stakeholders, delivering key activities including communications, events, briefings and meetings to support the development of these relationships.

You will identify and act upon opportunities to demonstrate the impact of our funding on communities and how it aligns with relevant and influential stakeholders and organisations. You will have strong project management experience, with a robust approach to tracking relationships and managing stakeholder data, ideally through the use of Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) systems.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong communications and engagement background, as well as experience in working with senior level stakeholders. Ideally you will have had exposure to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors. You should excel at building relationships with diverse stakeholders and be adept at navigating complex external environments.

Key responsibilities:

• Map and prioritise the Fund's stakeholder framework, identifying key influencers and decision-makers across sectors, ensuring an effective cadence of engagement (making it clear who are we talking to, when and why)
• Design strategic engagement plans that align stakeholder relationships with our missions and corporate plan, as part of the Fund’s integrated communications strategy
• Coordinate high-profile events and engagement opportunities that strengthen the Fund's position in civil society
• Lead a range of stakeholder communications, including newsletters, bespoke emails, meetings and briefings.
• Lead the creation of stakeholder toolkits and narrative materials that enable senior leaders and colleagues to engage effectively
• Build measurement frameworks to evaluate the impact of stakeholder engagement activities
• Provide expert counsel to colleagues on relationship management and influencer engagement
• Maintain the SRM system and support colleagues across the Fund to use appropriately.

This is a permanent, part-time job-share role working Monday and Tuesday. You will work closely with the existing Community Engagement Manager, who works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, providing an important overlap day on Tuesday. 

The role covers the whole of the South of England, including London. You will help strengthen community connections, support volunteers and local groups, and build relationships with organisations and stakeholders across the region.

We are recruiting an Evidence Engagement Manager to join our Evidence Services: England and UK Portfolios Team. This is an important role in delivering our Evidence and Impact ambitions. You will act as the link between funding portfolios and the wider Evidence and Impact team, improving how evidence is used across the funding cycle and helping colleagues make confident, evidence-based decisions.

Working closely with portfolio teams to understand their priorities, challenges and decision-making needs, you will identify where evidence can add value. This could include evidence to understand community needs and support assessment of applications, to shaping major funding programmes, supporting monitoring and evaluation practices and supporting decisions at leadership and committee level.

You will translate user needs into clear evidence requirements, commissioning or coordinating the development of products within Evidence Services, across the Evidence and Impact team or externally. Products can include:

• Data analysis and insight reporting
• Interactive dashboards
• Literature reviews and evidence syntheses
• Theories of Change
• Systems mapping

You will help build evidence capability across the Fund, helping colleagues access and use evidence more independently through self-service tools, guidance, support and development. This role requires a strong understanding of how evidence can be applied in real-world decision making, alongside excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills, supported by a breadth of evidence and analysis knowledge.

•To proactively build and maintain partnerships with relevant organisations particularly those who work with vulnerable families to co-produce and collaborate in developing resources and programmes to reduce infant mortality.

•To build relationships with local professionals in order to support local campaigns to reduce SIDS deaths, sleep related accidents and infections in babies.

•To ensure the Lullaby Trust’s work reflects the public health agenda across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

•To work with the Policy and Research Manager reviewing external health and social documents/policy.

Design and deliver training

•To be lead the Training Team Working Group and chair meetings.

•To lead and work to deliver the training strategy by creating and promoting evidence-based online training packages aligned with public health priorities to a range of professionals working with families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death which enables confidence to have meaningful conversations with families. 

•Plan, develop and record online webinars and presentations for families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death and on bereavement support in line with the Training Strategy

•Use national and local data to create and deliver training packages which is responsive to need, SUDI and safeguarding reports and investigations and CDOP themes.

•To meet and liaise with outside organisations to deliver showcase training packages.

•To ensure training is evaluated and adapted/developed

•To work with engagement team to ensure training is promoted.

Create and assist with development of online and printed information resources particularly aimed at those vulnerable to sudden infant death.  

•Assist with checking accuracy of safer sleep info posts on social media and -participating in Q&As.

•Create resources specifically aimed at families and babies vulnerable to sudden infant death.

•Develop resources and tools for professionals working with families to have meaningful conversations and support safer sleep messaging.

•Develop resources for professionals that translate evidence and research into good standards of practice.

•Review and update website text and social media messages on safer sleep in conjunction with the engagement team.
