The successful candidate will spend their time delivering a frontline welfare benefits triaging service with the support of a senior caseworker. 

To succeed, you will need experience of advice work which includes using a benefits calculator and signposting. The role also involves managing our telephone and email inbox into the advice service and obtaining feedback about the service from clients alongside initial advice giving. The role could include some short-term casework including concessionary travel claims when capacity allows.

You will need excellent communication skills and be unphased by people presenting with multiple issues, often in emotional distress. You’ll be excited by the challenge of learning new things and have a good knowledge of the services used by disabled people.

This is a home-based role, with some travel around Barnet needed, approx. 2 days a month. Casework

• Under the direction of the Safer Churches Programme Manager to undertake strategic safeguarding projects and improvement work including polices and projects in line with identified business needs and operational plans. Developing initiatives to support the effective implementation across your designated area in order to ensure excellent safeguarding practices across the Diocese.
• Understand and implement, where necessary, information sharing protocols.

Role Context

As part of Gaddum’s Talking Therapies service, the PWP Supervisor will oversee the Step 2 service within HMR. This role will provide clinical case management and skills supervision to both qualified and trainee PWPs. The role combines supervisory and service leadership with a small clinical caseload and focuses on ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care and strong support for staff wellbeing and professional development.

Our PWPs will be completing training positions, including full participation in an accredited Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) or equivalent training in Low Intensity Interventions at one of our partner universities (e.g., University of Manchester, UCLan, or LJMU).

Role Purpose

The PWP Supervisor will:
• Lead on service development, training, and quality improvement
• Provide high-quality clinical and case management supervision to PWPs
• Support PWPs with clinical risk, complex presentations, and professional development
• Regularly assess and sign off all supervisees’ clinical competency for training and ongoing registration requirements.
• Maintain a small caseload, delivering low-intensity interventions where needed
• Liaison with educational providers of the training courses to meet the joint learning agreement

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice:
• Conduct assessments and deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions when needed
• Respond to clinical risk and manage urgent presentations, acting as a Safeguarding Officer for the service
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice in line with NICE guidance
• Contribute to the overall caseload capacity of the service in times of high demand

Quality Assurance and Service Improvement:
• Oversee outcome measures, recovery rates, and KPIs for the service, ensuring they are consistently met and accurately recorded
• Participate in clinical audits, data monitoring, and service evaluation
• Support innovation and continuous improvement within the service
• Complete quarterly reporting as required by the service commissioner

Collaboration and Development:
• Work collaboratively with Step 3 clinicians, GPs, VCSE partners, and university providers
• Contribute to outreach and promotion of the service across HMR
• Facilitate team learning, reflective practice, and training delivery
• Work alongside commissioners from the Big Life Group to achieve shared goals

Academic and Supervision:
• Provide clinical and case management supervision to the team of PWPs
• Monitor PWP trainees’ progress against learning objectives

• Support PWPs to attend and complete all training modules, assignments, and practical components of the university training programme
• Support PWPs to apply academic learning to clinical practice

The Role

Active Together is a multimodal prehabilitation and rehabilitation service that has been developed by world leading academics and practitioners at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) at Sheffield Hallam University and funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Supporting the Head of Active Together, as our Services Manager – Active Together Hull your role will be to establish, implement, manage, and support the continuing improvement of the prehabilitation and rehabilitation service for cancer patients at the newly developed Active Together centre in Hull. Acting as the non-clinical lead, the role ensures the service is safe, effective, and aligned with the Active Together service design while delivering value for money for the charity.

In addition to overseeing service delivery, the post holder will be responsible for managing the facility itself, including offices, consultation rooms, and three gym studio spaces. The role provides line management of the Service Administrator and supporting the Lead Fitness Instructor, ensuring efficient operational support for the service. Additionally, the post holder will organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a smooth transition into the service.

The role involves close collaboration with Hull University Teaching Hospitals (HUTH) clinical staff, working alongside the Service Clinical Lead to ensure an integrated approach to prehabilitation and rehabilitation for cancer patients.

Specifically, you will:

Leadership & Service Management

· Oversee the launch and ongoing management of the Active Together prehabilitation and rehabilitation service in Hull, ensuring smooth implementation and continuous improvement.

· Work closely with HUTH clinical staff, fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure effective patient pathways.

· Partner with the Service Clinical Lead to maintain alignment between clinical and non-clinical aspects of the service.

· Lead collaborative working across the service delivery team, maximising colleagues' skills, ensuring clear direction, and maintaining high-quality processes.

· Collaborate with the Digital Teams at Yorkshire Cancer Research and at HUTH to manage and develop IT systems that support the safe and effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the service, including telephony, hardware, and software.

Line Management & Administrative Leadership

· Provide line management of the Service Administrator and any other administrative support colleagues, ensuring clarity in responsibilities and professional growth.

· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, set clear objectives, and support colleagues in achieving their goals.

· Ensure efficient administrative support, covering scheduling, patient coordination, and facility management.

· Promote a positive and collaborative working culture within the administrative team and broader colleagues working in the service for Yorkshire Cancer Research and HUTH.

· Ensure that all charity policies, standards and operating procedures are communicated effectively to all members of your team and are maintained and followed consistently.

Onboarding & colleagues Integration

· Ensure that all equipment is available to be able to operate the Active Together Hull Service environment

· Working closely with HR to organise and manage the onboarding process for new Yorkshire Cancer Research colleagues, ensuring a seamless transition into the service.

· Provide structured induction, ensuring new colleagues understand the service model, policies, and operational procedures.

Evidence, Research, and Development

· Oversee data generation to support service evaluation and research.

· Ensure all service-related data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

· Gather patient experience insights in Hull through PPI work, patient satisfaction questionnaires, and qualitative evaluations, feeding into service improvement initiatives.

Facility Management

· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Active Together Centre, ensuring optimal use of offices, consultation rooms, and gym spaces.

· Ensure facility safety, compliance, and upkeep, liaising with building management as needed.

· Manage procurement and maintenance of essential equipment and resources to support service delivery.

· Lead on the management of contractors and service providers (including but not limited to, shredding, printing, office greenery).

Other duties

· Provide cover as required across the team to cover annual leave, sickness absence and training

· Be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal and manage the rota for First Aid and Fire Marshal cover

We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Manager to join the BMHH team on a one year fixed-term basis. During the fixed-term period, the post holder will lead on reviewing, strengthening and developing the peer support pathway. You will play a key role in shaping support for our clients that enhances quality of life, choice and opportunity. Purpose of the job

 You will be an important member of the Senior Management Team, supporting the CEO to drive income growth. About you

As the Service Manager for our night shelter service, you’ll be at the heart of Glass Door’s mission, delivering the largest network of night shelters in the UK.  This pivotal role offers you the chance to make a real difference by managing a dedicated team across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality, consistent service that supports our guests to build a route out of homelessness.  We’re looking for a dynamic, proactive leader with a passion for problem-solving and a compassionate service delivery.

What you will do as part of our team

The Service Manager is responsible for the following:

Service delivery 

· Lead all aspects of the planning, preparation, and delivery of the night shelter service. 

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, directly engaging with staff and guests to ensure high-quality service delivery. 

· Ensure operational policies are consistently followed, providing guests with a reliable and uniform service experience. 

· Manage the rota across three night shelters to maintain adequate staffing at all times. 

· Manage a fleet of three vehicles used for the night shelters, ensuring their availability and maintenance. 

· Ensure all staff are fully aware of service provisions, requirements, and expectations. 

· Lead the continuous improvement of the shelter service to better meet guest needs. 

· Ensure due diligence is performed, and that reporting and records are accurately maintained.

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Senior Research Manager to manage the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities of a high profile National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio of translational, clinical and applied health research infrastructure funding schemes. 

Job Purpose 
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the post holder will work closely with the rest of the infrastructure team (especially the Programme Leads and Senior Research Managers who are responsible for the development and management of the infrastructure schemes), and with Data Analytics colleagues (who are responsible for designing systems for capturing, cleaning and presenting data), to manage the infrastructure reporting and evaluation activities. At an award level, you will develop, improve and maintain monitoring and reporting processes, and at a scheme level, you will implement monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches, including overseeing the delivery and/or commissioning of impact evaluations. You will support a wider programme around visibility and the strategic use of data within infrastructure, considering links to policy directives around Busting Bureaucracy, the developing NIHR digital strategy and system operability issues with NHS and University systems. 

You will be adept at dealing with an array of data sources (metrics, narrative and financial reporting information), have a good understanding of research impact, an understanding of the routes to achieving it, and how to apply monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches to generate insight that can evidence impact and support continuous improvement of scheme funding and support processes. You will have experience of managing complex projects, knowledge of the UK’s research environment and political agenda, and honed skills in stakeholder management. You will be a strategic thinker, capable of seeing the issues and solutions from a number of different stakeholder perspectives to see the bigger picture. You will be comfortable dealing with complexity and developing an approach to balance the needs of different stakeholders. Key Accountabilities:

• Manage elements of the infrastructure monitoring processes: you will manage parts of the infrastructure reporting process both internally at the technical systems level and externally with users to support training and propose improvements. You will work with others to develop new reporting processes (for new awards), maintain existing annual and quarterly reporting, support the review of submitted reports by the team and the production of feedback, and drive process improvements through a continuous improvement cycle.

• Development of reporting outputs: support quantitative and qualitative data interrogation in projects across the infrastructure. Interrogating data to support strategic reviews, and, where feasible and appropriate, designing visual dashboards of progress using data collected and collated for reporting purposes. Also draw on award level reported data to feed into strategic scheme level evaluations and reviews, to produce impact case studies, and to feed into organisational level learning and reporting. This work will help articulate the contribution of the NIHR infrastructure to the wider health and social care system as well as feeding into broader NIHR initiatives such as the NIHR Impact Programme.

• Scheme reviews: support the delivery of scheme mid-term reviews and evaluations, working closely with the infrastructure team’s Senior Research Managers responsible for specific schemes and the central Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to design and plan an appropriate review process for individual schemes.

• Stakeholder engagement: through appropriate stakeholder engagement, developing a sound understanding of data needs, minimising additional requirements of key stakeholders and understanding the types of reporting outputs/feedback that would provide the greatest utility for accountability and learning purposes. Proactively share key learnings across the infrastructure team and with wider stakeholder groups as appropriate.

• Flexible support to the team:  flexible approach to work tasks with ability to ‘muck in’ and provide support on additional tasks across the team during busy times.

Line Management:

• The post holder will be responsible for the line management of one Research Manager and will matrix manage other team members, where appropriate.

Qualifications

Experience and Technical Skills

Required Criteria: 

• A PhD degree in biomedical or health sciences research (or significant equivalent sector experience)
• Experience of implementation or management of monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches including impact assessment and reporting, ideally within health and care research
• Data collection, collation and analysis skills using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
• Current knowledge of the UK’s health and care research and policy landscape
• Strategic thinker able to interpret complex information while having a clear view of the “big picture”
