About You
The Events Administration Assistant is responsible for supporting the Events Operations Manager with ensuring the accurate management of registrations, financial processes, documentation and stakeholder communications providing successful operational delivery of the Society’s full programme of events and will play a key role in maintaining high service standards for delegates, speakers and partners while supporting the smooth delivery of conferences and meetings.
The postholder will maintain and update event databases, including processing registrations, amendments and cancellations, process events payments, and provide administrative coordination for these events, including registration management, speaker communications, documentation and logistics tracking.
The successful candidate will have experience in a customer facing role with excellent communication and organisational skills and have excellent attention to detail.

Role purpose

Main Purpose of the Role
This new role aims to support the design, coordination and delivery of Action Duchenne’s events portfolio, including the Annual Community Summit, regional meetups, workshops, and online events. The role will ensure smooth operational delivery, high‑ quality participant experiences, accessible information, and effective logistics‑ and supplier coordination.
This role contributes directly to our organisational impact by ensuring families, young people, professionals and partners have access to engaging, supportive and well managed events. Specific Tasks
1. Event Coordination and Logistics

Support the planning and delivery of the Annual Community Summit, working closely with the Chief Scientific Officer, Director of Fundraising and Communications, and wider team.

Coordinate logistics for in‑person and online events, including venue liaison, catering, accessibility arrangements, equipment, travel, accommodation and schedules.

Ensure event details are accurately published and updated across relevant platforms (website, CRM, communications channels).

Manage registration processes for all events and ensure attendees receive timely, accurate joining information.

Support the organisation of regional meet‑ups and workshops, ensuring venues, facilitators and resources are in place.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As we grow, we are looking to recruit a Communications Officer to join the Communications team.
As our ideal candidate you will need to be in commuting distance to our Leeds warehouse, meaning you can travel regularly to meet with the team. This is a hybrid role based between the Leeds warehouse and home, with at least one day per week at the warehouse. Some travel to other locations may be required occasionally for events.
You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day communications admin and management activities that working in a small team brings and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this.
Alongside your Communications Officer-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of engaging and growing audiences in the charity sector, due to some of the specialities that come with this, such as understanding the donor experience as opposed to commercial endeavours. CARIS Families is a small charity that supports homeless families living in hostel accommodation in Camden and Hackney.We run play and learning activities for children aged 0-16 from within 4 hostels in these boroughs, as well as a school holiday day trip programme and an Essentials Bank to ease family hardship.Our services for children aim to reduce the stress on children and parents of living in overcrowded, insecure accommodation, and to put back some of the vital childhood experiences that homeless accommodation deprives children of.
We are currently looking for a trainee playworker who is looking to build a career working with children to join our dedicated frontline play team.You do not need to have any formal experience of playwork, but you do need to be passionate about working with children and supporting them to achieve their potential, and to be able to demonstrate this through previous work or volunteering experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, offering a rare entry-level role which alongside providing plenty of on-the-job training, will also fully sponsor their training towards the Level 2 Diploma in Playwork following successful completion of the probationary period.

Person Specification
We are looking for someone at the start of their career (or a career-changer) who is:

Experienced in working or volunteering within a play-based setting, with children between the ages of 0-16.

Enthusiastic about supporting children in their free play and facilitating adult-led activities that stretch and stimulate children in their development

Salary: £14 per hour
Contract: 12 months initially, with a three month probation period, and the possibility of extension beyond 12 months subject to funding.Training for the Level 2 diploma will commence after successful completion of the probation period.
Hours:12 hours across three days a week in term time (40 weeks a year), Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.Please note on Kids Club days the working day ends at 6pm.One day a week (8 hrs) in school holidays (12 weeks a year), days variable.25 days per year Annual Leave (pro rata) with an additional week off over Christmas.

Job Purpose:
The Communications Assistant would support each team within the Communications Department (Brand & Content, Digital, Media, Public Engagement & Mobilisation and Strategic Comms Planning) with administrative tasks. Duties would include (but are not exclusive to) support with uploading assets to the media/content database; support with the story library; support with project management planning; testing donation platform and QR codes; website testing, proofing and content updates; checking digital monitoring platforms; data/list cleaning in our email platforms; adding stories to Instagram highlights; assisting with media monitoring and logging; updating the journalist contact database; providing administrative support for events, mobilisation activity and internal communications, and organising the Communication’s SharePoint and forward planning calendar and meetings.
