Fundraising volunteers wanted to help East London Waterworks Park reach its funding goals
East London Waterworks Park is working to acquire a 14-acre, concreted-over depot on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, and to transform it into a ‘brownfield rainforest’ with wild-swimming pools and creative learning spaces for the local community. We are showcasing an environment-first, community-led approach to land ownership that will help nature and people thrive together, revolutionising the way we think about green and blue spaces in cities.
Our Crowdfunder raised over half a million pounds towards buying the land, but we are waiting for the landowner to make decisions about the use of the site. Whilst we wait, we need to raise money for the other work we are carrying out. We have an exciting programme of community projects and work coming up, including carrying out biodiverse transformations on other sites in London.
If you have experience of planning or running fundraising campaigns and would like to get involved with a local charity, we would love to hear from you. Perhaps you are buzzing with ideas of how to raise money or are keen to get stuck in and help to make some events happen. Maybe you are a good writer and seller of ideas and would like to join our mini team of funding bid writers. We would especially love to hear from you if you have experience of writing funding applications.
If you are a professional fundraiser and would like to help but are short on time, we would still love for you to get in touch. Even if you are unable to get deeply involved, we would appreciate one-off or ongoing advice.
We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
We meet once a fortnight online on a Thursday evening

Emerge Worldwide is seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Lead to lead — and actively deliver — our digital communications.
This role is both strategic and practical. You will design content, publish content, host online discussions and actively manage platforms.
You will lead and set clear strategy, direction and plans for Emerge Worldwide’s Social Media communications, create engaging content, supervise the Team and encourage community mobilisation.
You will work closely with the Communications Deprtamnet and colloborate with the Education, Events & Fundraising and Policy departments and external stakeholders.
Strategy & Direction
Design, create and publish high-quality digital content across platforms.
Work closely with the Communications Department to ensure:
Alignment with policy and campaign messaging
Collaborate with all Emerge Worldwide departments
Analytics & Growth
What are we looking for?
What difference will you make?
The Social Media Lead plays a strategic and safeguarding-critical role in advancing Emerge Worldwide’s mission to prevent grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
This role is not simply about posting content. It is about shaping narrative, increasing prevention, strengthening partnerships and ensuring that women and girls encounter accurate, trauma-informed information in digital spaces.
Through a clear digital strategy and consistent messaging, the Social Media Lead strengthens Emerge Worldwide’s credibility and national voice. A strong online presence builds trust with survivors, professionals, schools, corporates and policymakers — opening doors for training, partnerships and funding that directly support prevention and empowerment initiatives.
Consistent, high-quality posting has preventative impact. Educational content about red flags, online grooming, coercive control and intersectional vulnerabilities can help young people recognise harmful behaviour earlier. Parents, carers and teachers may identify warning signs sooner. Increased awareness can interrupt exploitation before it escalates.
Collaboration with the Communications Department ensures language is trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware. Sensitive issues are handled ethically, reducing the risk of re-traumatisation and creating a digital environment where survivors feel seen, respected and safe.
Cross-department collaboration ensures campaigns, policy work, education programmes and fundraising initiatives are amplified effectively. This leads to increased attendance at training, stronger campaign mobilisation, greater public engagement and enhanced funding — all of which contribute to tangible protection and support for vulnerable girls and young women.
By analysing performance data, the Social Media Lead helps Emerge Worldwide reach high-risk demographics more effectively. Data-informed decisions improve targeting, engagement and resource allocation, ensuring messaging reaches those most vulnerable.
In summary, the outcomes of this role contribute directly to early identification, public education, cultural awareness and increased access to prevention services. The Social Media Lead helps transform awareness into action — strengthening Emerge Worldwide’s impact in advocating for women and girls against grooming, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
To apply: Please submit your CV and cover letter/email

Are you driven by purpose over profit, and motivated to use words responsibly to shape public understanding?
Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C. is seeking a Founding Volunteer Creative Copywriter / Campaign Storyteller to help define how our movement speaks — with clarity, courage, and care.
This is not a commercial copywriting role.
It is a truth-led storytelling role.
Our C.I.C. exists to confront and expose the realities of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), centre survivor truth and accountability, support young people into economic empowerment, and build community-owned, open-source systems that serve people rather than capital.
We are:
We are not here to produce promotional content for clicks alone. We are here to communicate truth responsibly — building trust, inviting participation, and ensuring survivor-centred work is represented with dignity and purpose.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how a movement speaks in public spaces.
About the Role
As our Founding Creative Copywriter / Campaign Storyteller, you will craft clear, compelling, and ethically grounded written content to support digital campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement during our build and early growth phase.

Chief Operating Officer (Volunteer Role)
SUNSHINE Charity – Ending Loneliness for Londoners and Beyond
Do you believe no one should feel alone?
At SUNSHINE Charity, we’re a grassroots, volunteer‑powered start‑up building something bold, hopeful, and deeply human — a movement to end loneliness for Londoners and, one day, far beyond. We’re at the very beginning of our journey, and the foundations we lay now will shape everything we become.
To build a strong, stable, and compassionate organisation — one capable of real, lasting impact — we need someone extraordinary.
We need you!!!
Why This Role Matters
Loneliness is silent, but its impact is loud. It affects mental health, physical wellbeing, confidence, and hope. Every day, thousands of people in our city feel invisible — and SUNSHINE exists to change that.
But meaningful change requires more than passion. It requires structure. It requires systems. It requires operational leadership that ensures everything we do is safe, effective, and sustainable.
As our Chief Operating Officer, you will help build the engine that powers SUNSHINE. Your leadership will ensure our people, services, and projects run smoothly — today and as we grow.
Your work will help someone feel less alone.
What You’ll Lead
This is not just a role — it’s a chance to build something meaningful from the ground up.
You will:
Design and oversee SUNSHINE’s operational framework, ensuring we run efficiently, ethically, and sustainably.
Develop systems, processes, and policies that support volunteers, services, and organisational growth.
Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to turn strategy into action.
Support and coordinate teams across the charity, ensuring clarity, communication, and alignment.
Lead on risk management, safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance, ensuring we operate safely and responsibly.
Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Help shape the long‑term operational vision, ensuring SUNSHINE can scale with confidence and compassion.
This is a role for someone who believes operations are not just logistics — they are the foundation that makes impact possible.
Who You Are
You’re someone who:
Loves bringing structure, clarity, and organisation to ambitious missions.
Believes deeply in kindness, connection, and purpose.
Has experience in operations, leadership, project management, or organisational development.
Thrives in start‑up environments where initiative, creativity, and adaptability matter.
Understands how to build systems that support people and empower teams.
Wants to help build something that will grow long after the first foundations are laid.
Is motivated by purpose — by the chance to make a difference that truly matters.
Most importantly, you’re someone who wants to help create a future where no one feels alone.
Why Join SUNSHINE?
Because this is your chance to:
Shape the entire operational backbone of a brand‑new charity.
Build systems that help people connect, grow, and thrive.
Work alongside passionate, hopeful, determined people.
Know that your leadership directly helps end loneliness.
Be part of something bigger than all of us.
Your structure will help someone feel supported. Your systems will help someone feel safe. Your leadership will help someone feel less alone.
We Need You — Now
We are at the beginning of our journey, and strong operations will be the lifeline that helps us grow. If you’ve ever wanted to use your skills to create real, lasting change, this is the moment.
If your heart is saying “yes,” then you have a heart of gold — and we want to hear from you.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and a short statement about why this role speaks to you. We welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life.
