As a Event Physician Associate volunteer, you’ll help St John Ambulance provide first aid at large and small events within the community. You’ll be part of a team of volunteers delivering help where it’s needed, dealing with everything from a sprained ankle to a cardiac arrest.

The experience you gain could lead to more advanced roles, including patient transport, cycle response, advanced first aid and emergency response. You’ll make a real difference to your community and have a huge impact on the nation’s health.

You will be vital to the work of your local Scope shop, as one of the first faces customers see.

You will receive training on serving our customers on the till, taking payments and making Gift Aid donations. This makes a real difference to our income and the number of disabled people we can support.

Your role may include:

• using the till and cash handling
• welcoming and supporting customers
• helping to display stock and window dressing
• preparing goods for sale
• tidying and cleaning the shop

When and where

You will be based at our Scope shop at 1 Cheapside, Lancaster, Lancs, LA1 1LY. We are flexible on the times you would like to volunteer. We’d love your help for as little as 1 hour a week, but if you can give more time that would help us even more.

Job Description: Club Welfare / Safeguarding Officer

Role Purpose

The Club Welfare Officer ensures Kenningwell United Women’s Football Club provides a safe, inclusive, and compliant environment. You will lead the administration of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and safeguard the wellbeing of all members.

Key Responsibilities

• DBS Management: Act as the lead administrator for all club DBS checks.
• Compliance Tracking: Maintain secure, up-to-date records of coaching staff qualifications.
• Policy Enforcement: Implement and promote FA safeguarding policies across the club.
• Primary Contact: Act as the trusted point of contact for safety or compliance concerns.
• Committee Reporting: Provide regular compliance updates to the Club Committee.
