We are looking for a new analyst who can help us get to grips with complex issues and produce clear, incisive evidence for decision makers.

Thought leadership is one of Green Alliance’s defining activities, initiating debates and bringing new perspectives to challenging environmental issues. We do this by exploring issues from original angles and presenting information in compelling and relevant formats. Our analysts conduct research and interpret data from a range of sources to inform our insights and recommendations on environmental policy.

You will work on a variety of projects across the organisation, completing technical, economic or social analysis, primarily in the areas of power, energy and industry.  

Curious and inquiring, you will want to seek out and interrogate the best, most credible evidence. You will have excellent attention to detail, a rigorous approach to problem solving and accuracy, and the ability to work on several projects at once. You will have strong writing skills and be able to create copy that explains concepts to a non-scientific audience clearly and concisely. Your data analysis and synthesis skills might have been developed in another field, but you will have a deep interest in environmental issues and Green Alliance’s policy themes.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate Partnerships Lead to advance the development and management of strategic relationships with companies and corporate foundations. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the impact of Learning through Landscapes by securing income and added value from corporate partners who share our vision for outdoor learning and play.

The role is hybrid and can be based in either our Hampshire or Stirling offices or remote. It will be varied and involve: identifying and approaching prospective partners; developing and presenting compelling proposals; managing long-term corporate relationships; reporting on impact; and supporting volunteering and pro-bono engagement. You’ll also contribute to shaping our Corporate Partnerships Strategy and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to maximise partnership value.

You will need:

• Experience of developing corporate partnerships, ideally in the charity, education, or environmental sectors
• Proven ability to develop compelling proposals and presentations tailored to corporate audiences
• Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing partnership proposals and impact reports

Location – Home based but within driving distance of the River Coln

Hours – An average of 20 hours a week

The Coln Restoration Group are seeking a part-time Consultant and Adviser to report to the Chairman and Donors of the group. The post extends and builds on the successful work undertaken over the last sixteen months by the Upper Coln Restoration Group.

The aim of the CRG is to restore the Coln river, a major Upper Thames tributary, to the state it was in until it was overwhelmed and degraded in recent years by excessive sewerage storm overflow, sewage storm tank spill events and compromising groundwater abstraction. 

The applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the campaign to restore the Coln river. This includes devising a strategy with the Chairman and the group to maintain pressure on Thames Water to fulfil its significant new investment undertakings and to meet its wider statutory obligations and responsibilities for improving the state of the river.

The role will require engagement with key stakeholders and regulatory bodies including Ofwat and the Environment Agency, or their successors, to ensure support for the implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing restoration plan. An important role requiring the ability to help drive the process on a weekly and monthly basis.

Qualifications sought from the applicant may include the following areas:

· Evidence of multi-agency and/ or corporate team working at a senior level.  

· Academic achievement and environmental or farming working knowledge.

· Coordination of water testing and monitoring volunteer network.

· Data sourcing and analysis capabilities.

· Good people skills.

Remuneration, length of service and time commitment negotiable. Starting date – as soon as possible. Funding commitments in place for at least a three year appointment.

Our client is looking for a passionate and driven person to champion species and habitats with particular focus on new building developments / demolitions occurring in Cumbernauld, specifically the Town Centre, Community Growth Areas and their partners Sanctuary Scotland. Building on the success of previous projects, this project continues to realise the Cumbernauld Living Landscape long-term vision to improve Cumbernauld’s green spaces for both people and wildlife, helping everyone in the community connect with the nature on their doorstep. 

The candidate:  

The successful candidate will be educated to at least degree level in one of the following: conservation, ecology or related discipline - or equivalent with a minimum of three years previous experience in working in a nature policy environment, ideally in Scotland. 

Main Objectives 

The main objectives of the role are: 

• Delivery of NNC Advocacy Strategy, created during the Development Phase, championing green infra-structure and nature-positivity, with regards to reactive works for the Community Growth Areas (CGA) and proactive for the Town Centre development 

• Building on the existing work of the Trust, create relationships with the Local Planning Authority Planners; developers and businesses. 

• Develop detailed positions to enable the NNC partnership to contribute to and influence the implementation of Green Infrastructure to urban design and construct. 

• Gather evidence and develop a detailed proposal to improve biodiversity, including provision for bats, swift and sparrows, in developments, as well as retaining and enhancing well connected greenspaces, and prioritising native planting regimes to support wildlife across Cumbernauld. 

• Utilise current evidence from Wild Ways Well evaluations to demonstrate the positive links between increased biodiversity and improved health and wellbeing, helping to reinforce the need for good quality Green Infrastructure from a social perspective. 

• Represent the Trust and Cumbernauld Living Landscape. 

• Help keep the NNC team and partners up to date with significant developments in land management policy or legislation which significantly impact on species and habitats. 

• Facilitate the sharing of research and learning between key stakeholders internally/externally and help identify opportunities for aligning policy and conservation work. 

Wider project work 

• Support the team’s wider communications plan. 

• Support project team with events and other project-wide opportunities. 

• Contribute to project reporting, including Monitoring & Evaluation findings across the life of the project. 

• Knowledge sharing with the wider Trust, including recommendations to find centralised funding to potentially expand and continue the role. 

The successful candidate will ideally have: 

• Knowledge of legislative and policy making process in Scotland and Scottish Government priorities.

• Knowledge of environmental governance structures in Scotland and UK.

The Role: 
•    This role is key to helping us communicate key missions and projects to a large audience using digital channels and print.

The Parks Team are a passionate group of professionals, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, playgrounds, allotments and other greenspaces. The borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of open spaces in central London.  Enable Leisure and Culture is a non-for profit charitable organisation and the lead contractor employed by Wandsworth Borough Council to provide management and maintenance of the boroughs 32 greenspaces.  This role is part of the Enable Parks team, a passionate group of people, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, allotments and other greenspaces. The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. You will assist with developing working relations with existing corporate partners and increasing our reach by creating new partnerships in the local area and beyond. 

Your responsibility will be to manage and deliver volunteering sessions throughout the entire portfolio of parks and greenspaces.  You will develop a volunteering program which is established but in its infancy, working with key managers and the team around you to create a purposeful and output focussed programme of opportunities for local groups and corporate partners.  The potential to develop volunteering is significant, and therefore the most suitable candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to ‘make things happens’. 

You will be responsible for creating each volunteer session as it addresses improvements or enhancements, and manage the needs of all volunteers throughout their experience.  You will have responsibility for Health and Safety, external and internal contacts and be the lead person co-ordinating all associated admin tasks to create enjoyable and productive volunteer sessions in Wandsworth.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Responsible to the Parks Delivery Manager for all aspects of parks volunteering development and delivery across open spaces in Wandsworth.  Including Health and Safety, budget management, relationship management, business development
• To develop a relevant and interesting programme of ‘volunteer sessions’ or ‘volunteer days’ that can be delivered alongside standard maintenance programmes, and provide added value to the work that Enable carry out on behalf of Wandsworth Council. 
• Responsible for the efficient on site delivery of volunteer sessions for Enable. 
• Proactively develop existing relationships with local businesses and communities to attract a regular pipeline of groups that can access volunteering opportunities with Enable. 
• Work with colleagues in the Parks team and all other internal departments to design activities that fulfil the ambitions of Wandsworth Borough Council and wider Enable company strategic objectives. 
• Support colleagues in the Parks team with daily operational and project works where relevant, as directed by the Parks Delivery Manager. 

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate experience in a directly related post.
• Experience of working in a volunteer management, coordination or programming role, or similar work delivering practical biodiversity, habitat or landscape management. 
• Proven ability to organise, plan, and manage projects effectively (including budget management, Health and Safety oversight, and environmental monitoring data). 
• Experience of managing / supporting volunteers (delivering soft/hard landscaping improvements with volunteers is desirable.)  
• Experience of developing annual outdoor educational/volunteering programmes for a wide range of participants.
• Entrepreneurial and customer service focussed, to allow the volunteer programme to develop into a sustainable, profitable and scalable service area.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a part time (30 hours) PR Apprentice to help us deliver our PR projects and campaigns in our National PR Team.

•    This role is key to ensuring everything is running smoothly, handling the administration within the PR Team.

Justlife are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Community Support Worker in Brighton to join the Changing Futures Team within Brighton & Hove City Council. The post will be co-ordinated between Justlife and Homes & Adult Social Care, working with clients who would benefit from specialist tailored support.

You will work alongside Social Workers, a Domestic Violence and Abuse Worker, a Recovery Coordinator, Homeless Prevention Officers, as well as Peer Support Workers with lived experience. The teams is part of the wider Changing Futures Sussex Systems Change priority is to identify blocks and barriers in the system, recognising best practice and flexible working to overcome the challenges facing people with multiple disadvantage.

Role Summary  

The role requires the use of specialist knowledge and relationship skills to influence clients with varying degrees of mental health, addiction and trauma related issues to engage with health services and other agencies across the city. This will include advocacy in registering them for medical services and accompanying them to appointments; assisting them in addressing all aspects of physical and mental health or substance addiction needs, as well as advocating or them to get access to source housing and social security benefits. Working collaboratively with our partners within the Changing Futures Multi-Disciplinary team, the role is dependent on good communication and joint working with a variety of partners and professionals.

The role requires a high degree of motivation to support clients with multiple disadvantage, often in a lone-working situation.  With a passion to work collaboratively with others for the good of our clients and with some experience of working in a related field in a voluntary or paid capacity.

A high degree of emotional intelligence is required to support clients, many of whom have complex emotional needs, with backgrounds of trauma, neglect, abuse, crime and low self-worth. A role of this nature will experience a range of emotions from joy to grief and as such requires a high degree of resilience to cope with the emotional demands of the role.

Making decisions “in the moment” to do the right thing to mitigate risk with clients can place high emotional demands on the job holder.  The role is highly reactive, unpredictable and at times, chaotic.  The role therefore requires a high degree of self-awareness to one’s own resilience levels and exercising appropriate levels of self-care.

Service Delivery

Using frontline practical and procedural knowledge of working with complex clients to support them to engage with health care services during their housing vulnerability. This could include, but is not limited to:

• Assisting them in addressing housing, financial, health or wellbeing need
• Accompanying them to appointments
• Collaborating with agencies within the Changing Futures partner agencies such as the local authority, primary health care housing providers and substance misuse services.
• Advocating on behalf of the service user to access medical care, housing and benefits.
• Maintaining regular contact, a listening ear and emotional support during times of crisis
