Job description

We are seeking a part time Diocesan Safeguarding Trainer to join our team (0.5 FTE). The primary purpose of the role is to facilitate and deliver a program of Safeguarding Training across the Diocese of Guildford in line with National Church policy and practice guidance.

The successful candidate will be an engaging and clear communicator, with a sound understanding of the safeguarding field including its social and political context. We are looking for someone with a broad knowledge of safeguarding legislation, ideally its application in a Church of England context, and experience of working within the safeguarding statutory framework in relation to both children and adults.

The role is for 17.5 hours per week.

Although we are working remotely via ‘zoom’ at the moment, the role will eventually require travelling around the diocese to support parishes and their teams. See the full application pack for further details.

To apply, follow the instructions attached and send a completed application form and a supporting statement (no more than 2 sides of A4) detailing your reasons for applying, what you can bring to the role and how you meet its requirements.

For full details of the job description, person specification and more information about the organisation, please see the attached application pack.
