Our Collections

The Library holds over 60,000 catalogued items, including the largest collection of type specimens in the world. The collection reflects both the process and product of printing and is a unique resource of national and international importance.

Used by students, academics, artists, and the public, the library supports learning and research into the history of print, graphic design and technology.

St Bride Foundation (SBF) is seeking a Collections and Archives Manager with strong project management and collections management skills to support the development, preservation, and accessibility of our library and archive collections. Alongside this our preferred candidate will have excellent people management and engagement skills.

The Collections and Archives Manager will manage the smooth running of the Reading Room, library enquiry services and manage our library volunteers.

Working as part of a small team, the role will involve helping to develop and deliver aspects of the learning programme, especially those relating to engagement with the collections through activities including tours, talks and exhibitions.  

The Collections and Archives Manager will work closely with the Foundation Librarian to oversee library and archival operations, and develop policies to improve storage, accessibility, and preservation.

As part of our wider strategic plans this role is pivotal in ensuring the safe relocation of collection materials, implementing best practices in storage and conservation, and enhancing the long-term sustainability of our holdings.

Key Responsibilities

Access, Research & Stakeholder Engagement

• Support public and internal access to collection materials by providing research services and developing user-friendly finding aids.
• Collaborate with researchers, educators and community groups to enhance the impact of the collections.
• Improve discovery and accessibility of collections through database enhancements and digitisation efforts.

Project Management – Collection

• Manage the care, storage, and documentation of the Foundations collection, including developing and implementing policies and procedures for such projects as inventory audits, collection moves, exhibitions, loans and rationalisation projects.
•  Liaise with contractors, partners and internal teams to ensure the security of collections materials.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and implement improvements for future collection projects.

Collections Management & Preservation

• Develop the collections in line with the Foundations collections policy, reflecting SBFs audiences.
• Work closely with conservation specialists to develop and implement storage strategies that align with best practice standards, improving environmental controls and storage solutions.
• Oversee cataloging, metadata creation, and collections documentation.
•  Manage digital preservation strategies and support digitisation projects to increase access to collections.
•  Develop risk management strategies for collection security, environmental conditions, and disaster preparedness.

Outreach, Engagement & Advocacy

• Contribute to learning and engagement programs, including talks, tours, workshops, exhibitions, and digital content—that promote engagement with the collections across diverse audiences.
•  Collaborate with institutions, community partners, and funding bodies to support and develop collections-based projects such as research projects, youth programmes and oral histories.
•  Work with the wider team to share stories from the collections to support advocacy, fundraising, and awareness campaigns.
• Ensure all outreach activity aligns with the organisation’s mission and values, with a commitment to access, inclusion, and engagement with communities and content.

Policy & Funding

• Assist in policy development regarding collections management.
•  Work with the Foundation Librarian and Fundraising Manager to identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the collections.
•  Advocate for the value and significance of the collections within the organisation and to external stakeholders, including funders, partner institutions, and policymakers.

Team Leadership & Administration

• Supervise, support and manage library staff,volunteer and placement workloads and ensure efficient allocation of resources for ongoing projects.
• Represent the Foundation at professional conferences, meetings, and collaborations with external organisations.

We are looking for someone to join our Young People Learning team to support the coordination of our programmes for young people across England and Wales.

We are looking for someone with a passion for empowering young people and understanding of school’s curricula in England and Wales to coordinate.  Your role ensures that operational delivery plans are implemented in your defined area, meeting all targets and KPIs.  There is a significant external remit, and you will be expected to pro-actively manage relationships with schools and Local Authorities, to support schools as they participate in our programmes.

Building Partnerships

This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).

● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.

● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.

Engagement and Inclusion

● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.

● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.

● Producing compelling communications (written and verbal) to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and grow the depth and breadth of partnerships - to include but not limited to partnership proposals, pitches and reports.

Good Practices, Standards and Systems

● Supporting, maintaining and developing existing partnerships and manage the systems (including CRM use) needed for excellent partnerships delivery, stewardship and development.

● Leading Warm Welcome Space good practice and driving up quality standards across the network, including through developing a Warm Welcome Awards programme.

About MediCinema

MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.

The Role

We are looking for an Operations and Finance Coordinator to join our small but growing central office team. The post-holder will work closely with the Operations Manager, Head of Finance and Head of Impact & Service Delivery to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth-running of the charity, our impact and our service delivery.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Service Support

• Support the Operations Manager with managing film delivery to all our sites, including monitoring of KDMs and DCPs
• Support cinema sites by ensuring all our in-hospital marketing materials are up-to date and accurate, including:
  • Create monthly posters for all sites, and other ad-hoc posters
  • Create info cards about upcoming films
  • Update the film information on our Showtimes page of our website
  • Updating digital entrance screens
  • Ordering physical posters and standees from film distributors
  • Support on developing any new initiatives to promote our services in hospitals
• Deputising for the Operations Manager when required, including occasionally covering out-of-hours emergencies

Impact and Evaluation

• Support with the management and upkeep of our Impact data management system Smartsheets to ensure it is accurate and as up-to-date as possible. Specific tasks to include, but not limited to:
  • Check for data errors each morning and follow up accordingly to resolve any issues
  • Uploading Serennu Children’s Centre data

About the role

As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022-2027 strategy. The Finance Manager is at the heart of Woman’s Trust; you will play an essential role and have oversight of not just the finance team - you will have direct exposure to CEO/Board Members and decision-making for the future of the organisation. 

We are looking for a highly motived Temporary Finance Manager with demonstrable experience working in a similar senior level role. You’ll be a fully or part qualified accountant e.g. CIMA/ACA/ACCA/Cipfa, with a thorough understanding of charity accounting.

Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week.

Contract: Fixed term to start ASAP until 18th December 2025.

As part of our new 2025-2028 strategy we are partnering with ClearScore, the leading financial marketplace platform, to launch a new year-long study to prove the positive impact of financial education on financial wellbeing. ClearScore users in the study will be delivered three different types of financial education, across videos, workshops and other content, and then monitored against a control group for any improvements to their financial capability, their credit score, wider creditworthiness and ultimately their financial resilience, wellbeing and potentially access to credit. The effectiveness of the interventions will be robustly and independently assessed by an external evaluation partner, currently being recruited.

This study (and the resulting research outputs) has the potential to be transformative in the sector, and is kindly funded by the AVIVA Foundation, the charitable organisation which aims to help people deal with financial challenges. This project forms part of a growing suite of projects at The Money Charity aiming to improve the UK’s financial education ecosystem, by reaching more adults with new, innovative forms of financial education interventions at key ‘teachable moments’ throughout their lives.

About The Role

We are looking for a project manager to take the day-to-day lead of The Money Charity x ClearScore Financial Education project. As well as management of the overall project, the role involves delivering on some specific intervention workstreams allocated to The Money Charity, and managing the relationship with the external evaluation partner conducting the study. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for a small portfolio of other related projects focussed on building adult Financial Wellbeing.

This role would be ideal for a hands-on and engaging individual with a strong track record in delivering high-profile educational or customer-facing projects. A good knowledge of issues relating to money management, access to credit and personal finance is also important. The individual will need an ability to navigate the retail financial services landscape in the UK, as well as a good understanding of the not-for-profit sector. This is an exciting, varied role to lead this transformative project from an early stage through to completion, and provides a unique opportunity to impact on the Financial Wellbeing of individuals.

The creation of this role has been triggered by the launch of the ClearScore project and is therefore being offered as a fixed-term contract aligned to the funding being received for its delivery. However there is some scope for the project (and therefore contract) to be extended or become permanent. The Money Charity would also be open to exploring filling this role on a 18-month secondment basis e.g. from an individual working at a financial services organisation.

• Creation and delivery of local/county/regionally specific crime-based campaigns in partnership with law enforcement agencies, local committees and volunteers.
• Coordination of cross border and national activity in support of ROCU’S, the NCA and other bodies such as the GLAA.
• Identifying and maximising funding opportunities for our charity including RM post, campaign activity, Fearless workers and for Business Development.

• Act as Crimestoppers spokesperson for the region covered, regarding media interviews.

The organisation

ImpactEd Group supports education and purpose-driven organisations to maximise and realise their potential. A growing and skilled team of over 30 people, we help our partners to be consistently impactful and sustainable through a combination of specialist support and use of digital tools.

This project would support our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with over 1,500 schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t for young people. As well as tailored consultancy and support for our partners, we support schools and organisations to collect and evaluate educational data through an in-house digital tool (our “School Impact Platform”) – which this project would support.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to help transform our data infrastructure to better manage our growing dataset of over 14 billion records and create more efficient analytics capabilities. This is a hands-on technical role that will involve both strategic advisory work and practical implementation.

Initially a fixed-term project of around 3-4 months, working to the project outcomes, there may be opportunities for longer-term advisory and technical support following completion if this is of interest.

We are happy for you to work flexibly although would expect the majority of your time to be committed to this project. We expect the work to be conducted predominantly remotely, with a few key meetings in person at our London offices, though you are welcome to use our office space throughout. We anticipate the project being outside of IR35.

What will you do?

Our School Impact Platform brings together existing data from schools (for example, on student demographics and attendance at school) and other forms of data (for example, surveys on student wellbeing and motivation) to help school leaders and educational organisations better understand the impact of their educational choices and programmes.

Part of this involves processing significant data from schools, and we are looking at options for how this could be handled more effectively and be more easily extracted for analysis.

We currently have 14 billion records in a PostgreSQL table, which we believe could be stored more cost effectively and allow for faster data retrieval by using new or alternative data stores. We would also like to develop data pipelines to take data from Postgres to serve analytics use cases, either in new Postgres tables or potentially in a data warehouse or similar.

We would like someone to help identify the best solutions for both areas, assuming our assumptions are correct, and lead the majority of the implementation. You would work closely with our in-house software development team and an existing consultant with experience in data analytics.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation.  We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Overview  

At Young Roots, we want to see a compassionate and welcoming society for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.   

Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing a whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people.  

The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth development programme for young refugees and asylum seekers. 

You will be focused on ensuring our programme activities achieve our outcomes, are in line with our strategy and identify areas for change and development under the direction of the Head of Services. An excellent communicator and skilled at working with partners, you will be key in the implementation and running all of our weekly youth activities, including a Youth Club and Advice and Support Hub working closely with the Youth Development Worker and having oversight of our weekly Young Women’s group. 

As an experienced manager, you will lead our team of skilled youth workers, working alongside the Brent team to provide holistic support to young asylum seekers and refugees in Brent.  

You will prioritise the participation of young people in all activities, ensuring excellent safeguarding by following our policy and protocols, and ensure that we collect excellent data for monitoring and evaluation and to aid our future planning. You will also assist with staff and volunteer recruitment and reporting to our funding partners. 

The Youth Development Coordinator will hold a Designated Safeguarding Officer role at Young Roots for which they will receive full training.
