Main Purpose of Job: Work with the Social Impact and wider Marketing team to develop and deliver a structured programme of events throughout the year with the objective to raise awareness about ADC's work to empower communities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set out how the individual events and programme as a whole will contribute to the empowerment of communities and work with the social impact team to set KPIs / tangible outcomes
- Responsible for the organisation and facilitation of events hosted by ADC that deliver on the organisational objectives and mirror ADC value
- Work with the wider marketing team to promote and advertise the events to the target audience, driving attendance and engagement
- Find and secure guest speakers who are subject matter experts in topics such as; WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), civic advocacy and engagement, and the development and delivery of essential physical infrastructure, and work with them to deliver events and content that align with ADC’s objectives
- Solicit feedback from event attendees post-event and iterate future events format and content accordingly
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Expertise
Essential
- Experience in events coordination and management
- A knowledge and understanding of international development
- Exceptional networking skills
- Experience of setting KPI’s or monitoring and evaluation
- Available to volunteer at least 7-10 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute the Community Engagement and Racial Harmony strategy and service line:
• Cultural Events and Dialogue: Lead the creation of a flagship calendar of events designed to elevate the cultural and social quality of the community. This includes organizing a successful annual cultural festival with a diverse range of activities that celebrate and raise awareness of Afro-Hebrew heritage.
• Art and Media Collaborations: Develop and implement a series of collaborative art and media projects that involve community members, fostering racial harmony and showcasing the community's creativity and stories.
2. Measure performance: Keep accurate count of thenumber of cultural events held annually; the number of attendees to cultural events; the community participation rate in art and media projects. Including social media and other statistics; and feedback and satisfaction rates from event attendees and project participants. Provide this data to the Governance Team and Trustees on request.
3. Collaboration with Verticals Teams:
• Partnership Development & Collaboration Team: Coordinate with this team to identify and establishalliances and partnerships with local, regional and global organisations, businesses, councils, and thegovernment to acquire Community Engagement and Racial Harmony resources, speakers or information.
• Fundraising & Financial Management Team: Collaborate with this team to conduct fundraising activities and financial planning for the Community Engagement and Racial Harmony service line. Independent Choices Greater Manchester provides advice and support for survivors of domestic abuse in Greater Manchester. We offer a confidential helpline that offers survivors information about their legal options for safety, housing options, refuge availability, safety planning, contacting, and reporting to the police as well as emotional support, aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse and empowering survivors to take control of their lives through informed choices. Our helpline is accessed by survivors, friends and family and professionals who support survivors.
Position Overview:
As a chair, you will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction and governance of our organisation. Your insights, expertise, and commitment will direct us to fulfil our missions and aims. There will be a supportive onboarding process from the existing long-standing and experienced chair and continual support from the well-established board members.
You will:
- Provide leadership to the board of trustees, ensuring effective governance and oversight.
- Ensure we comply with our governing document, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
- Oversee our financial health and sustainability, alongside the manager and treasurer.
- Support and appraise the performance of the manager.

Would you like to be the next Treasurer of the Infection Prevention Society and join our Board of Trustees?
Our charity is about to begin a period of transformational change. We are in the process of recruiting our first staff-team, and are now looking for an excellent Treasurer to work with the Board of Trustees and support our new six-strong team (which will include a CEO and a Financial Controller who is an experienced and qualified charity accountant).
We are an organisation our new Treasurer will be proud to be a part of. Our current Board of Trustees are excited for our future and our members are supportive of the changes to the Society’s management structure. For the past year we have worked closely with our Interim Managing Director and our members, Branches, Special Interest Groups and Business Groups to develop our new strategy - Working together to prevent infection.
The aim of the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) is to inform, promote and sustain evidence-based infection prevention policy and practice to create a health and care system where no person's health and wellbeing is harmed by preventable infection.
Our broad membership includes infection control practitioners, scientists, clinicians and industry experts and we support our members via branches across the UK and Ireland. We deliver educational opportunities to support best practice in infection prevention and control through an annual conference, study days, our academic journal, and research activity. We support our members with a competency framework and credentialing system, international engagement opportunities and product evaluation services for industry.
The Infection Prevention Society has an independent Board of Trustees who are responsible for governance and risk management functions of the society. These include developing long-term strategy, assuring financial stability and compliance with governing documents, and evaluating performance. The Board works with the Management Executive Group (MEG) who are responsible for leading and managing the business activity of the Society.
Who we are looking for?
Our new Treasurer and trustee must be:
· Financially competent
· Willing to work with our staff team in managing the finances of the charity
· Willing to assist and support the IPS CEO and Audit and Finance Committee in monitoring the financial performance of the charity
As a Trustee you will be able to contribute to the work of the society by:
· Shaping the strategic direction
· Making decisions that enhance its influence
· Assuring good governance of the Society
We are looking for applicants who really want to make a positive impact on our organisation. They should have strategic vision and good judgement, an ability to think creatively, and willingness to contribute opinions and ideas. A willingness to challenge is also desirable. An understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship is desirable although Trustees induction and training would be available. Previous experience as a Trustee is also desirable but not essential. Although the trustee positions are unpaid, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The Board of Trustees hold a minimum of four meetings per year and trustees are also expected to attend the Annual General meeting which is held in the autumn.

Environment and Sustainability Lay Member role description:
The Association is seeking to appoint a lay member with expertise in the environment and sustainability to join its Safety, Standards, Environment and Sustainability Committee which plays a key role in the driving the sustainability strategy and workstream for the organisation.
The committee actively promotes safe, carbon friendly healthcare across the profession and internationally. It has supported a national fellowship in environmentally sustainable anaesthesia in partnership with Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, and offers awards to recognise excellence in sustainability in the specialty.
The Association also supports a network of environment champions across hospitals in the United Kingdom and Ireland to encourage collaboration and share examples of best practice. Alongside the Greener NHS Team, the Association is part of a joint task group to achieve the goals related to anaesthesia that have been set out in the NHS long term plan, of which a particular focus is reducing the impact of anaesthetic gases. In January 2023 a joint statement was issued with NHS England (NHSE) and the Royal College of Anaesthetists supporting NHSE’s plan to decommission desflurane by early 2024. Work continues on reducing nitrous oxide waste.
Lay members bring expertise, judgment and balance which complement the skills of the elected directors and trustees. Their principal assets will be their independence and non-clinical expertise.

Seeking volunteers with a special interest in the Conservation of Historic Places of Worship for the Methodist Church’s Connexional Listed Buildings Advisory Committee.
Do you have expert knowledge of the ecclesiastical historic built environment? Non-conformist architecture and heritage? Expert knowledge of the conservation of our fixtures of architectural and historic significance? Or knowledge of Methodist liturgy and worship in a historic Place of Worship? Do you want to be part of an expert group and use your skills and gifts to help reimagine and re-purpose our historic places of worship for growth and sustainability?
About the role
The Listed Buildings Advisory Committee (LBAC) is a long – established Committee of the Methodist Church whose primary purpose is to fulfil the responsibilities set out by the relevant Standing Orders (980) and statutory responsibilities and provide expert knowledge on all matters relating to historic church buildings.
Members of the Committee reflect a wide spectrum of interest; some are professionally concerned with the conservation of listed buildings, others have a special interest in the history of Methodist chapels and churches, or archaeology, whilst others are Methodist ministers or church members.
Strong emphasis is placed on a church being the people of God and the Calling of the Methodist Church with the building being there to serve a living church within a changing community. Membership of the LBAC therefore reflects the balance between the need for rigorous conservation and the necessary adaptation of listed church buildings to meet changing needs.
Sympathy with these aims is desirable but membership of the Methodist Church is not essential.
About You
As a member of the LBAC you will contribute to the review, evaluation and recommendation process for proposals relating to works of alteration to listed buildings owned by the Methodist Church. The primary duty is to provide expert guidance and advice on conservation and development of historic church buildings and have a specialist knowledge in one or more than one of the following areas:
· knowledge of the history, development and use of Methodist chapels;
· knowledge of Methodist liturgy and worship;
· knowledge of archaeology;
· knowledge of the history and development of architecture and the visual arts; and
· experience of the care of historic buildings and their contents.

Tanzania Development Trust - Recruitment of Two New Trustees
Tanzania Development Trust
Tanzania Development Trust (TDT) has been helping to lift people out of poverty in rural areas in Tanzania for almost 50 years. The demand for our services continues to grow, so we need additional Trustees who can help us expand and strengthen our own delivery capacity.
TDT sponsors 40-50 small rural development projects p.a., mainly in the areas of clean water, girls' education and small income generating activities. It also has longer-term partnerships with four flagship projects: a school for teenage mothers; community development through the training in sustainable agriculture and the provision of clean water; vocational training for profoundly deaf adolescents; and integrated infrastructure development in a remote village.
Its primary function is fundraising, although it provides general project management and business advice where appropriate. Around half of its income comes from individual donors, and half from Trusts & Foundations. It helps villagers in Tanzania who lack the capacity and language skills to present their projects to international donors, conducting project appraisals and monitoring project outcomes on their behalf. The projects are implemented by the villagers themselves, or by small local contractors.
TDT is run entirely by volunteers (17 regular volunteers in the UK and 16 local representatives in Tanzania). It has no paid staff, premises or overheads, so 100% of all money raised goes directly to projects in Tanzania.
The demand is enormous so we are looking for additional Trustees who can help us to grow by identifying potential donors, increasing awareness of our activities, and strengthening our project selection and monitoring procedures.
The work we do is immensely rewarding. You would be joining an organisation that is growing and adapting to meet the needs of a changing world, where helping poor people to help themselves is of great importance.
Job description
We are looking for additional Trustees who can help us to grow by identifying potential donors, increasing awareness of our activities, and strengthening our project selection and monitoring procedures.
We would like at least one of the new Trustees to help us with fund-raising by piloting more innovative and creative approaches. Experience of living or working in Tanzania is not essential, but to improve the Board’s racial diversity we would like at least one of the new Trustees to be of Tanzanian origin or have strong connections with East Africa.
The Trustees will be expected to provide direction and guidance to our volunteers in fund-raising, project appraisal and monitoring & evaluation work, and come up with new ideas about how to help our beneficiaries more effectively.
They must be willing to use their contacts and networking skills to increase awareness of our work, generate additional income and build strong partnerships with other organisations working in the same areas.
They will be conscious of changing opportunities for the rural poor in the mobile phone era, and able to think constructively about how we can use our projects to build capacity amongst our beneficiaries.
We would also welcome objective analysis of how to improve our own operations.
The position will involve around 20-40 hours of unpaid work p.a., mainly preparing for and attending Board meetings, and undertaking any necessary follow-up work. Our Board meetings, and the vast majority of our other meetings, are held on-line. Trustees wanting to add any additional functions to their work as Trustees will welcome to do so.
