Job Title: Social Media Officer

Reporting to: Digital Marketing Manager

Location of work: Flexible. This post holder can be based in our London office or a hybrid approach working from home with office visits as required, we continue to seek to enable flexible and remote working. The role will involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

SUDEP Action is the only UK charity focused on preventing epilepsy-related deaths. We have the only epilepsy bereavement service freely available to anyone suddenly bereaved by epilepsy (including SUDEP). By representing the voices of those who have died and who are bereaved, we aim to learn from deaths, and use research, policy and campaigns to raise awareness and take action that helps save lives. 

Working both independently and with the wider team you will deliver a high-quality community fundraising service. We’re looking for someone who has worked in a fundraising department and/or similar role before, preferably in the charity sector. Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role - whether they are major donors, corporates or community fundraisers. This is particularly important as many of our supporters & fundraisers are bereaved.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your plans and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised supporter relationships is key. The GOALS Supporter will understand gambling related harm and dependency issues and be able to ensure safe working environments and take a robust lead on safeguarding and harm minimisation procedures and policy.

The post holder will work with the Director of Support Services and GOALS Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of the systems and structure of the service, ensuring that governance and polices are implemented, safeguarding and safe working practices are systematic and develop a clear understanding of how the service integrates with the national gambling treatment service.

Other support activities will be developed, such as group support and weekly meet ups.

The Role

Reporting to the PR Manager, the role will help deliver key media campaigns that call for change to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke.

Key responsibilities will include:

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our Birmingham office (B37 7YE).

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.   At the moment, the team typically go into the office once a week on a Wednesday. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. About the role

This position involves leading and contributing to identified nutrition focused cancer and nutrition projects within Macmillan engaging with internal and external stakeholders.  There will be a particular focus on the following areas: 

• Review and development of Macmillan nutrition resources from an equality, diversity and inclusion perspective, working on focused pieces of work with communities to co-produce nutrition information through focus groups/attending relevant community events and discussing the importance of nutrition. 
• Leading a nutrition focused partnership project(s) in identified areas with poorer quality health outcomes.
• Development of scoping work to understand the opportunities for creating a single point of access for nutrition and cancer resources. 

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• track record of management and clinical leadership

The RSCM is on a mission to enable the flourishing of church music, and in particular to get children singing.

Working across the whole charity, you will work to sell existing products, courses and events, as well as membership subscriptions. Some of the work will be in support of RSCM Enterprises, RSCM’s wholly owned trading subsidiary.

The sales plan will be delivered with some assistance of external contractors (e.g. social media), and with input from individuals across the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for selling to individuals, corporate customers (such as school federations) and organisations (e.g. choral societies) including through appropriate organisational networks. What would we like…?

Do you have good problem solving skills with the ability to spot future challenges through analysis?
We're looking for an analytical thinker to join our Facilitation and Planning team as Facilitation and Planning Officer.

You'll work as part of a team who are responsible for planning and scheduling of all events, conferences and one-to-one sessions across our programme suite. We recruit and support expert faculty to ensure our programmes are delivered to the highest quality in order to enrich participant learning.

Your main role will be to work within the Facilitation and Planning team, supporting with the development of our online system to auto-generate events. You'll  be responsible for setting up reporting and monitoring processes to support our optimisation of facilitators, and work closely with other internal programme stakeholders to oversee the creation of new policies and processes such as our Quality Assurance and development offer. 

Please note - this role is internally known as Facilitation and Planning Senior Associate. 

We would like you to:

• Lead on the scheduling process of our programmes, ensuring scheduling aligns with sequencing requirements
• Be the first point of contact for our team of external faculty (facilitators and coaches), supporting general queries and processing invoices. 
• Be responsible for allocating and matching facilitators to events and 1:1 coaching influenced by a set of key criteria
• Communicate and simplify complex data to share with stakeholders and identifying issues and solutions

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Facilitation and Planning Manager.  In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by Ambition.

To succeed in this role you'll have a excellent communication skills with experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have high attention detail, and thrive and excel with organising, scheduling and planning responsibilities.
 

Whilst experience in other analytical systems would be desirable, it is not a requirement for applying to the role but it is essential that you have an ability to get up to speed quickly and we will provide full training.

The Humane Slaughter Association is a unique charity which promotes the welfare of farmed animals ‘Beyond the Farm Gate’; at markets, during transport, at slaughter, and when animals must be killed in emergencies.

Our vision is of a world where all farmed animals are transported and killed humanely and our mission is to research, advance and promote the use of humane methods for the transport, slaughter and killing of farmed animals.

We do this by offering practical advice, education, ad training to all those involved in transport, slaughter, or emergency killing of livestock animals, as well as by funding scientific research to develop more humane approaches. Although we are based in the UK, the charity is international and works worldwide.

Technical Officer – welfare assessment

The postholder for this role will become a key part of the HSA welfare assessment and training team. The team regularly undertakes welfare assessments of abattoirs, livestock markets and transport facilities to provide advice and training to ensure high standards of animal welfare. We also provide in-person training in humane slaughter and transport to those working in the industry, as well as regulators, other NGOs, staff from farm assurance schemes and others involved in the industry. Participating in agricultural shows and industry events, sharing our knowledge and advocating for humane slaughter and transport with key stakeholders are also central to our activities. HSA conferences are also an important way in which we disseminate the latest animal welfare information.

The postholder will work with the small expert team at the HSA, using their expertise to deliver welfare assessments and training, provide expert advice and organise our external activities.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Attributes

Essential

· A degree in agriculture, life science, veterinary medicine (or a related field) or equivalent professional experience.

· An understanding of the basic principles of animal welfare at slaughter.

· Comfortable working with and producing material which describes the slaughter process in detail.

· Comfortable working in abattoirs and livestock facilities.

· A diplomatic approach to dealing with controversial issues in animal welfare.

· Willingness to obtain a slaughter licence.

· A demonstrable ability to summarise complex information for a range of audiences with different levels of technical expertise.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Strong IT skills ideally including experience with MS Office and SharePoint.

· Ability to work to targets, with excellent organisational skills.

· Team player, but comfortable working alone when necessary.

· Willingness to travel extensively around the UK and further afield to undertake assessments or provide training.

Desirable

· Expertise in animal welfare at slaughter and/or during transport (this expertise could have been gained though working with the livestock industry or as an educator, veterinarian, animal welfare researcher, regulator, or policymaker). 

· A postgraduate qualification, ideally in animal welfare or a related area.

· Experience of animal welfare assessment or audit.

· Understanding of the laws and regulations relating to the welfare of animals (in the UK and/or elsewhere) undergoing transport and slaughter.

· Expertise in the welfare of farmed or wild-caught aquatic animals.

· Experience of using social media including Twitter/X, LinkedIn and/or YouTube to deliver animal welfare or technical information.

· Experience of event organisation.

Personal Attributes

The candidate must be comfortable with the charity’s approach to animal welfare which includes co-operation with the livestock and slaughter industries. Whilst the HSA wishes to ensure the highest standards of welfare for animals farmed for food or other products, it does not oppose the slaughter of animals per se. Candidates must be comfortable working within the livestock industry and other key stakeholders whilst striving to ensure the humane treatment of animals undergoing transport or slaughter.

Job Benefits

Payscale: £30,493 – 41,737 (depending on experience and qualifications) Plus London weighting, where applicable.

Contract Type: Permanent/full-time, subject to a satisfactory probationary period. Part-time and flexible working arrangements may be possible.

Location: Office-based or remote (within the UK) according to the wishes of the applicant. The HSA offices are currently based in Hertfordshire, UK.  The postholder will need to travel to meetings around the UK and occasionally overseas.

Contributory pension scheme (inc. Employer’s pension contribution of 8% of gross salary).

25 days paid holiday per year (allowance increases with length of service), plus statutory holidays.
