This role is key to positioning the Trust as a provider of affordable, vital and culturally appropriate services. Role Summary
The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) is looking for a Senior Manager - Network to support our mission to help every young person find their best next step. You will ensure consistent high-quality delivery and support for all Careers Hubs across the country.
You will play a key role in delivering CEC’s current and future ambitions through our network of Careers Hubs, including the government’s ambition for a new work experience guarantee to ensure that all pupils participate in 2 weeks’ worth of work experience by the time they leave year 11. Careers Hubs will be a key coordinating and delivery mechanism for this guarantee.
You will balance national intent with local priorities, ensuring national government agenda is delivered upon through the lens of place and devolution. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Strategic and Local Authorities who we partner with in the delivery of careers education through Careers Hubs.
Reporting to the Associate Head of Network Development, with a team of 8 Area Managers, you will provide a central point of accountability, senior stakeholder management and operational support to Area Managers.
You will contribute as a member of the senior management team of Network and Employers and the wider organisation. Contributing towards the strategy and operational delivery and leading/co-leading on cross Network and Employer and cross-company projects.
This role suits someone who can lead the delivery of a large-scale national programme and is a natural relationship builder. You will thrive on delivering change management and be comfortable working through ambiguity to secure lasting impact. The role will require travel across the country.

Overview / Purpose
The Research Events Coordinator plays a central role in the organisation's mission to build a world-leading Research Centre. This department coordinates, generates, and champions research activity across the organisation. The Research Events Coordinator contributes the Department's central mission to advance knowledge through the conception, creation, delivery, and dissemination of the highest quality research events aimed at the widest possible public and specialist audiences, undertaken through many diverse channels and through the organisation's local, national, and international research projects and partnerships.
The role holder provides efficient and effective administration and coordination of the organisation's annual programme of research events, organised by the Research Department in collaboration with research-active staff from across the institution. In coordination with other Research Department staff, in particular the Research Centre Manager, you are responsible for the overall planning, delivery, and archiving of all research events, both in-person and hybrid. This includes (but is not limited to): research seminars, exhibition colloquia, scholarly workshops, academic conferences, annual lectures, and other internal research events. You will also support the Centre's front-of-house duties and will provide administrative support for further research activity as deemed appropriate or suitable by the Head of Research.
Key Responsibility
Support the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, and Head of Research in:
Events Administration
- Attend meetings, take and circulate notes on event planning and preparation.
- Assist the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, Head of Research, and all other event-hosting staff with: coordinating Calls for Papers; liaising with speakers and collaborators; providing administration for all aspects of events planning.
- Book travel and accommodation for external speakers (and VIP attendees); attend any related invoices and ensure prompt payment of the same.
- Book venues and prepare rooms for conferences, seminars, and all other Research Centre events, e.g. arrange furniture, set up refreshments.
- Arrange, as necessary, all IT and AV support for events, including speaker and participant digital access for online events, facilitating practice sessions, and any livestreams and recording of events.
- Work at evening events (outside office hours) at the organisation or events hosted at external locations, as required (agreed in advance).
- Provide technical support at digital events, including setting up hybrid planning meetings between internal and external colleagues.
- Coordinate with AV/Digital event recordings for archive and/or release to participants and the general public.
- Maintain the contacts/networks database as it relates to event attendees, speakers etc.
Communications and Advertising:
- Produce event copy, as required, for the website, e-newsletter for research networks, etc.
- Liaise with the Digital Team over online event pages on the website and over the booking system; monitor event bookings.
- Ensure that the web information about the Research Centre remains current; liaise with the Digital Team about web content.
- Maintain and develop the email list of subscribers to events mailings and to the newsletter.
- Co-ordinate the regular research email newsletter; liaise with content providers for the newsletter; produce event copy, as required, for e-newsletters for research networks, etc.
- Work with Digital and Creative Teams to create event templates for invitations that match the brand, the research theme and audience of the given event.
- Work to promote upcoming research events using internal and external advertising platforms, as appropriate.
Research Centre Administration:
- Provide front-of-house support to the Research Centre, as necessary.
- Attend and take and circulate notes, as required, at relevant committees/working groups for research.
- Work with Senior Research Lead and Research Centre Manager to carry out administration related to research projects, including assisting with budgets, processing invoices, securing image rights, publishing web content, liaising with external collaborators and visiting fellows, booking travel and accommodation and providing administration for all research project activities.
Key Required Skills
- Substantial experience of event management to coordinate projects and events, ideally within a large, multipart organisation.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines and workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail (e.g. creating travel itineraries; making bookings; taking minutes of meetings; maintaining calendars and room booking systems).
- Proven track record in numeracy and financial data-handling experience; experience maintaining and managing information on a relational database.

About the role
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser to join our successful team as we embark on a major capital campaign (NHM150) to raise £150m to transform our South Kensington site ahead of our 150th anniversary. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role will be responsible for personally securing high six- and seven-figure gift from Trusts and Foundations.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and the rest of the Philanthropy team, feeding into the overall strategy for the team. They will manage a portfolio of funder accounts which deliver long-term, high-value strategic partnerships as well as building new relationships.
The post will also manage a team of 3 – 2x Philanthropy Manager and 1 Philanthropy Executive.

About you
The role requires excellent fundraising skills, with experience in raising and managing high six- and seven-figure gifts. Sustainable Merton, Merton's award winning environmental charity, is recruiting a dynamic individual to oversee our Community Changemakers initiative and deliver grassroots acitivity in Pollards Hill, Mitcham. If you are passionate about sustainability, volunteering and making a difference in a local community, we would love to hear from you!
This role combines volunteer leadership with project management. The successful candidate will split their time between:
- Project management and delivery of the WeRPollards project (2 days/week), a grassroots local initiative running from September 2025 to September 2026
- Volunteer and operational management (1 day/week), supporting the charity as a whole
You will work closely with Moat Housing to deliver the WeR Pollards Community Changemaker project and also lead the development and implementation of a new volunteering strategy, support colleagues to adopt new volunteer processes,
and oversee our charity policies to support compliance and our organisational growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
WeRPollards project management
1. Group Development and Coordination
● Coordinate and facilitate monthly volunteer meetings at the Pollards Hill Wellbeing Studio.
● Attend the Wellbeing Studio on a weekly basis, attend schools and community pop-up events to increase awareness of and community engagement in the project
● Support volunteers with soft and technical skills development on their path to becoming Community Changemakers.
● Encourage retention and progression of existing volunteers whilst increasing group membership from 15 to 30.
● Liaise with Moat Foundation officer and project tutors to establish a pathway into volunteering and increasing membership of the WeRPollards group
● Work with colleagues at Sustainable Merton to align this grass roots work with their borough wide initiatives such as Merton Garden Streets, Mitcham Community Orchard, Repair Cafes, Preloved Studio and Merton’s Community Fridge.
2. Community Engagement
● In partnership with Pollards Hill Wellbeing Studio team, develop and implement a local engagement strategy to recruit and retain volunteers to become WeRPollards Community Changemakers.
● Design and deliver an induction and training programme for new volunteers.
● In collaboration with the PH Wellbeing Studio team conduct regular listening sessions to identify resident needs, interests and connect volunteers to, or help them develop, relevant community activities.
3. Project and Event Delivery
● Lead the volunteer group to plan and deliver community activities aligned with the 3R’s agenda, that are run out of the Wellbeing Studio, including:
○ Sewing Skills Workshops (Monthly, 10 sessions)
○ Community Gardening Sessions (Min. 5 sessions)
○ Repair Shed Sessions (Monthly, 9 sessions)
○ Street Planting Engagement & Delivery (Min. 3 events)
4. Capacity Building and Progression
● Deliver at least 6 training workshops including SMART goal setting and planning.
● Support residents to lead and take ownership of initiatives and to become Community Changemakers.
● Build a clear, accessible pathway for participation and leadership within the group and studio.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
● Track Key Performance Indicators including:
○ Volunteer numbers, growth and retention (Target: 30 volunteers, 60% retention)
○ Number of volunteer hours contributed
○ Number of accredited or certified training courses completed
○ Number of volunteers progressing into leadership roles
○ Attendance and engagement in all community sessions
● Conduct volunteer satisfaction surveys and gather qualitative feedback.
● Report quarterly on progress to PHCC meetings, outcomes and impact to the Pollards Hill Community Committee.

● Develop and implement a volunteering strategy covering recruitment, retention, induction, training, and development
● Identify and recruit a cohort of Community Changemakers
● Draft volunteer role descriptions across all projects
● Conduct annual volunteer surveys
● Plan and deliver twice-yearly recruitment drives
