What will you be doing?
Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
- Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
- Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
- Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
- Update donor CRM databases and website

The role
We are looking for a Senior Events Officer to join our Events team during an exciting period of growth. Working closely with the Events Manager, you will project manage a varied portfolio of Special and Challenge events, helping to grow income and awareness for the charity.
Our events programme includes events such as our Carol Service, Art Exhibition and Supper Club, alongside major challenge events including the London Marathon, Great North Run, Royal Parks Half Marathon and London Landmarks Half Marathon. About you
You enjoy delivering events that combine creativity with meticulous organisation. You are confident juggling multiple projects, building relationships and working collaboratively across teams. You will already have experience of fundraising events or challenge events, with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Experience working with high-value supporters, celebrities or suppliers would be an advantage together with experience of event management software/word press or if not a willingness to learn, enhance and streamline systems.

The Role

JOB PURPOSE
This is a pivotal role in supporting and elevating our philanthropy and partnerships programmes which have seen significant growth in recent years. Purpose of the role

Job summary
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a charity that supports members who work in, or are interested in, tropical medicine and global health.
In September 2028 it is hosting the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) on behalf of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM), in Liverpool, UK.
ICTMM 2028 expects to receive over 1,500 attendees, hopefully with over 40% coming from outside of Europe. It is an educational meeting with a high proportion of the content driven by abstracts. The event is being delivered by RSTMH with the support of a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO).
The ICTMM Events Manager has responsibility for coordinating the development and delivery of ICTMM 2028 at RSTMH, working with the RSTMH team, the PCO, the event venue ACC Liverpool, IFTM, and other suppliers. The individual would be based at RSTMH where the role would start on a part-time basis and move to be full-time 17 months before the event.
The role requires an able self-starter who understands the logistics and considerations of running a scientific, abstract-driven event of 1,500+ attendees, of working with a PCO and of educational events attended by a high number of international guests. There will be some travel to Liverpool and the role would require some overnight stays there before and during the event.
The candidate needs to have excellent event and project management skills, communication and relationship building skills, and be organised and flexible with a great attention to detail. They should be as comfortable developing an events strategy as answering queries about tickets sales and negotiating sponsorship. Alongside delivering the ICTMM meeting there are opportunities for partners to deliver events at the same venue, which are also the responsibility of the events manager.
The role will start as three days per week and then move to be full time as we approach the event. The current expected timings are:
- 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 – 21 hours/3 days per week
- 1 April 2027 to 30 September 2028 – 35 hours/ 5 days per week
Up to 1 April 2027 the role will be office-based in our London (Bloomsbury) offices, although there is flexibility to set your own days between Tuesday to Fridays (working hours must include our core times of 10am – 4pm).
The role may also require work in the evenings or weekends and potential time staying in Liverpool.
Main responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive project plan for all aspects of ICTMM 2028, working with the PCO, and be responsible for ensuring all stakeholders meet deadlines leading up to the event

Event support

ISEAL is looking for an experienced events professional to manage a range of in person and virtual events for its global stakeholder base. This is an exciting role for someone with a strong track record in organising events of differing sizes for in-person, online, and hybrid audiences, and who is interested in sustainability.
Events are a vital part of ISEAL’s work to communicate with, influence, and engage our key stakeholder groups, including policy makers, multilateral organisations, donors, companies, NGOs, producers, and, of course, ISEAL’s own members. To support these aims, ISEAL hosts at least one major public forum, conference or symposium each year. In 2026, this will be a Global Sustainability Symposium and will take place in Accra, Ghana in June with around 200-300 participants. Additionally, ISEAL organises Members´ Week, an annual multi-day event for ISEAL Community Members that typically attracts 60-100 participants per day.
With support from the Events Coordinator, the Associate Manager will be responsible for all aspects of event management for the events described above. The role will also work closely with ISEAL programme teams and senior colleagues to coordinate the development of event agendas, content and sessions.
In addition, ISEAL’s events programme includes a range of smaller workshops and roundtables, both in Europe and in other locations, including China, India, Ghana, Indonesia, and Latin America. ISEAL also runs a busy webinar programme. The Associate Manager will work with senior colleagues to agree the level of support given by the Events Team to each of these smaller events/event series. While the Events Team is not expected to directly organise every event, the Associate Manager will also maintain and develop event planning resources, and guidance to support the organisation to consistently deliver high-quality events.
To succeed in this role, you will have significant existing experience in organising events, ideally including international events for high-profile audiences. Given the range of international events, you will also have a sensitive approach to cultural diversity and, ideally, some additional language skills. This role is responsible for line managing the Events Coordinator.

Salary: £45,800 – 49,800, depending on experience (pro rata for less than 100%)
Location: London is the preferred location. Applicants will need to provide evidence that they are entitled to work in the UK. An ability and willingness to work in a hybrid work environment is required.
International travel: The post holder will be required to undertake occasional international travel

Lia’s Wings is the only charity delivering life-saving aeromedical transfers by plane both within the UK and overseas. We make sure babies and children receive the vital treatment they need, no matter where they are. Alongside these urgent medical transfers, we provide tailored, wrap-around support for families to help them through a crisis, creating long-term improved health and well-being outcomes.
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team on a fixed-term 14 month contract (maternity cover).
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the management and delivery of our challenge events, special events and community fundraising streams, but the post-holder would also be expected to regularly support activities across our corporate partnerships, individual giving and Family Fundraising streams of fundraising too.
You will play a key role in developing these income streams, engaging our supporters to motivate them to fundraise for Lia’s Wings and creating initiatives that introduce new people to our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management
- To manage our Challenge, Community and Special Event fundraising streams to achieve set targets. This will include management of challenge events such as our flagship event, Ride for Lia, as well as London Landmarks and the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
- To manage our annual Air Ambulance Mingle and develop existing plans for a new Christmas Carol Concert
Corporate and Community Partnerships
- To assume account management of our smaller corporate and community partnerships (who are primarily engaged with us through event fundraising)
- To support the Director of Fundraising in the delivery of our larger corporate and community partnerships.
Supporter Engagement
- To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in year-on-year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting and feedback on outcomes of events.
- To build strong relationships with existing and new stakeholders, including event committees and our Board of Trustees.
Essential Experience and Skills
- A minimum of three years proven experience in a fundraising role, preferably in a challenge, community or special events fundraising role.
- Demonstrable ability to build relationships and effectively steward and support fundraisers to exceed their targets.
- Experience in writing and developing stewardship plans and in creating engaging fundraising collateral to support donors and supporters of all levels.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and managing fundraising evens from design to completion, including logistical planning, budgeting, forecasting, stewardship and evaluation.
- Experience working with fundraising committees and/or Trustee Groups.
Essential Skills:
- A strong communicator, able to confidently engage with stakeholders of all levels, internally and externally, to share our vision and maximise fundraising success.
- Excellent project management skills, with strong attention to detail, comfortable working across multiple-channels simultaneously.
- A team player, willing to be hands-on and involved in the day to day running of a small charity.
- Excellent understanding and application of relevant charity legislation and codes of conduct relating to these areas of fundraising.
