Responsibilities:

These include

1. To actively seek a thorough understanding of the membership base and the issues affecting them, creating member profiles and advising and briefing stakeholders accordingly.
2. To develop a compelling offer by profile / career stage so as to maintain and improve member retention and engagement levels, and to maximise new member acquisition.
3. To maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of services and activities and ensure these are being packaged and communicated in the most effective way.
4. To oversee the implementation of regular market research, including competitor analysis, to identify members/stakeholder needs, to support the rationale for the development of member products and services, and to liaise with and advise other stakeholders as appropriate.
5. To develop member communications in particular around membership renewals and the on-boarding of new members, and to ensure a high-quality member experience.
6. To ensure that membership communications at all touch points within the membership journey or as part of a non-member relationship, remain relevant and up to date.

Personal Specification: 

Essential skills, knowledge and qualities: 

1. Experience of working in a customer, member or client facing role

The role

We are looking for an energetic and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As Research Manager of Patient Programmes, you'll have a crucial role in advancing our mission. A central focus of this role is to develop and lead patient-centred educational programs, webinars, and content that ensure patients are well-informed, actively engaged, and empowered throughout their journey. You will also play a key role in strengthening the Foundation’s connection with patients and advocacy groups, ensuring their voices are meaningfully reflected in our research agenda and broader mission. A critical and growing area of work for the Foundation is the systematic gathering and use of patient insights and data. This role will help shape and deliver that work, ensuring that lived experience informs everything we do, from research to support initiatives.

You will also lead the project management of our scientific events from planning through to delivery, ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and within budget. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging events that foster collaboration and advance knowledge in the field.

Key responsibilities

Strengthening patient engagement and education

• Education: Lead the delivery of impactful, patient-centred educational initiatives such as webinars, polls, and video content to inform and empower people living with FL, their families, and carers, and align with the Foundation’s mission to accelerate progress toward cure.
• Strategy Support: Support the Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes to develop and implement a long-term patient strategy that drives lasting impact and supports the Foundation’s mission to find a cure.
• Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with FL patients, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to ensure patient perspectives shape our programmes and research priorities with a clear line of sight to cure.
• Insights: Lead the systematic collection and analysis of patient insights and data to inform Foundation strategy, research funding, programme design and acceleration to cure.
• Strengthen the Patient Voice and Community Engagement: Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure the patient voice is heard and reflected in content, using accessible language and social media to drive engagement and connection across the FL community. Champion the integration of lived experience across the Foundation’s work, helping to ensure that real-world needs and voices are reflected in our outputs and outcomes.
• Impact Measurement and Evaluation: Support in the design and lead the delivery of impact measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of patient engagement, education initiatives, and programme outcomes.

Planning and management of scientific events

• Scientific Event Management: Lead the end-to-end project management of scientific events, conferences, and symposiums, ensuring smooth execution, timely delivery, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Patient Voice Integration: Ensure the patient voice is actively integrated into event planning and content, fostering meaningful collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and the patient community.
• Event Content Development and Impact Reporting: Coordinate development of workshop and conference materials, and support comprehensive outcome reporting to capture key insights and inform future initiatives.

Other duties

• Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop materials for engaging donors. Provide research insights and data to support fundraising efforts, grants and donor communication.
• Work in alignment with the Foundation’s values and maintain the reputation and standing of the Foundation.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an energetic and empathetic individual with a proven track record of working closely with patient communities, particularly within cancer or related health fields. The ideal candidate will be passionate about amplifying the patient voice and ensuring lived experience drives research and education efforts.

The DRIVE Service Manager will be responsible for mobilising the expansion project across London, working closely with all Boroughs and te Drive Central Team.

The DRIVE Team (Case Managers and Team Leaders) will develop and co-ordinate an individual, multi-modal intervention plan for each Service User, which will incorporate support and/or disruption strategies; a pro-active approach to Service User engagement and commitment to working towards attitudinal and behavioural change, whilst keeping the victim’s safety central to any interventions implemented. The Service Manager will seek to ensure this role is carried out fairly, and take organisational responsibility for risk.

The DRIVE Service Manager will also line manage DRIVE Team Leaders and Case Managers where needed

Management and Development:

· Provide each Team Leader/Case Manager with monthly Case Management Supervision.

· As part of the monthly Case management supervision process, the Team Leaders and Case Manager should be given the opportunity to discuss Service User cases; exploring concerns, reviewing assessment decisions and developing a collaborative individual intervention plan.

· Ensure that the service is managed in accordance with its governing documents from the DRIVE case management manual.

· Provide annual appraisal and regular support and supervision reviews to ensure that great performance is recognised; and that poor performance, and welfare issues affecting performance, are addressed. Offering Clinical Supervision as necessary.

· Support, manage and develop Team Leaders and Case Managers, promoting wellbeing and growth within their roles.

· Ensure Team Leaders and Case Managers maintain safeguarding training up to date in line with local protocols.

· Ensure Team Leaders and Case Managers attend all training delivered by RESPECT and other relevant training.

· Ensure that all safeguarding and critical incidents are reported in a timely manner following the appropriate protocols.

Management and Performance:

· Provide routine reports to the Project Director, funders and stakeholders so that they can assess the overall performance of the service.

· To ensure that the required data is recorded on the Drive case management system, so that the evaluation, performance management and service learning is maximised.

· Represent the service at local and national events; deliver training and presentations as appropriate in partnership with the Project Director.

· Contribute to the learning from the Drive Pilot through service reviews, working with the Drive Evaluators, supporting the Drive Partnership in addressing implementation and ongoing delivery

Strategic Management

· Develop and maintain links with other agencies, both as an individual and as a service; developing protocols, referral procedures, skills sharing and joint working with external partners as appropriate.

· Attend and partake the Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Panel (DAPP) and MARAC meetings.

· Supervision sessions will be recorded on the Case Management Supervision pro- forma, and form part of the quality assurance and staff support and supervision processes as well as informing the personal and professional development of the Team leader Case Manager.

· Ensure that Team Leader and Case Managers’ files and records are accurate and complete, submitted at the appropriate data collection milestones and that both are kept and are in compliance with General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and meet IMR (Internal Management Report for Domestic Homicide Reviews DHR) recording standards.

· Maintain an accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication in compliance with GDPR 2018.

Mental Wellbeing Manager

Job Summary:

The Mental Wellbeing Manager will lead Manor Gardens’ culturally competent, trauma-informed mental health work with young men aged 18–25 funded by City Bridge Foundation, and oversee our wider wellbeing programme, funded through other sources including individual giving. They will be responsible for delivering early intervention and therapeutic support for young men from Black and minoritised backgrounds and refugees and asylum seekers, while also managing the delivery of a broader programme of community wellbeing activities for adults.

The postholder will line-manage two Activities Workers and have oversight of a pool of sessional staff and volunteers delivering peer support, group activities, and therapeutic interventions. Role Overview and Purpose:

The Mental Health Nurse is a key member of our team, focused on delivering high-quality mental health services to young men in the community. This role requires a proactive approach to engage with individuals who have not previously accessed mainstream mental health support, using culturally sensitive methods to build trust and promote mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

1. City Bridge Mental Health Programme Delivery (50%)

· Ensure the effective delivery of therapeutic and early intervention support for young men aged 18–25, including one-to-one and group support.

· Oversee work delivered by sessional psychotherapeutic staff and ensure quality, safeguarding, and continuity.

· Facilitate or coordinate safe, inclusive peer support spaces in community settings.

· Use culturally competent and trauma-informed practices to build trust and engagement among the target group.

· Conduct initial screening or assessments where appropriate and manage referrals to statutory and specialist mental health services.

· Collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead and Evaluation Lead to ensure the quality, safety, and effectiveness of delivery.

2. Recruit, train and support Peer Mentors

· Recruit two cohorts of 8 young bilingual adult men and women from Black, minoritised and refugee backgrounds, who have lived experience of mental ill health, exploitation, violence or traumas related to their experience of migration.

· Oversee the accredited training of 16 young adults as Peer Mental Health Mentors (two cohorts) in partnership with CANDI and ensure additional training in safeguarding, cultural competency and equalities

· Provide 121 support to Peer Mental Health Mentors and ensure they access clinical supervision

3. Management of Wellbeing Team and Sessional Staff (20%)

· Line-manage two Activities Workers responsible for delivering adult wellbeing activities (e.g. gardening, yoga, ESOL, conversation cafés).

· Provide supervision, direction, and support to ensure delivery aligns with MGWT’s values and trauma-informed approach.

· Oversee a pool of sessional facilitators and volunteers, ensuring coordination, safeguarding, and quality of delivery.

· Support co-production and ensure wellbeing activities are shaped by the voices of service users with lived experience.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation (10%)

· Maintain accurate records of all therapy sessions, assessments, and referrals.

· Collect and analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of mental health interventions.

· Work with partners at Metropolitan University to ensure the external evaluation of the service.

· Contribute to the development of evaluation reports and share findings with key stakeholders including the All-Age Mental Health Partnership Board and Locality Leadership Boards.

5. Partnerships and Community Engagement (5%)

· Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners (e.g. CANDI, MIND, housing providers, youth and refugee organisations).

· Represent MGWT in borough-wide forums (e.g. All-Age Mental Health Partnership Board, Bright Lives Alliance).

· Promote the service through local outreach, events, and communication with community partners.

6. Organisational and Other Duties (5%)

· Contribute to MGWT-wide initiatives and cross-organisational learning and planning.

· Attend internal meetings, training, and working groups.

· Undertake other duties as reasonably required to support the effective functioning of MGWT services.

· A recognised qualification in mental health or psychological support (e.g. RMN, PGDip in Psychotherapy or Counselling, Occupational Therapy (Mental Health), or other UK-recognised accreditation).

· Experience delivering trauma-informed and culturally competent support.

· Proven experience facilitating group and 1-to-1 support in community settings.

Knowledge and Skills

· Understanding of structural and cultural barriers to accessing mental health support.

We have ambitious plans and the Head of Fundraising will make a significant contribution to future growth; you will manage the Fundraising and Events team with oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head of Fundraising will contribute to upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. You will use clear, creative written communication to produce convincing cases for support, represent the charity at relevant networking events, work closely with the upReach Development Board and act as an ambassador for the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). You will work closely with  the Head of Partnerships, CEO, Programmes and Finance teams and other colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team.

The core responsibilities include: 

Leadership and strategy 

• Lead fundraising and philanthropy to realise financial targets (2025/26: £2.45m).

• Securing 5 and 6 figure gifts. 

• Inspire staff and volunteers to excel and achieve, champion the upReach values.

• Commit to the annual appraisal process and develop stretching, SMART OKRs (objectives and key results) to meet our strategic goals. 

• Deputise for the Director in their absence and play an key role in the Income Generation & External Engagement Leadership Team.

• Lead the strategic and operational planning process for the functional areas of responsibility and ensure the involvement of relevant stakeholders. 

• Keep abreast of developments, changes in trends, new techniques and legislation. 

• Ensure planned activity is delivered in compliance with relevant charity law, other legislation, best practice and corporate policy.

• Act as a senior sounding board to ensure strategic decisions regarding donors and funders resonate with our objectives and mission.

Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

• Develop and foster effective relationships with key external contacts at all levels, e.g. donors, supporters, suppliers.

Developing, maintaining systems and procedures

• Lead the team to grow and develop the burgeoning major donor portfolio. 

• Work with the Alumni Team to identify opportunities to sustainably grow the individual giving pipeline, including beneficiaries. 

• Develop a legacies strategy and oversee delivery of awareness campaigns.

Events

• Lead the team on the delivery of a sector-leading events portfolio, to include income-generating events, and the Student Social Mobility Awards (SSMA’s).

• Engage, steward and motivate key stakeholders including the Development Board, Patrons, potential event committee members and other high value volunteers to grow our network and deliver successful fundraising events.

Trusts, Foundations & Corporates

• Oversight of Trusts, Foundation & Corporate fundraising strategy.

• Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager to identify and build relationships with Companies, Trusts and Foundations which are mission and/or programme aligned.

• Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships to build strategic relationships with companies that grow philanthropic and commercial income. 

• Support the acquisition of new, multi-year philanthropic funders and existing donors.

Other

• Regular out of office work may be required in order that the organisation is able to deliver on its commitments to its stakeholders

The Senior Prospect Research Manager will lead the Prospect Research function at the Foundation, with support and direction from the Head of Philanthropy.  
 

You will be accountable for the ongoing development and delivery of the Prospect Research strategy, BE involved in and oversight of other policies and processes related to our pipeline growth and development, involving due diligence, gift acceptance protocols, database management and business planning.  
 

The Prospect Research function will be made up of this role and one Prospect Research Manager, who will report into you. Together, you will ensure that quality prospects are identified, researched and allocated to portfolios in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams. You will lead on our approach to prospect analytics, using data to evaluate fundraiser and programme performance, spot trends and opportunities and improve the efficiency of the team’s activity.

Our fundraising department has recently entered a period of ambitious growth and will shortly be launching a significant capital campaign for our children’s hospital.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join as our Senior Prospect Research Manager, and the right candidate would have significant scope and autonomy to shape this role and our future Prospect Research strategy.

Working Environment: 
 

The post holder should expect to: 
 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.  
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the ongoing development and delivery of the prospect research strategy to generate prospects for identified priorities and to strengthen gaps in the prospect pipeline.  
• Implement the prospect research strategy, alongside the Prospect Research Manager, ensuring that prospect identification targets are met, and team members invest regular time in working with key stakeholders to develop prospects.  
• Line manages one Prospect Research Manager, as part of leadership of the Prospect Research Function, ensuring collective objectives are met 
• Lead on the prospect research and development strategy for a significant capital campaign, which will involve increasing the volume and capacity of our pipeline. This role will drive forward this campaign prospecting strategy, alongside high value fundraisers, the Head of Philanthropy and the Director of Fundraising. Prospecting approaches will include desk research, network mapping of Trustees and other senior stakeholders, and engaging Campaign Board connections.  
• Work alongside our Legal team to implement and oversee our Due Diligence policies and processes.  
• Oversee the regular data mining of Raiser’s Edge to identify opportunities from amongst our warmest constituents.  
• Work closely with fundraising leads to develop the prospect pipeline, in particular building our networks of advocates and influencers. This will include attending meetings with clinicians and other key stakeholders. Qualify and allocate prospects identified by the team.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends.  
• Undertake strategy research which supports decision making relating to fundraising. This may include competitor analysis and feasibility work.
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 1998/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to shape annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Provide the highest quality research activity which adds the most value to fundraising. This might include identifying training needs and formulating training sessions for the team.  
• Regularly network with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Using data analytics techniques, implement processes and procedures which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of prospect research and prospect identification activity. 
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Head of Philanthropy in embedding a performance culture – including tracking identification, prospect movement, conversion rates and cleansing the pipeline on an ongoing basis.  
• Take a lead role in using data visualisation techniques to bring new insight to major gifts and prospect pipeline data which informs fundraising strategy. 

Experience 

• Highly experienced Prospect Research professional, ideally having led delivery of prospect research strategies  
• Experience of driving high value pipeline growth, contributing to increased income generation  
• Experience of prospect/ data analytics.  
• Experience of effective internet and electronic research with the ability to analyse and objectively assess the relevance of information to fundraising activity  
• Experience of line management

Job Title: Partnerships Manager

Reports to: Senior Partnerships Manager

Location: Hybrid work with 40% from Breaking Barriers’ offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow

Salary:  £33,000 - £39,000 for London, £31,000 - £37,000 for other locations

Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 hours), open to flexible working arrangements

Overall purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the national development and delivery of our relationships with the private sector to maximise income and impact to support refugees into meaningful employment.

The main purpose of the Partnerships Manager role is to deliver first-class account management and development of corporate partnerships to drive Breaking Barriers mission.

Working closely with Senior Partnerships Managers, Head of Corporate Partnerships, and members of the Income & Engagement and Services Directorates, you will be responsible for launching, retaining and developing a portfolio of partnerships ensuring we deepen and strengthen relationships whilst identifying opportunities for growth.

You will play your part in delivering and developing strategic relationships to bring value to our refugee clients and our employment and education programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience managing corporate partner relationships, including making fundraising asks and managing external communication with donors and partners at all levels of seniority. You will deploy your influencing skills and ability to build profitable relationships to great effect as you take a leading role identifying and nurturing future strategic partnerships. An understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility would be advantageous.
