The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for their rolling calendar of supporter -led events and activities. You will provide tailored support for all community group fundraisers including but not restricted to schools, universities and religious organisations.

About Trade

Trade Sexual Health (Trade for short) is a small health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We currently have eight staff and more than 40 volunteers.

Trade began as a grassroots gay community response to HIV in Leicester in the late 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, Trade worked creatively to spread information about sexual health and HIV prevention to gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men in the city (GBMSM).

Trade has been a registered charity since 2000. Over the last 25 years, our core work has focused on improving the sexual health of gay and bisexual men across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We have always taken a holistic approach to understanding and addressing the range of issues that might impact gay and bisexual men’s ability to look after their sexual health. As a result, we started a counselling service – Approach Counselling – to support community members in improving their mental wellbeing.

We now draw on this experience to tackle wider health inequalities related to sexual health and HIV, and to provide peer support for anyone living with HIV in the areas where we work. For a small charity, Trade has always ‘punched above its weight’ and we have a national profile for the innovative sexual health work we do.

We currently hold contracts to deliver sexual health promotion and HIV prevention outreach in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland to LGBTQ+ people, asylum seekers, and a range of racialised communities that experience significant inequalities in relation to their sexual health.

We have a history of providing peer support to people living with HIV, and this is now becoming a growing strand of our work. This post is central to the delivery of HIV Peer Support in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (and builds on our experience of delivering similar services in Northamptonshire).

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver first-line peer support to people living with HIV, of all genders and backgrounds, in Leicestershire. The postholder will be based at the Trade offices in central Leicester and will work closely with clinical staff at the Jarvis Clinic at Leicester Royal Infirmary. They will ensure that people who have been recently diagnosed, are struggling with their diagnosis, or are re-engaging with HIV care feel supported and have the information they need to live well and thrive with HIV.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), bringing personal knowledge and experience to the role.
• Collaborate with a small group of volunteer peer mentors to support people living with HIV.
• Assist in recruiting new volunteers and ensure patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched with suitable mentors.
• Support individuals in developing self-management strategies, addressing stigma, reducing social isolation, and improving wellbeing.
• Develop a catalogue of services, groups, and support options for signposting.
• Encourage engagement with HIV treatment and care, improving ART adherence and promoting viral suppression.

Job Activities

• Triage new patients to identify specific support needs.
• Coordinate appointments between mentors and mentees.

Finance Officer - Purchase Ledger

The Finance Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and providing timely and accurate financial information. The team provides support and advice on all finance matters to staff within all other teams in the Charity and is responsible for ensuring there is a strong financial control environment.

This role is focused on the purchase ledger and working both independently and collaboratively to ensure that the purchase ledger is maintained accurately and promptly, as well as carefully following all controls and procedures in place. The purpose of this role is to ensure:

• accurate figures within Microsoft Business Central (BC) for both internal reporting and analysis and for statutory reporting such as yearend accounts

• prevention of fraud or incorrect payments

• timely payments to ensure no delay to ARUK goods and services received, and no implication for supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of purchase ledger

· Make day-to-day decisions about the purchase ledger such as prioritising payments and workload to ensure purchase invoices are paid within agreed timescales.

· Regularly review all purchase ledger accounts to ensure that there are no outstanding issues such as non-payment, missing invoices, mismatched or unmatched entries.

· Make correcting entries as required where errors are identified within the purchase ledger area.

· Regularly liaise with the Research team to ensure that the folder of invoices awaiting processing matches their records.

· Reconcile all debit balances on the purchase ledger and chase suppliers for any missing invoices.

· Identify and resolve any ad-hoc issues within the purchase ledger, escalating them to the manager if needed.

· Verbal checks of supplier bank account details where we are informed that details have changed, to safeguard against supplier fraud.

Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes

· Check purchase invoices received match purchase orders in BC.

· Where the purchase invoices match purchase orders, convert the purchase orders in BC to invoices, ready to be paid.

· Chase people responsible for raising purchase orders where they have not been raised previously, making sure they raise the purchase orders in accordance with documented procedures going forward.

· Investigate any discrepancies between purchase invoices and orders with the relevant budget holders.

· Check invoices for prepayments or fixed assets, clarifying with the person who raised the purchase order where needed, and post these in line with the documented procedures.

· Check purchase orders for administrative errors when converting to purchase invoices and correct where necessary.

· Post invoices and credit notes in BC, ensuring that prepayments and fixed assets are added correctly and advising others around the charity of criteria for these.

· Attach copy invoices to the purchase invoices in BC and ensure invoice filing is kept up to date for payment runs. 

· Follow the documented controls and procedures to pay invoices via payment runs and make additional ad hoc individual payments if required.

Month end reconciliations

· Maintain Fixed Asset register in excel and reconcile to BC, checking that balances are correct.

· Post acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets in BC.

· Maintain prepayments in excel and reconcile to BC, checking that outstanding balances are correct.

· Ensure purchase ledger is up to date for month end, i.e. all issues dealt with and balances correct or flagged to manager.

· Liaise with other team members to ensure clarity around purchase ledger cutoff for month end postings.

Office administration

· Respond to purchase ledger related emails in the Finance Team shared inbox and ensure these emails are filed appropriately.

· Year end audit assistance, collating documents for auditors and answering queries about transactions, controls and processes.

· Checking and approving of payments made by others in the team, e.g. refunds and expenses.

· Maintenance of all purchase ledger filing (on paper, computer files and within BC) to ensure proper records are retained and documents/information can be easily found.

· Regularly update shared process notes to reflect current processes.

· Make payments, keep basic records of payments in excel and perform checks on bank details for our joint venture company as instructed.

What we are looking for:

· GCSE in Maths at a grade C or above (4-9) or equivalent

· Knowledge of Excel functions and formulae

· Previous knowledge of finance systems

· Understanding of book-keeping and reconciliation work

● Document and showcase progress towards the goals of the Good Food Plan.

● Collaborate with national and local stakeholders, including public, private, and VCSE sectors, to develop and implement strategic food-related projects.

● Provide leadership on food policy within the council, aligning initiatives with broader city objectives such as sustainability, public health, and economic growth.

● Identify and pursue funding opportunities to ensure the sustainability of food systems initiatives.

● Represent Feeding Liverpool and Liverpool City Council at local and national events.

The Coordinator will support two crucial functions of the membership team. On the compliance side, the role will be the first point of contact for members, ensuring that member evaluations and associated tasks are coordinated effectively. On the services and prospecting side, the coordinator will engage with a diverse range of organisations working in sustainability, assisting in pitching and communicating clearly about the membership value, the application process and its requirements, as well as providing specialist services and support.

To be considered for this role, you will be highly organised with great attention to detail, be process oriented and committed to providing excellent customer service. You will enjoy working on a varied set of tasks related to different areas of the membership provision. Having gained a good level of work experience, you are familiar with process administration, customer service, and stakeholder communications. You have an interest in learning more about member compliance processes and service provision. This role is supported by two associate managers in the team.

Key responsibilities we will entrust you with:

Membership applications and compliance programme

• Deliver administrative tasks in the compliance programme and application process, including scheduling calls, sourcing and maintaining evaluator records of competence & conflict of interest
• Coordinate the application process for aspiring members, pre-assess completeness of applications, and provide process guidance and support throughout their application journey
• Coordinate independent external member evaluations and act as main point of contact, responding to enquiries
• Maintain and update the Salesforce Compliance portal (platform used to manage evaluations)
• Record and track data across various platforms, updating logs and content on the ISEAL website
• Coordinate information and produce reports / minutes in support of programme management, the ISEAL Membership Committee and strategic development of the compliance programme
• Contribute to systematic measurement and improvement of the compliance programme

 Services and member prospecting

• Act as the first point of contact and respond to enquiries about ISEAL, services and membership
• Schedule and co-lead prospect calls, taking notes and supporting follow up actions
• Support to develop and maintain effective relationships with members and prospect members, as well as key stakeholders related to the compliance programme
• Use and continually improve record-keeping systems, tracking customer relationships on Salesforce and support member/customer prospecting processes
• Coordinate customer relationships related to the ISEAL Insight subscription package, including recruiting new customers and supporting existing relationships, tracking payments, and coordinating delivery of content
• Support delivery of ISEAL’s training courses, including coordinating promotions, registrations and event logistics
• Deliver administrative tasks to support ISEAL’s tailored services processes, including preparing service agreements on contract management system and managing payments

General

• Assist in promoting best practice in use of IT, communications and knowledge management systems within projects, and support efforts to help bring about improvements
• Provide ad hoc support to organisation-wide initiatives, if needs arise

Experience, Knowledge and Attribute

• Experience working or interning in a support/administrative role, ideally in an international NGO, professional or membership organisation
• Some experience in a role encompassing customer service, communications or sales, with a focus on high quality services
• Strong organisational skills, with some experience with supporting administration, meeting coordination, logistics, contracts etc.
• Strong attention to detail, with demonstrated experience with proof-reading and record management or similar
• Confidence in using digital tools and systems, with a proactive attitude to improvements
• Good time management and ability to organise multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently
• Excellent written & spoken English, with proven ability to write clearly and concisely

As a Visitor Experience Assistant, you will have a variety of roles which will include:

• Proactive response to ensuring the highest possible visitor standards are maintained.

• Supporting activities, events, general museum operations and processing visitor bookings at admissions.

• Being a first aider and fire marshal. Training for both roles will be provided.

These are permanent, part-time roles working 1250 hours annually.
