Main Tasks:

Overview

In partnership with a second, and possibly third Leader, you will lead a Fire (Group) of 8-12 Young Explorers. Social Leader role is to ensure that all young people can develop and thrive on our expeditions. They provide additional support with pastoral care and behavioural management for young people, particularly those facing challenges. Social Leaders will have demonstrable experience of working with young people in residential environments.

We are embarking on our first ever online shop and we are looking for a volunteer with some experience in this area and the area of website support to help share the workload of managing enquiries to the shop. They will also be required to update new items as they become available and allocate orders as they come in to the relevant supplier and deal with any enquiries or complaints. This is a role that will grow as the shop does and is a creative fun role as you join a warm and welcoming team. Although remote there will be the chance to meet other volunteers at fundraising events throughout the year.  Saving Strays is run by volunteers only, please ensure that you are serious about volunteering and dedicating some of your free time to the charity.

Last year 786,574 people were offered information and support from Victim Support. As a Volunteer Case Worker (DA) you will provide specialist support services for young people affected by domestic abuse.

Volunteering with Victim Support and our STREET programme in Gloucestershire  

As a Volunteer in Gloucestershire your role will include:

• Supporting young people who have experienced domestic abuse
• You will receive specific specialist training around domestic abuse and supporting young people
• Work closely with our partner agencies such as GDASS and SARC
• Opportunity to attend events to represent Victim Support and our STREET service
• Being able to work from our office in Gloucester or from home depending on the need
• Training around our case management system
• Access to a Victim Support laptop and phone to enable you to update our systems and use a victim support email account to communicate with clients and referral partners

What do we ask of you?

In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:

• Be 18 years of age or over.
• Be able to volunteer for at least 7 to 14 hours per week, for at least 12 months. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit to two fixed days a week.
• Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes eleven virtual training days (including our core, safeguarding, children’s and domestic abuse training) as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.
• Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.
• Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Expenses

• All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.

What will I be doing?

Our amazing Activity Volunteers play a key role in supporting blind children and young people to take part in a variety of activities. These range from sports, creative (singing, performing, art), audiobook club and day trips. The skills you have developed in your career and personal life will be invaluable to our young people.

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need to have volunteered or worked before as full training will be provided. Solta o Jogo is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a dedicated Admin Assistant to support the day-to-day coordination and administrative operations behind this exciting and community-driven programme.

The Admin Assistant will play a vital role in supporting communication, event coordination, documentation, and volunteer tracking. Supporting Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the Local Community

At GARAS, some of our clients need extra support to attend important appointments, such as interviews, doctor visits, or meetings at unfamiliar locations. We are currently looking for compassionate and reliable volunteer transport worker to help with these transportation needs.

What the role involves:

• Accompanying clients to appointments

• Using your own car to help clients access key services

• A full driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle

Rainforest Trust UK is seeking a Volunteer Research Assistant to support our fundraisers with identifying and researching potential new donors, other funders and advocates. • Supporting volunteers with sight loss with their volunteering activities which range from facilitating a regular community group to delivering a talk about sight loss to a local business. Your role would involve things like guiding; Meeting and greeting at group activities or creating a welcoming and interesting display stand at events.

In this role you will only be helping individuals in places open to the public, often in a group setting. We will provide training in sighted guiding techniques and understanding sight loss.
