In addition to the generic responsibilities and skills required of Board members, Marwell requires someone who can demonstrate extensive charitable fundraising expertise, at a Director or Chief Executive level. Ideally, they will have relevant experience of fundraising governance, major giving and large-scale capital appeals. This role, like many Board appointments, is non-executive but critical in our overall governance, leadership and understanding of best practice.

• To work with the Board, CEO, Directors and senior leadership to embed a culture of fundraising throughout the organisation.
• To provide strategic overview and advise the Board on fundraising governance, compliance and regulation, in support of the senior management team.
• To actively harness the energy and contacts of all trustees to support fundraising initiatives, through appropriate use of their networks, sources and their presence at fundraising and other events.
• To support the fundraising team, as appropriate, on fundraising strategy and activities.
• To support the creation of and take a leading role in a new ‘Development Board’
General
• Participate in supporting and regularly reviewing the strategic aims and operational progress of the organisation.

Would you welcome the opportunity to ensure neurodivergent young people and adults, people with learning disabilities and their families, lead healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives?
Would you be interested in becoming a Trustee and applying your skills, expertise, and knowledge to ensure we have a brighter and more sustainable future and continue to grow to meet the ever-increasing need and changing demands of the community we serve?
If the answer to these questions is YES, we would love to hear from you.
Hamelin was founded 40 years ago by two families raising children with learning disabilities, in order to provide life-enriching support that was not readily available, affordable, or easy to access for families just like them. This mission still drives us today and sits at the heart of what we do.
We proudly support families and the community across Essex through our specialist and community outreach services. Our aim is to help the people we support to navigate all aspects of their life; providing care and access to training, employment and leisure opportunities, together with respite for families in need of a much-valued break.
We also have an eye on the future and seek to appoint two new trustees to our board, a dedicated, passionate, and high-performing team who are incredibly proud of being part of Hamelin Trust.
We are looking for individuals who can help us sharpen our thinking and bring new and diverse voices and backgrounds within CARE or INCOME GENERATION to support, drive, and help us deliver our plans.
Previous experience as a Trustee is not necessary, as we are committed to full and appropriate induction, mentoring, training, and support for all new Trustees.

Imagine Barawak as a living, thriving tree. Our verticals are like the main branches—each one strong and important, reaching out in its own direction but all connected to the same trunk, our community's mission. These four powerhouse teams each have a special job:
• The Fundraising and Financial Management vertical covers fundraising and money matters: This team is all about finding resources—like getting donations and grants—to keep our programmes strong and healthy. They will spend their time writing fantastic letters, sponsorship proposals and funding requests on behalf of Barawak as a whole, but also (supporting programme leads) to specific organisations for Barawak service lines.

• The Marketing Outreach and Advocacy vertical covers spreading the word: They tell our story far and wide, making sure everyone knows what we're up to and how they can join in.
Each vertical team works in two distinct ways: the first way is for Barawak as a whole, and the second way is in support of each Barawak service, feeding our programmes, like roots bringing water and nutrients to the branches. Whether it's Poverty Relief, Education, Employment Support, Community Engagement or Sports and Wellness, these verticals give the support each programme needs to blossom and bear fruit. Working together, they make sure we're all pushing in the same direction—towards a future where our community stands tall and proud.
