When people suspect they have Lyme disease, their first port of call is a health professional (HP), yet HP knowledge of Lyme disease tends to be low. The Lyme Resource Centre has been increasingly attending HP conferences to raise awareness. However, we now need help to make our approach to these events more streamlined, efficient with an experienced events specialist to help support the rest of the team so they can concentrate on presentation content etc. Whilst the major focus is HP conferences, there are 1-2 other major events where event support is also needed. Previous experience in events coordination is essential.
Key responsibilities seen as:
Overseeing co-ordination of LRC events (e.g. HCP conferences, Parliamentary events, big public conferences)
Completing admin, paperwork (contracts, insurance, invoicing etc.)
Liaising with event organisers
Monitoring event status, progress & costs
Designing processes, policies that facilitate event organisation and advise Trustees on how to evolve event management
Organising post-event follow-up emails
Advising LRC team members of required actions, deadlines
Organising printing, materials, equipment for event as required (working with materials specialist?)
Liaising with team members, project leaders, Trustees, treasurer

Introduction
The Passage is establishing a new Special Events Fundraising Committee to support the Senior Events and Community Manager, with the primary goal of growing income from Special Events and attracting new supporters to The Passage.
Purpose of the Committee
- The purpose of the committee is to support The Passage’s Senior Events and Community Manager in delivering successful fundraising events that generate significant income and expand The Passage’s network of supporters. Specifically, the Committee will:

The role: Our scholars are eager to meet graduates and professionals who can support them in achieving their ambitions. Mentors are mainly responsible for providing support and career advice to pupils. The goal of the project is to help reinforce and enhance London’s green belt, and use hedgerows and related engagement activities to help people in greenspace-deprived areas - which also have indicators of social deprivation, mental health issues and poor air quality - to connect with nature. All activities will be designed to be inclusive, allowing a wide range of people the opportunity to engage in hands-on conservation work and gain appreciation of the natural world in their local area. In summary: help us to introduce, restore and maintain hedgerows in London’s green belt, in cooperation with Friends-of groups and community-level volunteers.
The role of the Hedgerow Heroes Coordinator will be to:
- Help research new project opportunities (planting sites, partners etc)
- Work in a friendly team to help co-ordinate the planting / restoration of hedgerows all over London
- Administration and organisation of people and teams to meet planting session requirements
- Work alongside more experienced volunteers to learn project management skills to help you in your future career

What are we looking for?
Are you passionate about hedgerows and community engagement? Can you help us introduce, restore and maintain hedgerows in London’s green belt, in cooperation with Friends-of groups and community-level volunteers?
Time requirement: It is anticipated that this role would require 2 - 3 days per week, hybrid working, some onsite. However, this is flexible and can be discussed at interview.
The skills you need - our ideal volunteer will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Attention to detail and determination
- Skilled communicator who can demonstrate a passion for connecting people and the environment and inspiring communities to take local action.
- Conservation work or hedgerow planting and management would be an advantage
- Competent IT skills and organisation/admin experience
- A flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude
- An ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision
- An interest in environmental issues and enthusiasm for helping further CPRE London’s work
