REF-213 598
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented fundraiser to make a tangible difference to London’s landscape and its people.
Heritage of London Trust restores the buildings and monuments that tell the story of the city and the people who live within it. Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. We focus on sites at risk in areas of least investment - in local communities that most need our help - ensuring a sustainable future for every project we work on. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.
In 2020 we launched our ground-breaking Proud Places youth programme to inspire and engage young people with the world around them, helping them develop knowledge and skills now and for the future. We work with mainstream schools across London and are the only UK heritage organisation to specialise in working with excluded pupils, young people at risk of gang exploitation and young refugees. To date we have worked with 6,000 young people and the programme continues to expand.
As our programme work has grown, so has our team and investment into our fundraising capability. We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. Our Board of Trustees are committed and well connected, many of them are generous personal donors. We steward our supporters through a series of high-quality events such as intimate lunches, VIP behind-the-scenes visits, site based workshops and expert-led conferences.
We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who shares our ambition and drive and is excited to work closely with a dedicated and collaborative team while enjoying autonomy to build on our great work to date. Based in a vibrant newly developed impact-hub for charities who work with young people, this role will work in partnership with senior peers in communications and programmes, alongside a fundraising assistant and the Chief Executive, who herself was a professional fundraiser.
The role would be suited to an experienced relationship fundraiser looking to step up or into a role with exciting growth opportunities, or could suit an experienced relationship based sales or communication professional looking to pivot their career and make a positive social impact. Regardless of your background, with support and collaboration, this is an incredible opportunity to spread your professional wings and help drive our growth, reach and impact.

The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation is looking for an experience, ambitious and tenacious fundraiser to build impactful partnerships with local businesses.
We are an independent local charity which was founded in 2008 and we're now in an exciting phase of growth. We want to increase our profile, our income and, most importantly, our impact. While our borough is often associated with wealth and affluence, it also has areas of severe deprivation. 33% of children in K+C are eligible for Free School Meals, life expectancy between residents from different wards varies by nearly 2 decades and in-work poverty has increased by 46% since 2020. Our vision is of a borough where every resident has the opportunity to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives. We identify and support impactful local projects which improve the lives and life chances of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged residents.
We play a key role in responding to emergencies in our community such as the tragedy at the Grenfell Tower and the Covid-19 pandemic, alongside our longer-term work with some of the most disadvantaged communities in the borough to improve wellbeing and opportunities.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager fulfils a key function within our small team, with responsibility for managing our relationships with local businesses and schools to increase our annual income. The role is part time - 4 days per week and we are willing to consider flexible working options.
If you are an experienced fundraiser please download full role profile before applying via the supporting documents below.
Please upload your CV and a cover letter outlining why this is the role for you and what experience you have to date.
The closing date for applications is Friday 3rd May 2024.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
About the role:
Do you want to play a key role developing and delivering partnerships to support Peer Power Youth’s mission, which is “to enhance the lives of young people dealing with trauma and work with them to create positive change in services for others”? The young people we connect with at Peer Power Youth are at the heart of all we do, and we are looking for someone who shares our vision, passion and commitment to see a world where ALL young people can achieve their dreams and live their best life.
Experience – Proven track record of either corporate partnerships/CSR or major donor/philanthropy fundraising, or both. You will be supported with training, mentoring and specialist contractor support to support your development.
You may be in a charity fundraiser role already, or from a different sector with transferable experience of business development or partnerships.
You will have autonomy in your role in a supportive and flexible environment, as well as having a collaborative team working with you, including the lead Co-CEO for income generation, youth engagement team managers, the Head of Communications & Marketing, a fundraising contractor (trusts and foundations) and two experienced lead Trustees for income generation and communications. See role description, person specification and application pack for more information.
Peer Power Youth has a successful track record of securing income from Trusts and Foundations and earned income through training sales, contracts and consultancy, which has enabled us to achieve individual impact for young people and tangible system change impact for thousands more children and young people.
Now is a great time to join Peer Power Youth. Last year we refreshed our brand and messaging, and we’ve started some of the groundwork needed to develop our Corporate and Major Donor income streams. We have great impact stories to share around the individual impact we have had, and the real tangible system change that has happened in youth mental health, social care and justice systems as a result of our work, that will go on to positively impact many thousands more young people! There is so much to engage potential corporate partners and donors with.
The successful candidate will have excellent commercial awareness, strong communication and inter-personal skills and a demonstrable track record in achieving income targets.
