The role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead our organisational efforts around income generation. The role is ideal for someone with experience in fundraising and/or business development interested in leading the work of a small but impactful and highly respected charity in the health and social care space.

At National Voices, fundraising responsibilities are shared across the organisation, so it is important that the successful candidate is able to work in a collaborative way with others and is just as happy with rolling up their sleeves and writing bids and supporting others to.

While your primary role will be raising funds for National Voices, you will need to be confident in acting as an ambassador for the organisation and in conveying who we are, what we do and the key priorities of our members and people who use health and care.

Responsibilities

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients

• Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.
• Ensuring we have access to relevant tendering frameworks.
• Maintaining a pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations.

Write and submit bids, and support others to

•  In some instances, leading on bid writing – drafting, costing and submitting high quality bids for both project and core funding.
• In other instances, buddying with staff members on bids – carrying out initial call with funders to check fit of projects, supporting with budget development, sharing previous relevant tender responses to support bid writing, supporting submission, leading on the social value response and more.

Support and co-ordinate fundraising efforts of the staff team

• Co-ordinating the triaging and prioritisation of funding bids within the team, in line with our strategic priorities.
• Matching project ideas from across the team with funding opportunities.
• Organising fundraising meetings and ensuring the organisational income generation tracker is up to date.
• Supporting members of the staff team to develop their business development and fundraising skills.
• ·Providing advice and support to the wider team on compliance with our organisational ethical fundraising policy, the ABPI code, the ABHI code and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Maintaining our rate card.

Maintain and develop relationships with prospective funders, clients and organisations we may wish to partner with on funded projects

•  Maintaining and developing relationships with grant funding teams at pharmaceutical companies – keeping them updated on our priorities and pitching potential projects for grant funding.
•  Alongside other managers and the Senior Management Team, maintaining and developing relationships with development teams at organisations we may want to partner with – consultancy firms, think tanks, research agencies and more.

Manage our partnership scheme

• Take lead responsibility for client management and renewals for organisations on our partnership scheme.
• Coordinate responses to partnership requests within our staff team. Co-ordinate, develop and oversee the delivery of  our partnership offer.

General

•   Line-manage staff, in the first instance our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer, to include appraisals,  setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development.
•  Review our income generation approach regularly and making suggestions for improvements, using insights from both successful and unsuccessful bids.
• Report progress on our income generation to the board on a quarterly basis.
• Take a pro-active approach to including our members and people with lived experience in all areas of our work.
• Follow processes set out to measure, monitor and communicate the impact of our work.
• Support good project, financial and data management.
• Contribute to the team’s planning activities and undertake other relevant duties as appropriate.
• Deputise for other members of the team when needed.
• Be prepared to take part in full day events, including providing planning and support.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Corporate Services to join our Senior Management Team and provide expert leadership of our Corporate Services Directorate, specifically our facilities, finance, IT and registration teams, as well as carry responsibility for audit, risk and assurance, and support our Audit, Risk and Finance and Investment Committees. Reporting to the Chief Executive and Registrar, this is a high-profile and satisfying role requiring credible and visible leadership, demonstrable business expertise and high attention to detail, underpinned by adherence to GOC values and active promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion, enabling everyone who works for the GOC to give their best for the maintenance of public confidence in the professions we regulate and the public we serve.

You will join our senior management team (SMT) at an exciting time. For the third year in a row we have met all 18 of the Professional Standards Authority’s (PSA) Standards of Good Regulation, and through harnessing the ideas and talents of all our people you will help successfully realise our new strategy ‘Safe and effective eye care for all’, alongside sharing collective responsibility for the GOC’s overall management and smooth operation, where our focus is to consolidate and extend our achievements in our ambition to be a world class regulator.

We are also making a significant investment from our reserves to improve our digital infrastructure. This includes implementing a new MyGOC platform, with the build phase just launched. We anticipate this will deliver improvements to our digital interface with our registrants, and to our ability to provide excellent customer-service. as well as facilitate positive operational improvements. Our digital-first strategy describes our ambitions for the next five years to be a digitally enabled, cyber secure organisation, including through the appropriate use of AI, ensuring all our people are fully supported in their use of our digital environment.

We have recently moved office into temporary accommodation at One Canada Square, with a second move planned into our new office in late June 2025. Your leadership of our facilities team will be central to managing this move, identifying and managing risks and capitalising on the opportunities a new office will bring to the development of our internal culture.

In addition, your strategic leadership of our expert finance team will ensure our effective financial management, regulatory compliance and optimisation of resources, and ensuring our financial resilience, and continuously improving and managing our financial capabilities so that we are best placed to finance our functions efficiently. the3million is the largest grassroots organisation for EU citizens* in the UK, formed after the 2016 referendum to protect the rights of people who have made the UK their home. 

Our work ranges from organising EU citizens’ communities and informing people about their rights, to holding the Government to account on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement and advocating for social justice.

We are now looking for a Research and Policy Manager to lead on evidence-based research and support in the analysis of government policy and legislation which impacts EU citizens in the UK. 

We are looking for a creative problem solver who is detail orientated and approaches research through an investigative lens. 

This work often intersects with the wider issues of social justice, migrant rights, race equality, and data rights. 

You will work closely with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to direct strategic research initiatives, presenting recommendations to influence decision-makers and guide advocacy efforts, ensuring the3million’s campaigns are informed and led by robust evidence of EU citizens’ lived experience. 

*the3million uses ‘EU citizens’ as shorthand for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens who were resident in the UK before 31 December 2020, and their family members (of any nationality) with derived rights.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

1. Strategic research and issue analysis

You will lead on the3million’s research, working closely with the Head of Policy and Advocacy to ensure our work is shaped by lived experience, analysing issues experienced by EU citizens related to applying for immigration status, proving their rights and accessing services in the UK. 

• Collect, analyse and categorise issues raised by EU citizens through the3million’s reporting channels, including highlighting correlations to equality characteristics such as race and ethnicity, age, gender etc (including our ReportIt! system, email, social media and listening campaigns). 
• Interview EU citizens who report issues, sharing information about rights, signposting to relevant legal advice organisations.
• Identify trends in the challenges faced by EU citizens, documenting these in detail, analysing systemic issues.
• Provide strategic guidance on how research findings can inform the3million’s advocacy, campaigns and communications activities.

2. Policy development and advocacy

• Contribute to the production of high-quality policy briefings, reports and strategic recommendations that are clear, actionable and directly relevant to stakeholders including the Government.
• Support in the research and analysis of government policy developments, legislative changes and public consultations affecting EU citizens in the UK, specifically on areas related to immigration and welfare, assessing their potential impact.

3. Report writing and presentation 

• Lead on the development of in-depth reports and support in the production of policy papers and position statements, presenting complex data into clear and accessible documents.
• Present research findings and policy recommendations at meetings and events, effectively communicating complex issues to audiences. 
• Contribute to the production of advocacy materials, including media briefings, campaigns’ resources and informational content for the3million’s website, social media channels and for event distribution.

4. Stakeholder engagement 

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations and other advocacy groups.
• Collaborate with other team members within the organisation to ensure research and policy recommendations are effectively integrated into the3million’s community organising activities, campaigns and strategic communications.

5. Monitoring and evaluation 

• Report on the progress and outcomes of research and policy activities regularly, within the organisation and to the3million’s funders.

About GMYF

GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.

GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. These Centres provide an ambitious and enriching curriculum for young people with a wide range of activities. We also jointly own an Outdoors Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. GMYF took on a management function for Norbrook Youth Centre, Wythenshaw from 1st May 2025, a previous affiliate member.

Youth Activites Lead - Main Purpose of the job

To lead day to day operations providing a ‘hands-on’ management role to play & youth workers, oversight of external providers delivering activities to young people at Norbrook. Leading and implementing an enriching youth work curriculum, quality assurance and health and safety standards, providing outstanding outcomes young people. Working with external partners and attending partnership meetings.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

1. Provide curriculum and quality assurance framework for youth work at Norbrook,  providing a vibrant enriching offer for young people including youth voice and residential activities

2. Provide regular one-to-one support, coaching and appraisal of direct reports including Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

3. Support the centre self-evaluation process to inform GMYF Self Improvement Plan

4. Support the wider running of the charity though attendance at meetings and events

5. Complete small scale funding bids to enhance the centre youth offer   

 Health and Safety: 

1. Ensure centres meet health and safety standards/regulations including daily site checks, kitchen hygiene, risk assessments, fire drills, accident, and complaints logs

2. Provide clear guidance to centre staff and user groups on safe and compliant systems to ensure a safe, fit for purpose centre

3. Oversee all off-site trips and visits ensuring they are risk assessed, supervised, staff are briefed and staff understand their roles and responsibilities

4. Ensure a record of young people, staff and visitors on site is maintained

5. Manage a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPE) ensuring centre remains compliant with current H&S requirements e.g. PAT testing, hygiene, shutters

6. Manage centre Assets Register

7. Hold responsibility for centres’ petty cash budget subject to approved limits

8. Line manage youth work team including Youthwork Lead

Curriculum/Safeguarding/Achievements:

1. To work with the Quality Assurance officer to plan and deliver an exciting and vibrant curriculum for children and young people, ensuring the needs of SEND are met

2. Maintain and update direct reports HR files

3. Approve and oversee the work of a range of support agencies to promote the well-being of children and young people e.g. Brook, Lifeline, NHS, Social Services

4. Lead and promote positive attitudes and high standards of performance for staff teams, using de-escalation skills to resolve issues in line with established policies

5. Set high standards for children and young people’s learning which support them to feel safe, ambitious, accepted and valued

6. Ensure recording of incidents, exclusions, interventions, actions taken on-site are managed in accordance with organisation policies and processes

7. Report and record safeguarding issues/concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Innovation:

• Design and deliver a fundraising strategy that scales ProVeg’s income from major donors, climate (and other relevant) foundations, and institutional funders.
• Identify and pursue new revenue streams aligned with our climate and food system mission.
  Collaborate with leadership to strengthen our theory of change, donor engagement frameworks, and funding cases.

Donor & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, corporate contacts and strategic partners.
• Represent ProVeg in donor meetings and high-level external events.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team and President in managing key donor relationships.

Team Leadership & Development:

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of senior-level fundraising experience, ideally with major donors and foundations in the US and/or Europe.
• Proven track record of securing six-figure + gifts, including new donor acquisition and multi-year commitments.
• Deep understanding of the climate philanthropy and/or food system transformation space.
• Experience working in international NGOs or with cross-country fundraising collaboration.

About Us

Safer Waves was set up in 2019 to provide support to merchant seafarers who have experienced sexual assault, sexual harassment or gender discrimination on board.

Safer Waves provides an anonymous email support service, run by volunteers who are trained in responding to disclosures of sexual violence, and who understand the specific challenges experienced when these events happen onboard a vessel.

We work with shipping companies, industry leaders, law enforcement and maritime training providers to raise awareness of sexual violence within the maritime industry, and to improve the support that is available to seafarers who experience it.

Job Purpose

For the first 5 years, Safer Waves has been a volunteer-led organisation. We are now in the exciting position of being able to recruit a CEO, and we are looking for an individual who has the passion to see this new organisation thrive in the maritime welfare sector.

As the head of a small and rapidly developing organisation, the CEO role will be extremely varied, with the opportunity to shape the organisational structure as needed. The CEO will work closely with the trustee board and Operations Manager to deliver the strategy, improve sustainability and financial resilience, manage risk and deliver high-quality services to our beneficiaries.

We are a growing organisation, and this is a unique opportunity to grow and innovate with the organisation and to contribute to our future success. Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

The CEO reports directly to the Trustee Board and is responsible for the following:

• Strategy: Shape and deliver the charity's strategy over the next five years, whilst also ensuring the day-to-day running of the charity remains effective.

• Finance: Maintain and develop relationships with funders, and find new funding streams for the charity. Prepare budgets and control spending accordingly.

• Risk management and compliance: Work with the trustees to ensure strong governance, including effective management of risks and compliance with current legislation.

• Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with international organisations including charities, shipping companies, law enforcement and government agencies among others.

• Line management: Manage staff and volunteers

• Communications and Outreach: Work with the Operations Manager, Trustees and volunteers to raise the profile of the charity and increase the number of seafarers reached

Purpose of job

To lead Wikimedia UK’s work with the education sector, focusing on secondary schools, and including universities and non-formal education. Create a step change in the scale and impact of our education work.

Main Duties

1. Programme Development and Delivery

• Lead on the development and delivery of Wikimedia UK’s education programme, in collaboration with the Director of Programmes and Evaluation and other colleagues
• Build on our learning from past and existing activities across Wikimedia UK and the wider movement to develop and roll out a new Wikimedia and information literacy programme for the UK’s secondary school sector; adapting this for the four nations as appropriate
• In conjunction with other Programmes staff, support the delivery of information literacy projects within higher education, through existing and new strategic partnerships as well as smaller projects and interventions such as Wikimedia in the Classroom courses
• Develop and deliver a range of information literacy activities
• Seek opportunities for new partnerships within the education sector, and grow existing relationships with potential delivery partners, for example within the cultural sector
• Work with the Development team and other staff to identify and follow up funding opportunities for existing or potential projects
• Support other staff within the Programmes team in their own work with the education sector

2. Sector Advocacy

• Promote the importance of media and information literacy skills to digital citizenship and civic engagement, and demonstrate Wikimedia’s value in developing those skills through running targeted interventions and disseminating our research and outcomes
• Advocate for a strong focus on media and information literacy skills in schools and university curricula, and work with other staff, partners and allies to campaign for public policy initiatives and investment to support these skills across society

3. Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact

• Run and evaluate the pilots of our work in schools
• Report regularly on programme plans, outputs and outcomes, in collaboration with other staff in the Programmes team
• Handle documentation and record all relevant programme metrics. Update CRM records for partnerships, volunteers and activities

4. Communication and Dissemination

• Write blog posts, create case studies, and generally contribute to the promotion and dissemination of our work and impact, in collaboration with the Communications team
• Engage in public speaking opportunities on behalf of Wikimedia UK in promoting our work, as required
• Engage with other Wikimedia organisations, sharing our education work and peer-learning

Purpose of the role

At NEON we believe that organising is crucial if we’re to build the power we need to win a new economy and deepen cross-community solidarity at a time of political polarisation. A central part of our new strategy - and this role -  is to support movement organisations and organisers to build their capacity to do what we call Transformative Organising - where we transform the conditions we live in, transform ourselves and transform who has power in society. We use a combination of trainings, 1-2-1 mentoring and strategic partnerships with movement organisations to give organisers the tools, skills and confidence they need to build a base with those at the sharp end of the crisis, develop politically conscious leaders, and plan strategic & escalating campaigns that win. You’ll work with our Head of Organising and colleagues in the Movement Building Hub to scale up this offer over the coming years, with a particular focus on the housing, climate and migration movements, as well as supporting movements to tackle a rising far-right. 

What you will be doing

1. Deliver organising trainings to social movement organisers and campaigners, using content from our Transformative Organising programme and working closely with our Head of Organising and NEON trainers. These will be a mix of shorter workshops and multi-day trainings, blending in-person and online delivery, and you will be supported to experiment with different delivery models to meet movement needs. 

2. Work in partnership with organisers, organisations and coalitions to build their organising capacity over the long-term, through ongoing mentoring and hands-on support and training.

3. Conduct extensive 1-2-1s with movement organisers, to strengthen relationships, explore opportunities for collaboration and understand movement needs. 

4. Support the development of a network of UK-based organisers, and create spaces for collective learning and ensure NEON’s organising offer meets the needs of organisers on the ground.

5. Work with the Head of Organising to periodically review and update NEON’s Transformative Organising content, staying responsive to movement needs and incorporating the latest organising practices and tools. 

6. Organise public events on organising topics, including webinars and workshops, bringing together organisers from across social movements

7. Contribute to the Movement Building Hub’s wider work, including the organising components of our Worker-led Transition programme and our work to build the strategic capacity of movement leaders and organisations. This role will also contribute to cross-organisational work in NEON’s key focus areas (migration, housing, climate, and tackling the rise of the far-right), as well as projects to support the development of NEON’s internal culture. 

Who you are
