Job description

The Board of Trustees of our impactful and ambitious global charity is seeking a new Finance Trustee to join them in 2022. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the success of  women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries and who has a track record in senior leadership, ideally board level in a non-profit organisation. The selected trustee will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the non-profit sector.

Since the Foundation’s inception in 2008, it has directly supported over 175,000 women across more than 100 countries. Through its combined approach of programmatic delivery and advocacy, the Foundation supports women to start and grow successful micro, small and medium businesses, with training, technology, mentoring and networking at the heart of its work.

This Trustee will work closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services to oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice. They will ensure proper records are kept , that effective financial procedures are in place, and will monitor and report to the Trustees on the financial health of the organisation. They will also engage with the CEO, auditors, and other key staff as required.

Our Board meets three times a year, and the Finance Trustee will Chair our Finance, Audit, and Risk (FAR) Committee which also meet three times a year.

Required information:

Time: Two three-year terms, with the option to extend for at least another term.

Location: Our office and staff are London based; however, Board and Committee meetings are often held remotely via zoom.
