Prisoners Abroad is a unique human rights and welfare charity providing advice and support to people affected by overseas imprisonment. We help British people during their incarceration, when they return to the UK and need resettlement services, and we also support their family throughout the trauma. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fundraising and communications team in a varied role supporting our fundraising efforts to ensure an integrated approach to generating income and supporter stewardship.
You will have some experience in an administrative or coordinator role, ideally within a fundraising or supporter‑focused environment, and a good understanding of how a busy team operates. You will be organised, detail‑oriented and keen to learn, with strong communication skills and a flexible approach to supporting evolving fundraising priorities.
With an eye for detail, you will be confident using a database and interested in developing your skills further with support from the team. You will be the first point of contact for supporter queries and will lead on the processing and reconciliation of income. You will also support our major donor fundraising and provide essential administrative support to the wider fundraising team.
We are a friendly team who work collaboratively across income streams and support each other closely in an environment where no two days are the same. This role would suit someone at an early stage in their fundraising career who is keen to build experience across a range of income streams in a supportive setting.

Assistant Finance Director (12–18 month FTC to begin)
A leading Housing Association in the area
A well-established and forward-thinking Housing Association is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to join on a 12–18 month contract initially. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position offers a unique opportunity to operate as the number two in finance, playing a key role in both strategic leadership and operational delivery.
The organisation provides a broad range of general and supported housing and is recognised for its commitment to delivering high-quality services and positive outcomes for its communities.
This role is ideally suited to a senior finance professional with Housing sector experience who is looking to step into a high-impact leadership role, driving improvements across people, processes, and financial insight.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance function, acting as deputy to the CFO
- Oversee financial and management accounting, ensuring robust reporting and controls
- Support financial planning, treasury activities, and development finance
- Drive a high-quality business partnering function across the organisation
- Lead on improving financial processes, systems, and internal controls
- Support the Executive team on business planning, including scenario modelling and stress testing
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven experience within a Housing Association or Registered Provider
- Strong leadership capability, with experience managing and developing teams
- Ability to operate at a strategic level and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent technical finance skills combined with a commercial, business-partnering mindset
- Strong analytical and systems capability, with confident communication skills

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Leadership team and help sustain and expand our programmes across Scotland.
Position: Country Director – Scotland
Salary: £53,836 - £59,012
Location: Hybrid with travel to Glasgow office at least once a week
Hours: 35 hours per week, full time

About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to join The Fostering Network as one of four Country Directors, working closely with the CEO to deliver organisational strategic objectives.
You will lead and manage our work in Scotland, making a vital contribution to improving the lives of foster families, children and young people in foster care, while supporting fostering services across the country.
Key responsibilities include:
· Overall management and leadership of our work in Scotland
· Driving forward the monitoring, impact and evaluation of our work
· Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships including government, fostering services and sector partners

About You
We are looking for a strategic, collaborative leader with extensive experience of the fostering sector.
You will bring:
· In-depth knowledge of foster care practice and children’s social care
· Experience working within statutory local authority social services
· A track record of leadership, line management and delivering change
· Experience of strategic planning, programme delivery and budget management
· Strong experience working with government officials and key stakeholders
· Excellent communication and relationship management skills
· The ability to inspire trust and credibility across a wide range of audiences
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
