Development Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Development Manager will play a vital role in expanding The Churchill Fellowship’s income from Trusts, Foundations, and other institutional funders. Working closely with the Development Director, the post holder will identify, cultivate and secure new funding partnerships that support our core Fellowship programme, unrestricted income, and the Activate Programme in line with our organisational priorities.
The postholder will manage the full funder journey, from initial engagement to long-term stewardship, ensuring all relationships are grown and managed professionally and effectively. They will work closely with relevant departments to coordinate proposals, reports, and communications, helping maintain strong connections with funders.
Key responsibilities
Prospecting and Pipeline Development
- Research and identify new potential supporters, primarily from the Trusts & Foundations sector, with some engagement of aligned individuals or family-foundation prospects in conjunction with the wider Development Team.
 
- Support the Development Director in delivering targeted cultivation and engagement strategies to grow new income streams.
 
- Build and maintain a healthy, dynamic pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
 
- Monitor sector trends to identify emerging supporters and new partnership opportunities
 
Approaches and Proposal Development
- Prepare tailored, persuasive funding proposals, applications, and cases for support, drawing on internal expertise and materials.
 
- Lead on initial engagement with new prospects, coordinating meetings, briefings and follow-up communications.
 
- Manage the cultivation process ensuring prospects receive timely and professional engagement throughout.
 
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are accurate, evidence-based and aligned with organisational objectives.
 
Relationship Management
- Act as the key contact for donors and funders secured through this role, managing relationships and ensuring continuity of communication.
 
- Work closely with the Development Director, Appeal Director and CEO to coordinate senior-level involvement in funder engagement where appropriate.
 
- Ensure accurate monitoring, evaluation and reporting for all grants, providing timely updates and impact information to funders. Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to identify when and how internal contacts or senior volunteers can support prospect engagement, ensuring this complements any existing relationships or approaches.
 
Internal Collaboration and Systems
- Record all activity in Salesforce, ensuring accurate data capture on all prospect and funder activity.
 
- Contribute to income forecasting and team reporting
 
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align fundraising approaches with strategic initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and shared priorities.
 
General
- Ensure fundraising activity complies with relevant regulations, GDPR, and due diligence processes and ethical fundraising policies
 
- Support Development team events and activities as required, occasionally outside normal working hours.

Qualification:
- Degree level or equivalent transferable skills - Desirable
 
Skills and Experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a fundraising, grants or donor facing role, particularly prospecting new funders
 - Proven success in securing funding from Trusts & Foundations or HNWIs, particularly new business (one-off or multiyear grants and repeat grants)
 - Strong experience in research & prospect identification for trusts/foundations or major donors
 - Excellent proposal/application writing, with ability to tailor cases to funder priorities
 - Good interpersonal and communication skills — able to engage funders at senior levels and with colleagues internally
 - Strong organisational skills, managing multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously
 - Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and using it to manage pipeline / prospect data
 - Ability to interpret and present information (budgets, impact data, reports) clearly to funders and internal stakeholders

PURPOSE OF POSITION
This is a critical operational leadership role that is responsible for the operation of the
organisation’s supported accommodation services.
Providing operational leadership to team managers and ensuring compliance with
organisational, contractual, local authority and legal regulations and the quality of
services is pushed to the highest possible standards; ensuring excellent outcomes for
residents and a positive and high performing working environment for teams.
This role will also be accountable for the development of excellent relationships with
external partners, commissioners, and other key stakeholders for support services in
the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Service Delivery
• Lead in setting organisational standards and performance targets across the
support and resident services teams that reflect contractual requirements and
organisational standards.
• Actively promote and develop person centred practices based on a trauma
informed approach and psychologically informed environment to working with
residents with high support needs and challenging behaviour.
• Be accountable for the operational performance of the services, allocating
resources strategically to ensure that key performance indicators are achieved
and that action plans are in place where required to improve service

For one of the UK's leading Housing Associations, we're recruiting their Supply Chain Director. Reporting to the CFO, this is a key leadership role leading the strategic transformation of Supply Chain management across the organisation. The Supply Chain Director will lead a central team of 4, whilst working strategically with the wider Heads of Procurement and Commercial teams to set the Supply Chain strategy, and develop, embed, and continuously improve the Supply Chain framework across 4000 suppliers and £1.5Bn spend.
Main Duties:
- Leading and setting the strategic plan for Supply Chain, operating within a 'hub and spoke' model
 - Lead the development of a robust category management approach (which will be delivered by 'spokes') to streamline vendor relationships and reduce risk
 - Develop Group-wide Supply Chain framework (end-to-end), ensuring alignment to corporate strategy, legislation and category management

The Sales and Insights Manager leads on the management and development of the CRM database and ticketing system (Tessitura). The Marketing & Communications team is crucial to the success of the Almeida’s ambitious vision and the strategic priorities for the team include:
- Build and manage the brand of the Almeida Theatre across London, the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
CRM:
- Lead on management of Almeida’s central CRM database, Tessitura, and act as principal point of contact with Tessitura for all system maintenance, development, and upgrades.
 - Work closely with the Marketing and Development teams to maximise the use of our CRM systems and ensure they are fit for purpose and align with the goals of the organisation.
 - Ensure the CRM provides an effective sales funnel and is an efficient sales process.
 - Work with the Box Office Manager to set up on-sales for new productions and events.
 - Update the information and content in TNEW (online booking system), working Box Office Manager to ensure a smooth sales path.

 - Provide up-to-date data analysis and reporting on marketing activities to help improve the effectiveness of campaigns.

The Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team works with young people facing homelessness to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education. This crucial work helps change us to the inter-generational narrative about numeracy in the UK. The programme has been running for three years now, and this year’s activity looks set to have meaningful impact on at least 17,000 children across the UK.
You will be responsible for ensuring that volunteers are adequately trained, for recruiting appropriate schools for them to visit, and all the admin and reporting that supports the programme.
