Our Midlands team has a new opportunity for an Executive Officer. You will be responsible for supporting effective grant-making across the region, helping us to distribute over £60m to good causes throughout the area.

As an Executive Officer, you’ll be part of a driven and passionate team, led by a Senior Head of Regional Funding. Within the team there is 1 Senior Grant Making Manager, 8 Funding Managers and 26 Funding Officers.

Reporting to the Senior Head of Regional Funding, you will work on a hybrid basis, working both remotely and spending some of your time in the Birmingham office (located near Five Ways). There will also be some occasional travel to other locations across the region throughout the year.

Organising will be at the heart of your role, and you will be in regular contact with the team across the region. The key duties of the role include:

• Supporting the Senior Head of Regional Funding, Senior Grant Making Manager, Funding Managers and their teams.
• Administration of our grant-making database using Salesforce.
• Diary management for the Senior Head of Regional Funding and Senior Grant Making Manager.
• Organising, supporting and minuting a range of regular online and face-to-face meetings.
• Responding to customer enquiries made to the region.
• Supporting teams with stakeholder engagement.
• ​General administrative and facilities support.

A bit about the role

We’re looking for a Managing Director to lead the next chapter of the Thin Blue Paw Foundation, shaping the strategic direction and operational excellence of a fast-growing national charity dedicated to protecting, celebrating and rehabilitating serving and retired police dogs across the United Kingdom.

As the organisation’s sole employee, you will be at the heart of everything we do, driving strategy, operations, marketing & communications, and fundraising with autonomy, ownership, and purpose. You will take responsibility for the charity’s day-to-day running, long-term planning, and the delivery of initiatives that improve the welfare and care of serving and retired police dogs, including through our newly established National Association of Police Dog Handlers.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with supporters, trustees, partners, and the policing community, and you will ensure that our operational processes, beneficiary support, campaigns, and income generation all run smoothly and effectively.

The role requires flexibility, including attending events, ceremonies, and engagements across evenings and weekends each month. You’ll work closely with our Board of Trustees and volunteers, collaborating to ensure the Foundation continues to grow sustainably while staying true to its mission.

In this role, you can expect to…

Lead and deliver organisational strategy

• Develop and execute the Foundation’s long-term strategic plan with the Board of Trustees.
• Ensure strong governance, compliance, risk management, and effectiveness across all areas.
• Report regularly to the Board with performance updates, insights, and recommendations.

Oversee day-to-day operations

• Manage all core operations, ensuring processes are efficient and aligned to organisational needs.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring responsible management of charitable funds and long-term financial sustainability.
• Maintain high-quality case management and beneficiary support for serving and retired police dogs.
• Uphold and refine policies on safeguarding, data protection (GDPR), welfare, and service delivery
• Coordinate volunteers and support the Trustee Board with administrative and operational needs.

Drive marketing, communications & supporter engagement

• Develop and implement the charity’s marketing and communications strategy across digital channels, campaigns, newsletters, and public outreach.
• Plan and deliver compelling content that raises awareness and strengthens engagement with supporters and partners.
• Maintain brand consistency and ensure all messaging aligns with the mission and values of the Foundation.
• Campaign development, storytelling, and digital engagement, including optimising the website and CRO to drive digital donor engagement, acquisition, and retention.

Lead fundraising & income generation

• Develop multi-channel fundraising strategies across individual giving, campaigns, corporate partnerships, grants, events, and digital fundraising.
• Build and nurture donor and partner relationships with professionalism and warmth.
• Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities with creativity and strategic focus.
• Manage income forecasting, budgeting, and financial oversight to support long-term sustainability.

Represent the Foundation at events

• Attend and support events, ceremonies, police dog engagements, fundraising activities, and partner visits (including evening and weekend commitments).
• Build meaningful relationships across policing, welfare groups, supporters, and the canine community.

• You’ve held a senior leadership role in a charity, nonprofit, mission-driven organisation, or commercial equivalent.
• You are highly organised and comfortable running an organisation end-to-end as the sole employee.
• You bring experience across marketing, communications, digital engagement, and charity campaigning.
• You have demonstrable experience in fundraising and donor stewardship.
• You are an excellent communicator and storyteller who can inspire supporters, partners, and trustees.
• You enjoy building relationships and are confident working with external stakeholders, including policing partners.
• You’re proactive, hands-on, and comfortable switching between strategic planning and day-to-day delivery.
• You are flexible and willing to attend events across evenings and weekends.
• You have a full UK driving licence.

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team, who are primarily volunteers, all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people right across the UK, allowing them to access a peer mentor who is of a similar age to them and somebody that they feel more comfortable speaking with.

About the role

We are seeking a transformational and visionary Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) to lead a national youth focused organisation, dedicated to promoting peer-led early intervention support for those in need. The successful candidate will be the first employed leader, propelling Youth4Youth from its robust foundations to the next stages of its development. The CEO will be responsible for turning our recently developed, yet ambitious, strategy into reality. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact from the outset.

Youth4Youth has secured funding to appoint a CEO for one year, with the expectation that the appointed leader will focus on securing long-term sustainable funding, thereby transitioning this position into a permanent role at the end of the fixed-term period. Additionally, the CEO will facilitate the appointment of further roles to support our mission as further funding becomes available.

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with the Chair of the Board and Trustees to establish and execute organisational strategy in alignment with the charity’s vision, mission, and objectives. This includes ensuring effective governance and legal compliance, and providing sound, evidence-based recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
• Champion continuous improvement, ensuring Youth4Youth remains a leading provider of youth-led early intervention wellbeing services. Identify and develop opportunities to expand the charity's reach and impact across the UK.
• Oversee effective financial management, ensuring the organisation can continue delivering its services efficiently. Lead the development of sustainable funding streams, enhance fundraising strategies, foster partnerships, and drive growth in commercial activities.

This position offers the chance to advance an organisation with solid foundations, enhancing its reach and impact across the UK through a volunteer executive leadership team and a growing network of approximately 100 volunteers nationwide. The CEO will be instrumental in crafting a strategic vision that translates into operational success, building and strengthening partnerships across the four nations, developing sustainable funding streams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.

Leading CamRARE

As Managing Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the charity, oversee governance and operations, develop and execute the strategy set by the Board of Trustees, and build key external partnerships. This role leads fundraising efforts and develops high-level external stakeholder relationships with Government bodies, including healthcare organisations/departments, Industry, patient and charity organisations, and Research Institutions involved in rare disease. Gilgal Birmingham is a specialist domestic abuse charity providing refuge accommodation and community-based support for women and children at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse. We offer emergency refuge spaces and a growing range of outreach services that help women rebuild their lives, access safety, and move towards independence.

We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to secure and manage the funding that enables this vital work. This is a key strategic role leading our grants, trusts, statutory funding and corporate income pipeline, working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for prospect research, high-quality bid writing, reporting, and building strong relationships with funders and partners. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can manage the full fundraising lifecycle and contribute to the growth of a life-changing service.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

• Work with the CEO to implement Gilgal’s Fundraising and Income Generation Strategy.

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporate partners.

• Prepare a rolling income generation plan with timelines and bid targets.

• Support the CEO in identifying opportunities for partnership bids and collaborative tenders.

Grants and Trusts

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fundraising Officer to join the fundraising team at the Batten Disease Family Association CIO (BDFA).

The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the charity, which has grown to offer additional support services for families affected by Batten disease and to implementing a long-term strategy to develop its advocacy, education and research capabilities. We’re looking for an individual who has some experience in fundraising, particularly leading on all aspects of community fundraising, developing and nurturing relationships with volunteer fundraising groups and individual supporters. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our CEO to develop community fundraising maximising the funds raised by volunteer fundraisers and developing supporter engagement. The successful candidate will also work alongside our Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer to support our Trusts and Foundations income generation.

The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

- Experience in all aspects of community fundraising including events, assisting fundraisers to develop imaginative fundraising ideas and inspiring new supporters to raise funds whilst maintaining relationships with existing supporters

- Experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships with fundraising groups and individual supporters

- Experience in managing effective and creative fundraising communications on social media and the website

- Ability to contribute to the overall Trusts and Foundations income stream, including proactively researching and identifying grant funding opportunities
