Luminary Ltd provides training, employment and community to some of the most disadvantaged women in London. We use baking as a tool to guide women towards employability and independence. We work alongside women who have experienced gender-based violence and live with ‘multiple disadvantage’. Our primary focus is helping these women achieve employment and reach independence - breaking the cycle of poverty, violence and disadvantage.

How we achieve our Mission

Over our two-year programme, women learn to bake, gain a catering qualification and develop transferable skills such as budgeting, interview techniques and resilience.  Women gain valuable work experience through our sister organisation, Luminary Bakery, as well as being paired with a volunteer mentor who helps her develop her career next steps.

Luminary consists of two entities working towards a shared purpose.

Luminary Ltd is a registered charity that provides training and support programmes for women who have experienced violence and disadvantage. Luminary Limited runs the Employability Support Programme, offering training, mentoring, and trauma-informed guidance to women on their journey to independence.

Luminary Bakery Ltd contributes to Luminary’s social impact by offering work experience placements, apprenticeships, and job opportunities for graduates of the charity’s training programmes. Luminary Bakery produces beautiful, artisanal baked goods and is working toward generating sustainable income to fund the charity.

The role
Luminary is entering an exciting phase in its development, transitioning from a small, founder-led start-up into a medium-sized charity. Over the past two years, we’ve experienced growth in our income, primarily through trusts and foundations. Building on this momentum, and with generous support from Comic Relief, we are now recruiting our first in-house fundraiser.

Location: Hybrid (3 days based on Luminary site and 2 days from home)

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to define and meet annual income targets from various income streams, identifying opportunities for income growth. 
•  Research, identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, and corporates. 
• Research, cultivate and manage relationships with prospective funders and individual donors. 
• Develop compelling funding proposals and pitches.

Essential:

Five years + experience in fundraising contributing to strategy as well as delivery.

Demonstrated  success in fundraising  with a proven track record of securing significant income from trusts and foundations, and/or major donors and corporate partners.
Skilled in relationship-based fundraising with experience of donor cultivation and stewardship to secure long-term partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop compelling funding proposals, persuasive pitches and impactful reports.
Experience in financial planning including creating and managing budgets, and financial analysis skills to track and report income performance.
Strategic and innovative thinker able to identify, assess and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with charity goals.
Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

What you’ll do – the key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and delivery of our partnership events including our Academy Visitor Days, as well as designing and implementing new stakeholder engagement initiatives based on previous stakeholder feedback.
• Support with, and at times lead the production of documents and communications for internal and external audiences, for example event invites, guest lists, handbooks, letter templates and agendas. This will include producing reports which use data to demonstrate the impact of our programmes to forces.
• Support with our sales campaign and contracting work through regular reporting, maintaining accurate records and providing updates to senior leadership and relevant internal stakeholders. This may include identifying opportunities for Police Now colleagues to attend sector events to have the greatest possible impact on policing in England & Wales.

• Provide wider administrative support to the Force Partnerships team. Frequent travel to the London office (2-3 days a week), along with regular travel to events and forces nationally will be required for this role.

After 10 years the senior project manager has stepped down and FIGO are seeking to use this as an opportunity to review the project delivery model.

The Interim Senior Project Manager role will lead the FIGO Fistula Project on an interim basis and be responsible for the ongoing delivery of the project during that period. The Care Navigator will support those with long term conditions to access timely care and community support services. Over the past decade Pembroke House’s activities in Walworth have grown considerably, with annual turnover rising from £200k to £1 million. Further growth is expected as a result of a new strategy anchored around five 10-year commitments to the neighbourhood, consolidation of our activities across two community buildings and continuing to build wide-ranging partnerships in Walworth.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled financial professional who can steward us through this crucial period of development.  You will be someone who combines a passion for our mission, a keen eye for detail and a flair for interpreting financial information and supporting non-specialists to make sound financial decisions. 

Days will be varied spanning everything from helping budget holders report to funders; preparing accurate financial reports and management accounts; to creating the budgets and frameworks for long-term financial planning. The rest of the core finance team comprises a Bookkeeper and a pro bono Payroll Officer based in Pembroke College, Cambridge. Other members of the team manage petty cash, look after the room hire business (including invoicing and credit control) and administer pensions. 

The trustee’s Finance and Risk Subcommittee formed two years ago and a new trustee position of Treasurer is currently being recruited. The Finance Manager will service and attend the subcommittee’s quarterly meetings and be the main contact point with the Treasurer between meetings.

As a new role there will be plenty of opportunity to mould finance operations across the organisation. Finance systems are currently in place, and have satisfied the auditor over the past few years, but there remains scope for improvement, including through automation and upskilling of the wider team.

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year round night shelter provision. 

APAP works in close partnership with a number of key agencies locally including drug and alcohol teams, street outreach services, local authority housing teams and the wider VCS. We are a gateway service in the community through which our clients can access a range of support. 

The Community Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the local community to support APAP’s fundraising efforts, including schools, local businesses, faith and community groups. A key feature of this role will be developing increased year-round community engagement and fundraising, leading into the planning and delivery of at least one annual fundraising campaign. ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who have been treated within the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS network of 47 hospitals. Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect and affects just under 1 in every 100 babies born throughout the UK.

ECHO helps from diagnosis, which is often during pregnancy, throughout any treatment and care pathway or bereavement. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey throughout childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services.

ECHO’s new Engagement Coordinator will be confident, self-motivated, and capable of managing projects independently. They will be responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinating engagement activities, and ensuring these are executed successfully.

The role requires a proactive, flexible, results-orientated individual with a passion for creating meaningful connections and working autonomously to achieve goals. You will lead with a “Make it Happen” approach to benefit the families we support in the children’s cardiology network connected to the Evelina London, Royal Brompton, and Harefield hospital networks (47 hospitals).

Can you:

Read the room when attending events, meetings, and conferences, with the confidence to share the ECHO story in a professional manner and with a smile?

Lead and coordinate engagement activities: Plan, execute, and manage engagement strategies, events, and initiatives that drive interaction with our community (fundraisers, families, professionals, volunteers, and staff).

Develop strong relationships: Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with internal and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration, knowing when and how to ask for support and help.

Negotiate discounts, freebies, and special moments for children, young people, and families.

Present to anyone who wants to hear about ECHO, whether a small team in an office, a school assembly of 500, or an away day for lawyers or doctors. You will design the resources you need on a shoestring budget with limited time but deliver an impactful and memorable presentation.

Bring organisation to the team and operations through admin with a can-do approach.

Key Responsibilities:

· Galvanise support by identifying opportunities, persuading people to get on board and following through to secure trust and buy-in

· Develop a GREAT supporter journey for everyone who donates to us, helping them to maximise opportunities to raise money and spread the word about ECHO.

· Provide reliable and time-critical information and be a go-to person for our community, for example:

    o  A team of runners taking part in an event.

    o  A team of medical professionals helping with our information resources.

    o  Stories for social media.

· People, presentations, and engagement – confidently stepping up to present, walking into groups with ease, and engaging people naturally and enthusiastically.

· Bringing energy, charisma, and a proactive approach to every interaction – from chatting with families to speaking at events or engaging new supporters.

The Senior Communications & Marketing Officer role offers the opportunity to join a young and growing registered charity at an exciting point in its evolution, and to help establish Crystal Palace Park as an exemplar in urban park management, community-led regeneration and cultural and heritage programming whilst restoring its position as one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions.

We are looking for a creative, organised and audience-focused marketing and communications professional to join the Trust. Reporting to the Senior Communications & Marketing Manager, you will work with the whole team identifying the best ways to use our different channels to share our unique and inspiring stories and develop our profile at local, national and international levels. 

You will have experience of coordinating marketing and communications activity, ideally in a visitor-facing venue. 

You will have oversight of the website, social media platforms, e-newsletter and audience research programme and will support with press enquiries, PR and content development.
