About Khulisa: 

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester. 

About the role: 

The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality administrative support across the organisation, ensuring the smooth and efficient running Khulisa's day-to-day operations. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Scheduling and organising internal staff meetings and events 
• Providing end-to-end support in Khulisa's recruitment processes
• Managing Khulisa's central mailbox 
• Taking resposibility for Khulisa's invoice management system
• Carrying out monthly payroll administration

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

The role

The Head of Philanthropy and Capital Campaign will lead a high-performing team responsible for cultivating and securing philanthropic income from major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. A key focus will be overseeing the delivery of the new £50 million capital campaign, Join the Future, to fund the construction of the Royal Free London Cancer Centre.
 
This role requires a strategic thinker and relationship-builder with a deep understanding of high-value fundraising. You will play a hands-on role in securing transformational gifts, working closely with senior stakeholders, Campaign Development Board members, trustees, clinicians, and the wider fundraising team.

Bipolar is a severe mental health condition, characterised by extreme mood changes that range from manic highs to suicidal lows, affecting 2% of the UK population, and we are seeking a candidate who can work as part of our developing engagement in research, alongside our dedicated team of staff and volunteers in realising our ambition of making a far reaching and meaningful difference to the everyday lives of those impacted by Bipolar.

This role is 90% remote working. 

The Postdoctoral Research Manager will assist the Director of Research in running Bipolar UK’s Research Division:

• working with the charity and its multiple partner projects and collaborators to deliver on our current research commitments
• to develop the long-term sustainability of the Bipolar UK Research Division

This is an exciting role which will combine overseeing and managing existing and prospective research partnerships with research teams around the country and world, and taking part in the development of Bipolar UK-led research.

Current research partners include teams at UCL, Oxford, Cardiff and the GW4 Alliance, Swansea, King’s College London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Lancaster, Liverpool, together with international organisations such as The Global Bipolar Cohort and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Our aim at Bipolar UK is to integrate research into the charity in a way which combines more traditional elements of facilitating lived experience involvement alongside actively contributing to and directing research. Bipolar UK is very much a user-driven organisation. About this job

We’re looking for a Senior Events Fundraiser to join our Community, Events, and Retail Fundraising team, leading on the delivery of our third party events activities.

You’ll plan, develop, and promote a well-established portfolio of third party challenge events, working to achieve set income targets, while ensuring an outstanding supporter experience for our event participants.

You’ll also be responsible for developing our third party events portfolio; monitoring and evaluating products, as well as innovating, to create opportunities for future growth.

About the Opportunity:

As a brand-new role, this is a unique and exciting role for a learning and development professional to shape and embed a learning culture within the organisation and build an equitable and inclusive training and learning framework.

• Create and deliver management development training covering leadership, compliance, and best practice.
• Design onboarding and induction programmes that set new staff up for success.
• Establish metrics to measure learning impact and foster continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain a central knowledge hub, including external partnerships with learning providers.

About You:

• Experienced in L&D strategy, training needs analysis, and programme design.
• Knowledgeable in HR practices and committed to EDIB principles.
• A confident communicator, able to build trusted relationships across all levels.
• Self-motivated, collaborative and organised.

The project aims to identify those in Welfare, Health, Wellbeing, Employment, housing, and/or food crisis who have had unresolved issues over a prolonged period and provide support for them to overcome the immediate crisis and work towards longer-term stability

The Advice and Advocacy Officer will provide holistic advice and advocacy to guests, supporting them on issues such as debt, welfare, housing, employment, and business support, in a trauma-informed and empowering way.

The postholder will be a key part of growing the Hub’s  Advice and Advocacy/ Pastoral / Wrap-around services, working as a team with our partners, providing support to guests and volunteers.

• Working with a Caseload of Guests on a 1-1 and group basis and providing support via multiple channels, including Telephone, Email, In Person, virtually, and other project locations, develop action/support plans

• Working with a caseload of guests to provide support/signpost

•  Facilitate group workshops, Coffee Mornings, and information sessions

• Provide Information, advice, guidance, and resilience

• Support for people facing hardship.

• To work with the Head of Compliance and Development to ensure the quality of the support given by the team/volunteers through assisting  with case reviews, training, and development

• Research, analyse, and interpret relevant policies, legislation, and programmes related to the sector with the support of the Head of Compliance and Development

Person Specification

• Experience delivering advice & Advocacy/ Wrap around care  in at least one relevant area,/Relevant qualifications for the post 

•  Understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive practice

•  Experience with group facilitation (desirable)

• Willingness to undertake further training, including Information Advice and Guidance L2/L4 or as relevant to the role

• Experience in working with individuals who are experiencing significant poverty and may also have multiple and complex needs. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.

• Experience in/willingness to learn the use of  databases for the recording, processing of advice given, and reviewing the quality of team records/ usage 

• Experience in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with external stakeholders

• IT Literate / Proficient in Microsoft/Google Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Slack, and experience with project management software / Communication tools (e.g., Zoho, Trello) is a plus.

• Time-management skills, with the ability to work successfully both alone and as part of a team
