As the Director for Intercultural Learning and Collaboration, you will be responsible for:

About the role:
We are looking for a Community Liaison to support and empower communities across the UK to be more stoma friendly and provide better support to those living with a stoma. We are a national charity and want to enable individuals, support groups, hospitals and other organisations to collaborate locally and your role will be to facilitate and encourage this.
You will be an ambassador for Colostomy UK, speaking on our behalf, promoting our support services, activities, and campaigns nationwide. Identifying and detecting opportunities for the development and growth of our charity will be an exciting part of this role, alongside ensuring we are reaching as many beneficiaries as possible that want or need our support.
This role is remote, with extensive UK wide travel. Most of your time will be out and about meeting people, so if you are a confident driver with access to your own car for business use, this would be an advantage. Core role responsibilities
· Develop strategies and activities to enable us to engage all demographics in the communities.
· Develop, maintain, and build key relationships with stoma care nurses, support groups and individuals in the stoma community.
· Support individuals to set up support groups in their area and act as a mentor to help them develop and grow the group, ensuring that we have a strong presence across the UK.
· Facilitate dialogue and community collaboration between local organisations; schools/ universities, businesses, charities and individuals.
· Work closely with event organisers and our Volunteers Manager to ensure we are represented at stoma open days, fundraising events and local events.
· Manage the delivery of our face-to-face and virtual active ostomates, and care workshop programmes.
· Develop, manage and deliver Stoma Awareness Training to an array of organisations looking to upskill their staff. This includes upskilling our volunteer team to be able to also deliver this training nationwide.
· Identify local fundraising opportunities and discuss potential opportunities with the Fundraising Manager.
· Support the Volunteer Manager to develop and deliver the volunteer and engagement strategy for mutual volunteer support, working closely with them regarding volunteer roles and their requirements.
· Work with the CEO and Marketing & Campaigns Manager to ensure representation at different meetings and forums across the UK.
· Write and present regular reports for team, management and board meetings.

JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to provide a professional, comprehensive and efficient PA and Governance co-ordination service to our Chief Executive and Trustee Board. This role requires excellent organisational skills, initiative, time management and co-ordination skills as well as personal credibility.
In addition to providing all aspects of PA support to our Chief Executive, you will play a pivotal role in Brick governance, including servicing of Board meetings, sub committees and key events, taking minutes and ensuring communication of actions out to the relevant owners and monitoring and co-ordinating completion within deadlines. This role will provide career development opportunities in building good office management/HR systems and contributing to employee development, communications, policy development and the production of strategic reports.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key accountabilities
Executive Support to Chief Executive
• Assist the CEO in achieving The Brick’s aims and objectives and provide a comprehensive support service for the CEO and Trustees, maintaining the highest possible standards of service and customer at care all times
• Manage the Chief Executive’s Diary and appointments; ensuring the Chief Executive is adequately prepared.
• Be the primary point of contact between The Brick Chief Executive and internal/external stakeholders, screening and directing phone calls and emails appropriately.
• Work on own initiative to instigate, respond to and undertake work to assist the Chief Executive and Trustee Board functions.
• Compile and co-ordinate appointments and meetings in the CEO’s diary and sort and prioritise enquiries; answer enquiries on behalf of the CEO, when required
• Organise meetings, events, hospitality and receiving visitors for the Chief Executive
• Provide secretarial support to the Chief Executive, undertaking research, preparing reports, responses and statistical information as required

• Progress/ chase reporting of actions flowing from The Brick’s Trustee Board Meetings and any subcommittees
• Maintenance of Trustee/Governance policies, documents, filing systems in both electronic and hard copy and information provision
• Maintain the Board membership register and support the recruitment and acceptance of new members
• In conjunction with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team, managing pre and post Board events and discussions, training sessions and strategy days
• Support the recruitment and on-boarding of Board and Committee members and managing the annual review process
• Ensure claims for travel and subsistence of our Board and Committee members are in line with Expenses Policy and processed in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain effective information sharing systems for Executive Team and Board of Trustees including the Executive SharePoint site.

- Helping to create new training events on ThankQ and our website

- Starting and hosting webinars, sharing this responsibility with the Head of Member Engagement (this postholder will not actually be delivering any training)
- Helping to process videos and uploading these to the website, after webinars and training have completed.
- Sending certificates, recordings and slides to all delegates after training courses are completed.
- Assisting with the administration of our main qualifications, the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration and the Diploma in Charity Legacy Management, and all other training programme administration
- Creating name badges and a final delegate list for the ILM Annual Conference in May 2024 (and each year)
• Governance
- Supporting the CEO in sending out Board Papers and other Board communications
- Assisting with Board meeting minutes as required and setting dates for meetings
- Maintaining our secure archive of Board Papers and other documents
• Finance and debt management
-Working to maximise the ILM income / accounts by taking the lead on the identification and chasing of debtors (course sales, membership, and all other outstanding debts) for 0.5 days per week on average

Purpose of role
The Operations Lead will provide a vital function to the Global Commons Alliance team, leading core team operations. The Operations Lead will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure the Global Commons Alliance Team operates efficiently and effectively.

About the PKD Charity
Founded in 2000, we’re the first and only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 individuals and their families affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in the UK.
PKD is a range of life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause kidney failure and affect other organs in the body such as the liver, brain, heart and bowels. Most people with PKD live with an uncertain prognosis, intermittent pain and infections, and then have to undergo life-saving dialysis or transplant in their 50s. A few babies have a rare form of PKD which results in death during pregnancy or shortly after birth; the surviving children often have to have either a kidney or liver transplant before the age of 10.
We provide reliable, accredited information, advice and personalised support. We raise awareness of the burden of PKD, both clinical and psychosocial. We fund research aimed at understanding more about PKD and the discovery of therapies that will improve quality and longevity of life.

About the role
The role will be joining the small, committed team at the PKD Charity and presents an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in helping make a significant difference to people affected by polycystic kidney disease.
You will be responsible for developing and delivery the fundraising strategy and meeting income targets across various income streams including Community and Events, Corporate, Individual Giving, Legacies and Major Donor fundraising.
We are looking for a committed, highly motivated and creative fundraiser who is confident and excited about working across all areas of fundraising and generating income for a small national charity. As the sole fundraiser at the charity, you will be comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy
- Lead on the development and implementation of our fundraising strategy which will maximise income generation from a range of sources including Community and Events, Individual Giving, Legacies, Commemorative Giving, Corporate and Major Donor Fundraising.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of all communications and fundraising activity and to use this learning to inform and shape the future of our activity in this area throughout the organisation.
Community and Events Fundraising
- Market and recruit for a programme of national sports and challenge events including the London Marathon and Great North Run. Supporting our participants to achieve their fundraising targets
- Develop and deliver new and existing fundraising events and activities that will engage with the PKD Charity community.
- Secure new income from community audiences through referrals and introductions from existing supporters and sourcing of new funders within the community, including businesses, social groups, clubs and societies, religious groups and schools.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a network of volunteers to support fundraising activities in communities around the UK and help raise awareness of polycystic kidney disease and the charity.
Individual Giving
- Manage the ongoing development and implementation of a regular giving strategy, to maximise unrestricted income, recruit new regular givers and reduce attrition rates.
- Work with the team to support the recently launched legacy fundraising and commemorative giving strategy, to maximise income.
Corporate and Major Donor
- Lead on the cultivation and stewardship of supporters, including the account management of partnerships with businesses.
- Work closely with the Chief Executive to develop relationships with major donors and support the development of a major donor programme.
- Ensure that the organisational CRM database usage is optimised to facilitate major donor fundraising.
- Work with other organisations to maximise joint fundraising opportunities.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Create and maintain income pipelines aligned to income targets, prepare reports and contribute to monthly management information.

Role Overview
The Programme Associate delivers Facing History training and support to educators, helps to build and engage our network of teachers and, using Facing History’s pedagogical framework, creates clear and accessible curriculum materials and resources.
The Programme Associate will initially be managed by the Executive Director and be accountable to our Senior Programme Associate (responsible for programme delivery) and Senior Curriculum Developer (responsible for developing and adapting educational resources) respectively for work that falls into their areas of responsibility.
This post holder will be required to attend meetings in London and there will be travel across the UK. Proximity to good transport links is therefore essential.
Key Duties and Accountabilities

Researching, writing, and summarising complex histories to provide context for resources. Maintaining knowledge and expertise in best practices in teaching, pedagogy, and assessment, and ensuring those practices are reflected as appropriate in Facing History content. Providing content for our Ideas This Week website page and providing other means of supporting teachers to respond to current events in their classrooms. In conjunction with the Programme Administrator write / review content for Facing History UK social media activity linked to existing and newly developed resources.
Other: contributing to the smooth operation and effectiveness of the charity as part of a small team, representing the charity at events and conferences as required, and supporting the work of other members of the team as reasonably required.

Main responsibilities
Leadership and management
- Make an active contribution to the direction of the charity, driving innovation in the areas you are responsible for and making the connections with workstreams across the wider organisation.

Fundraising
- Drive income-generating activities in partnership with the Deputy Chief Executive, who is responsible for fund raising. We are especially prioritising revenue from events, private sector partners, high net-worth individuals and Trusts and Foundations, and leading the way in creating new models of revenue from events and training.
- Develop and deliver your own strategy for growing income from corporate supporters and high net-worth individual ---- Manage an active portfolio of existing and prospective supporters.
- Ensure all fundraising regulations and codes of conduct are adhered too.
Strengthening Fund raising capacity
- Ensure the continuous development of the Business Development team
- Capacity development of wider THET staff to ensure we maximise business development opportunities across the whole organisation
- Contribute towards strengthening and standardising new business development tools and processes
General support
- Provide support to the Deputy CEO and others as necessary and relevant.
- Represent THET externally at global health events.
