Duties and key responsibilities

Financial Administration and Bookkeeping

• Responsibility for maintaining all financial records and data accurately and within agreed systems, to include:Maintaining up-to-date records in Sage 50.
• Importing bank receipts into Sage from Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Processing purchase invoices, card transactions, and payments, ensuring correct coding to nominal and departmental ledgers.
• Maintaining payment records and reconciling grant payments within Sage 50 and grant management software.
• Generating sales invoices and carrying out credit control on a regular basis.
• Ensuring prompt payment of invoices and preparing payments with the bank for review by the Director of Finance & Resources.
• Maintaining the expense management system in line with policies and ensuring timely authorisation and reimbursement.
• Ensuring accurate records of authorisation and financial approvals.
• Preparing and posting all month-end journals.
• Completing monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Working with the Database and Finance Officer to reconcile income between Sage 50 and the income spreadsheet on a quarterly basis.
• Maintaining organised financial files to support monthly reporting and the year-end audit.
• Updating and monitoring the VAT threshold spreadsheet, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and alerting the Director of Finance & Resources to any potential threshold issues. 
• Reconciling and maintaining restricted funding and expenditure for projects.
• Covering the following duties when the Database and Finance Officer is on leave: monitoring income and updating the income spreadsheet daily; paying cheques and cash into the bank account in a timely manner.
• Supporting fundraising events, e.g. preparing card readers, paperwork, and reconciling cash.

 Financial Reporting

• Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, accompanied by analysis, commentary, and project-level breakdowns.
• Providing analysis and ad-hoc financial information as required.
• Maintain and regularly update the restricted fund spreadsheet, ensuring accurate tracking of income, expenditure, and balances in line with donor and grant requirements.

Budget Management

• Supporting the preparation of the annual Excel-based organisational budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Participating in budget meetings with managers to ensure robust and realistic financial plans.
• Assisting project managers with the preparation of Excel-based project budgets.

Audit

Preparation for the annual audit and compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements, including:

• Preparing audit documentation and working papers in collaboration with the Director of Finance & Resources.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating documentation requests before and during audit week.

Other

• Ensuring financial policies and processes remain fit for purpose, recommending and implementing improvements where needed.
• Acting as the main point of contact for financial queries, with support from the Director of Finance & Resources.
• Carrying out any other duties reasonably required to support the effective financial management of Sarcoma UK.
• Adapting to the needs of a developing organisation and undertaking additional responsibilities as necessary.

The Senior Evidence & Evaluation Manager sits within the Impact & Evidence directorate at the heart of Youth Futures Foundation.

You will play a central role in building the evidence base on what works to support young people into good jobs.

Working with three Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and the Director, you will help ensure our evaluations are designed to generate credible evidence of what works.

• You will work closely with independent evaluators and delivery partners and colleagues in our Programmes & Grants and Policy & Communications directorates, you will assess the evaluability of interventions, and lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex impact evaluations.
• You will manage a portfolio of projects, leading some directly, and overseeing others while supporting more junior colleagues.
• You will also contribute to strengthening our ‘evaluation architecture’, leading projects that enhance data infrastructure and access to administrative datasets, and set standards for methodological rigour in the sector.

This role can be based at our Birmingham, Leeds or London hub. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

We’re looking for a Head of Early Years to lead and grow a key area of our organisation. The Senior Fundraising & Grants Manager will lead the development and delivery of Bite Back's fundraising strategy with a primary focus on trusts, foundations and institutional grants. You’ll oversee the organisation’s grants pipeline, coordinate funding applications and reports, and ensure excellent standards of funder stewardship and compliance. You’ll also play a role in developing early-stage public fundraising activities to diversify income and support the long-term sustainability of Bite Back’s youth-led mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Fundraising and Grants Manager is accountable for:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

• Design, deliver and monitor a values-aligned fundraising strategy, with a primary focus on trusts and foundations.

• Set annual income targets, track progress against goals, and report performance to senior leadership and trustees.

• Identify new income opportunities to support Bite Back’s strategic growth and impact.

• Develop and maintain a 12–24 month grant pipeline to forecast income and manage funding cycles.

• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR, and Bite Back’s ethical standards.

Grants from Trusts and Foundations

• Lead the processes for securing income from trusts, foundations and institutional funders, from prospect research through to submission, reporting and renewal.

• Research, identify and prioritise funding opportunities aligned with Bite Back’s youth-led mission and programmes. Collaborate with internal teams to conduct due diligence to ensure funding sources are aligned with our values.

• Prepare and submit high-quality, evidence-led, and compelling grant proposals in collaboration with the CEO, Director of Finance & Operations, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, and programme leads.

• Coordinate grant management and tracking: maintain accurate records of deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

• Work with the finance team to develop accurate project budgets and ensure financial reporting meets funder expectations and our operational needs.

• Produce and submit clear, engaging progress reports to funders that highlight impact, learning, and youth voices.

• Monitor grant income and expenditure, ensuring compliance and timely claims against restricted funding.

• Work with the Operations and Contracts Manager and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to develop and improve systems for grant tracking and data integrity within the CRM (Salesforce).

Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management

• Work closely with the CEO to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential funders, ensuring high-quality engagement and stewardship.

• Coordinate communications, updates, and thank-you processes for donors to encourage repeat and multi-year funding.

• Lead workstreams, working closely with the Brand Manager and leadership team for support, in order to deliver meetings, presentations, and reports to funders.

• Represent Bite Back at relevant events, funder briefings, and networking opportunities.

• Promote a culture of fundraising awareness and collaboration across the organisation.

Fundraising Development

• Work with the Communications and Operations teams to explore and pilot small-scale public fundraising initiatives (e.g. individual giving, online campaigns, web donation tool).

• Work with the CEO and Communications team to develop a new strategy to build a strong and committed donor network of high net worth individuals aligned with Bite Back’s values

• Develop systems, messaging, and supporter journeys that reflect Bite Back’s youth-led identity.

• Explore opportunities for revenue from the public sector.

• Test new public fundraising channels and evaluate their return on investment to inform future strategy.

Other

• Champion Bite Back’s values - Fresh, Resilient, Respectful, Energetic, and Real - in all fundraising work.

• Collaborate with the youth activism, communications, and policy teams to translate programme outcomes into fundable opportunities and compelling narratives.

About the role

Kinship is undertaking a major feasibility Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of Kinship Connected. This is aligned with recommendations set out in the Kinship Care Practice Guide published by Foundations (2024) and builds on evidence from the Kinship Navigator intervention of support for kinship carers in the USA. 

This feasibility RCT is a complex, multi-partner programme involving: 

• An active funding partner 
• An independent evaluation team 
• 5 participating local authorities (to be confirmed) 
• Internal delivery teams and cross organisational services 
• Kinship carers and lived experience subject experts

This role leads and supports the staff team delivering one-to-one navigator-style support to kinship carers as part of the Kinship Connected feasibility randomised controlled trial. You will ensure the team provides consistent, high quality, relational support that reflects Kinship’s values and trauma-informed practice. 

You will work closely with the Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager and will share responsibility for ensuring high quality performance across the feasibility trial. You will both work closely with the core project team and partners. 

The Programmes Manager leads practice quality, staff development, safeguarding and relational delivery. The Mobilisation and Delivery Project Manager leads operational quality, systems, processes, data and compliance. Together you make sure the trial is delivered ethically, consistently and to a very high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the day-to-day practice and relational delivery of the Kinship Connected (Navigator) support model.

• Support Kinship Family Workers to deliver high quality, trauma-informed and strengths-based support to kinship carers.

Key Responsibilities

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality services to the women and their children living in our refuges and survivors of domestic abuse supported by our community outreach service.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.

Our service provision in Derby includes culturally specific service for South Asian women as well as a specialist multiple disadvantage support worker who support survivors facing enhanced needs.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based and the outreach service staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges and the outreach service always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant criminal and civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with staff that support survivors and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse and other gender-based violence.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Interim CEO (maternity cover) is responsible for maintaining the high performance of the charity, overseeing the delivery of key strategic goals in line with our mission and aims. During the period of this appointment, you will lead the organisation through its annual school sales process (Spring 26), ensure the successful delivery of a key strategic project testing AI in our delivery model (Summer and Autumn 26) and set the organisation up for success in a new academic year (Autumn 26).

Vision, Strategy and Delivery

• Working with the Board to implement the vision and mission of the charity.
• Responsible for implementing the agreed strategy.

People and Cultural Leadership

• Overall people and cultural leadership, empowering the team the maintain the positive working culture with behaviours that align closely to the charity’s values.
• Ensuring operational excellence is maintained across the organisation.

Advocacy

• Representing Action Tutoring externally to a range of stakeholders, including school leaders, policymakers, the media and funders, to raise the profile of Action Tutoring and awareness of the cause.
• Sustain constructive working relationships with other education charities, sharing good practice and working collaboratively to improve educational outcomes.

Finance and Fundraising

• Overseeing financial management of the charity supported by the Director of Finance & Operations. 
• Lead fundraising alongside the Head of Philanthropy to ensure fundraising targets set by the Board are met.

Line Management

Qualifications criteria:

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others: 

• Proven track record as a CEO in a not-for-profit organisation, experience as an Interim CEO is desirable but not essential. The ability to get up to speed quickly will be vital. 
• Experience of working within a delivery-based organisation and an understanding of how to ensure quality, efficiency, and impact in that context.
• Commercial mindset, with proven success in fundraising and/or sales targets to meet set targets and secure income for ongoing operations.
• Experience overseeing pilots of new delivery modes, applying a theory of change approach to learning.
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans and complex projects to achieve organisational vision and mission.
• Strong communication skills, with experience representing organisations externally to various stakeholders (e.g., school leaders, partners, funders).
• Understanding of the education sector, and the needs and drivers of stakeholders across the education space.
• Ability to diagnose and dissect complex problems and encourage scalable solutions to novel issues.
• Experience in empowering senior leaders and the wider organisations to meet ambitious targets.

About the Job 

Sophie Hayes Foundation (SHF) is a small but mighty charity, empowering women survivors of modern slavery and exploitation. It is an important time at SHF. Our new strategy ‘Sustainable Freedom from Modern Slavery’ launched in 2024 and this role is essential for the delivery of the strategy and ensuring that survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation have access to the support and opportunities they need to achieve their aspirations, independence and a positive future. With soaring numbers of referral to the NRM and thousands more victims living in fear of a hostile environment, this has never been more important than now. 

At the heart of Sophie Hayes Foundation’s work will be the support to and empowerment of survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking and this role is critical to survivors’ journeys to sustainable freedom. We are increasingly aware of the precarity faced by survivors, especially during transitions moving on from support and at points of decision making from the NRM or Home Office. 

Alongside a small, friendly and dedicated team, you will build pathways of support for a range of participants who are supported by SHF through connecting them to other community organisations. Your role will include assisting them to access safe accommodation, community support, mental health support and access to finances. 

You will champion the voices of survivors through the work of the organisation, working with colleagues in CREW, our survivor network, to provide continued support to survivors’ long term.

About the Role

• Conducting initial welcome calls to participants to assess their needs and desired pathway into SHF
• Host Monthly 121 Check-ins with participants who don’t have support workers and during those sessions signpost to long-term support to widen their community support. Writing support letters when needed
• Actively engage with local, regional, and national partners and anti-slavery networks to build and maintain partnerships for survivor referral pathways to other organisations
• Work alongside the CREW Co-ordinator to run events which foster connection within our CREW network, such as a monthly coffee morning
• Support in the facilitation of in-person sessions whether CREW or part of the Programme delivery. 
• Support in the facilitation of Programmes and CREW events 
• Ensure highest levels of Safeguarding, compiling safety plans for participants and carrying out risk assessments where necessary. 
• Accurate data input to and management of internal monitoring and finance systems, working closely with the Head of Programmes to analyse trends and contribute to reporting. 
• Contribute to centring survivor perspectives in the work of Sophie Hayes Foundation by sharing and channelling learning from programme delivery to colleagues.
• Other duties which may arise under the implementation of the new strategy, as directed by the Head of Employability Programme. 

About You

You may have prior experience as a teacher, caseworker or charity coordinator.

The Carers Centre provides support to over 2000 unpaid family carers in the city of Brighton & Hove every year. The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated group of staff and volunteers to deliver vital and innovative services to carers across our city.

AIMS OF THE JOB: 

1. To establish and develop volunteering opportunities at the Carers Centre
2. To work with the management team to review and reinforce effective policies and procedures for volunteer-supported projects based on best practice
3. To develop and implement systems for recruitment and selection of volunteers from a range of backgrounds
4. To deliver a programme of induction and ongoing training for volunteers
5. To supervise a pool of volunteers to support carers safely to achieve positive changes within their lives and to enable volunteers to feel fulfilled in their role

Interim Finance Manager

Contract: 6–9 month Fixed-Term Contract - Immediate start
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid working, Brighton and Hove

We are supporting a charitable housing and support organisation to appoint an immediately available Interim Finance Manager on a 6–9 month fixed-term basis.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the senior leadership team and Board, the role will provide strategic and operational financial management during a defined interim period.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, re-forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.

• Produce accurate management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports.

• Ensure effective cashflow, treasury management, and financial controls.

• Oversee income collection processes, including rents and service charges, working with operational teams to reduce arrears.

• Provide financial performance analysis and manage key assumptions.

• Manage audits, external advisors, banking relationships, investments, taxation, reserves, and insurance.

• Support Board and Finance Sub-Committee reporting and advise on financial risk and compliance.

• Line manage finance staff and work closely with operational colleagues on capital and property-related expenditure.

The Candidate

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPFA).

• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting.

• Comfortable working with Boards or Trustees and non-financial stakeholders.

• Hands-on and adaptable, with experience in interim or fast-paced environments.

Charity, housing, or not-for-profit experience is desirable.

Additional Information

• Hybrid working, with some on-site presence required.
