World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe and the Americas. Our shared vision is to live in a world where no one develops a preventable cancer.

WCRFI is responsible for delivering our network science programmes. One of these is the Continuous Update Project (CUP), our global cancer prevention and survival programme on the links between diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer. Forming the cornerstone of all our work, the project is the largest of its kind in the world. Over 140 scientists from more than 17 different countries have contributed to it. The CUP database is housed at Imperial College London. Trusted by oncology experts, researchers and health professionals worldwide, and regularly evaluated by an independent panel of leading cancer experts, the CUP is the only authoritative scientific resource of its kind in the world.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Research Interpretation to lead and manage the CUP at a particularly exciting time. Following the launch of Diet, Nutrition, Physical Activity and Cancer: A Global Perspective, a major report based on CUP findings and featuring our updated cancer prevention recommendations, the project is moving into a new phase of development.

You will be responsible for leading and implementing this new phase of the CUP, working with a dedicated Secretariat. You will also contribute to other projects such as ensuring that the WCRF network has the latest global cancer statistics, including new estimates of the preventability of cancer. More information on the CUP can be found here.

Educated to PhD level, with at least three years post doctoral experience, you will have an understanding of epidemiology, nutrition and/or cancer, have experience or knowledge of conducting and interpreting systematic reviews and strong project and people management skills.

Application Details:

If you are interested in this role and feel you possess the necessary requirements, please submit a current CV and covering letter (maximum 2 pages) by the closing date. You must have current right to work in the UK.

Please note: Your cover letter should highlight how your skills and experience will benefit WCRF International and equip you for the role, using specific examples to illustrate how you meet the job and person specifications.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to provide feedback to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
