Location: Remote working with travel to Together Trust locations in Greater Manchester and surrounding area and attending some meetings throughout England where necessary.
Leading on Policy and Campaign development of the charity’s policy, your role will be to put forward evidence-based policy recommendations and campaigns and working with the people we support to influence change ensuring that the voice of the people we support is heard and acted on by key decision makers.
Acting as the spokesperson for the Together Trust and the people it supports on policy issues you will be responsible for the following:
- Managing and developing the Together Trust’s policy and campaigns strategy in line with the Trust’s strategic long-term plan.
- Leading on the development of policy priorities with staff and the people we support. Working with them to develop a Theory of Change for the Together Trust. Working directly with the Trust Directors, Trustees and external agencies.
- Representing the Together Trust at meetings with MPs, Councillors, parliamentary groups, select committees to help drive forward Together Trust’s policy and campaigns work.
- Improving the Together Trust’s visibility in UK Parliament by attending sessions, submitting evidence and nurturing networks.
- Reporting on policy, campaigns and participation activities to the Supporting People sub-group, providing updates on activity and progress against key milestones.
- This role has line management responsibilities.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- An undergraduate degree qualification (Level 6 or equivalent), preferably in a relevant discipline with a good understanding of the UK political environment, local and national government structures and decision-making.
- Line management experience supporting team members to achieve their KPIs.
- Experience of using different campaign tactics including recruitment actions and support journeys.
- Experience of speaking at events or representing an organisation in a professional setting.

The Senior Public Affairs and Research Officer will drive policy change to increase surplus food redistribution by engaging with stakeholders across government, media, industry, and academia. The role will sit within FareShare’s public affairs—part of the wider marcomms team—which is responsible for advocating for policies that create an economic and legislative environment that is beneficial for surplus food redistribution. The Senior Public Affairs and Research Officer will be critical in advancing FareShare’s policy agenda, as outlined in the manifesto. Working closely with the Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will lead efforts to engage influential stakeholders, create compelling content, and coordinate high-impact events. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence national policy and contribute to meaningful change in the food redistribution sector.
Key responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies, media, and academia, to advance FareShare’s policy objectives.
Policy, Research, and Briefings: Develop in-depth policy knowledge and produce well-researched briefings and reports articulating FareShare’s policy goals. Identify opportunities for FareShare to feed into Government consultations and Select Committees.
Events: Support the planning and execution of public affairs events, including parliamentary engagements and engagement with industry conferences.

The Children's Society (TCS) is at an exciting stage of its journey with a clear organisational goal and renewed commitment to reverse the damaging decline in children's wellbeing. This is no ordinary job, with the scale of the crisis needing strong policy and public affairs advocates. As we move towards addressing the strategic goal of reversing the decline in children's wellbeing, we need to create innovative policies that seek to address the drivers of low wellbeing and the structural inequalities young people experience, including the risks they young people are facing on a daily basis. The Policy and Public Affairs Manager (Adolescent Risk and Vulnerability) is a high-profile role, both internally and externally. This critical role is part of our newly established Policy, Advocacy and Influencing knowledge group, which brings together colleagues across policy, public affairs and campaigning to work together to ensure effective strategic influencing in our three policy areas ( adolescent risk and vulnerability, mental health, poverty). The role sits within our Youth Impact domain, which brings together teams directly supporting young people across the country in practice and our national programmes. The role
Reporting to the Senior Analyst and collaborating closely with our Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will help to ensure that FareShare has a robust impact and evaluation framework and deliver research projects that are able to clearly articulate and demonstrate the social and environmental outcomes of its work.
This role is central to an evidence-based culture and embedding evaluation into service development and delivery across our service. You will help shape the future of the charity by working with colleagues across FareShare, ensuring that impact and evaluation insights are used to drive service improvement and innovation. You will be supporting qualitative and quantitative research projects across key stakeholders and provide insight for our Marketing and Public Affairs work.
You will ensure that all outputs are brought to life and communicated across both internal and external communications channels to deliver compelling narratives which highlight the social and environmental impact of FareShare’s work. Overview of the role
UKROEd are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join the Operations business area of the company.
You will work closely with both our internal and external stakeholders to oversee the development and implementation of an impactful communications strategy to ensure that our messaging output is effective and in line with our overall corporate strategy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Act as the principal advisor to the senior leadership team on all areas of communication and engagement, including planned and unplanned issues.

Work alongside the UKROEd Crisis Communications Consultant to develop and deliver an annual communications plan that outlines the priority campaigns and communications projects to help the company deliver its corporate plans and financial strategy.

Work alongside the UKROEd Media Associate Consultant to manage and further develop the external communications service, including communication campaigns, reactive communications, media relations, digital, and design.

Develop a unified company voice that aligns with our branding and values

Oversee UKROEd’s internal communication function and work with key business areas to implement effective internal communication and engagement strategies, which drive new ways of working and support wider transformation and cultural change across the organisation

Build and maintain relationships with our stakeholders and audiences, including internal and external stakeholders across course providers, police forces, the Road Safety Trust, local and central, government & Whitehall, statutory and non-statutory bodies, industry & business, road safety communities and other parties to establish strong working relationships.

Work with appointed associates on the organisation's external digital platforms, planning and managing the design, content, and production of all materials.

Provide overall editorial control of communication processes to all key stakeholders

Continuously improve the delivery and effectiveness of campaigns and engagement activities by gathering intelligence through robust evaluation, and by reviewing procedures and practices, to drive the achievement of high-quality, impactful outcome

Support UKROEd in influencing external decision makers, including central government, regional government, and police forces nationally.
