Job description

The National Church Institutions (NCIs) are national administrative bodies that work together to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England. Their activities are hugely varied, ranging from management of a multi-billion-pound investment fund, to a grant-giving charity, a housing service for retired clergy and the administration of four multi-employer pension schemes.

The Procurement Team is part of the Finance department, a shared services function working across the NCIs to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective finance service to each organisation. The NCI procurement function was established 3 years ago, and has developed into a key strategic partner for these organisations, driving value-for-money, promoting a best practice approach and upholding strong ethical procurement principles.

Introduction

As Procurement Category Manager, you will support the Head of Procurement to spearhead and be responsible for building out our support to the IT, Property & Facilities and Professional Services departments, developing strong working relationships across teams and promoting great procurement practice and truly effective contract management. This will include running competitive tenders, appointing and managing preferred suppliers, and providing procurement support for key projects.

This post is based in Westminster and requires the flexibility to travel to work at Lambeth Palace or regionally as required. Remote working will be available for 2-3 days per week, subject to requirements and agreement.

Interviews will be held w/c 18th October 2021.
