The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

They will lead a senior management team of three (the Operations Manager, Funding and Communications Manager and Advocacy Manager).They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on governance best practice across all aspects of the charity.

This post is a first-tier post directly reporting to the Board of Trustees. Ideally the post holder will have a Christian faith and be committed to core Christian values.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and committed Community and Membership Fundraising team. This is a new role, which is responsible for supporting and equipping Salvation Army churches and centres across the UK to fundraise in their local community to support the mission of The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army has 620 churches and community centres, which work at the heart of communities, serving the most vulnerable people, across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Alongside the locally driven operations, The Salvation Army operates centrally co-ordinated and managed social services, including residential programmes for homeless people, residential detox centres, and refuges for victims of domestic violence, and safe houses and services for the victims and survivors of modern-day slavery and human trafficking. You will play a key role in equipping and supporting Salvation Army churches to fundraise to support some of the most excluded people and communities in the UK.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in church-based and community fundraising, has strengths in inspiring others to act, is able to generate and implement new ideas, and is able to work independently using their own initiative.

This is a permanent position based partly at home and partly at your local Salvation Army office. You will be expected to travel within Yorkshire to local Salvation Army sites throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Preston Minster, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Preston Minster and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time

Centre operations

• Support the wider Spear team and senior leadership team in developing the financial sustainability of Spear Preston e.g. gathering data for funding applications, organising community fundraising events.
• Work with relevant members of the ministry team, particularly youth and student ministries to further embed Spear into the life of the church.

SENIOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY WORKER

Overview of Role:

As a Support Worker, you will be working with young people aged 12-25 years old who have experience of self-harm. Within that age group, you will predominantly be working with young people under 18. The post would suit an experienced support worker, preferably with knowledge of the issues experienced by young people who are trans / non-binary.

You will play a key role in providing them with support and advocacy both on a one to-one basis and within a group setting; working with them to develop their emotional skills which will allow them to cope more effectively with the difficulties in their lives. The nature of the work means role that the successful candidate must focus on inclusivity for the young people.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in working with young people aged 12-25 and will enjoy the challenge of working with adolescents in difficult circumstances. You will need to be able to work within a non-discriminatory framework, ensuring the services are provided in a qualitative, responsive, and accessible manner.

The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm. With our Constellation element working with young people aged 12-25. Since The Amber project was established in 2002 individual support and creative
workshops have been key elements of our work with young people.

Salary: £13,406 per annum (£26,812.00 per annum FTE).

Hours:  20 hours per week. Working pattern to be agreed with the line manager but will include late afternoons and early evenings to facilitate meeting with young people outside of school hours and attending workshops. Occasional weekends.

Pension: Church Army is an auto enrolment pension employer. You will be assessed under pension auto enrolment criteria.

We are looking for someone to initiate and lead a youth-focussed new Worshipping Community in collaboration with local parishes and Missional Youth Church Network, within a vision of wider schools engagement, schools ministry and community work.

You will oversee the Youth Hub and enable youth ministry to grow in the surrounding areas, working in partnership with local churches.

Youth Hubs will have a focus on:

• Reaching young people with the Gospel
• Developing new young active disciples
• Forming of New Worshipping Communities
• Growing Young Leaders
• Developing new volunteer leaders and teams

We are looking to fill 2 posts, one in Leominster and one in Bishops Castle
