Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

1. Client Support 

●Carry out initial assessment of client needs to identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating. 

●Provide casework level advice on welfare benefits, housing and financial issues as appropriate.

●Facilitate access, signpost and accompany clients to services or activities, in particular those with limited English. 

●Assist clients with other related problems or refer to other specialist organisations as appropriate. 

●Make follow up calls to provide moral and practical support as appropriate.

●Keep up-to-date with local service provision for appropriate signposting and referrals. 

●Maintain professional practice standards and regulatory requirements, including confidentiality, safeguarding and equality.

2. Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation 

●Work towards agreed outputs, outcomes and targets. 

●Provide written reports on work undertaken and other reports as required. 

●Ensure that all work conforms to systems and procedures of Respeito, partner organisations and funders. 

●Maintain accurate and up-to-date administration and caseload records, including records of meetings. 

●Liaise with therapist and other staff to arrange and coordinate counselling sessions with clients.

●Manage own workload, administration and diary commitments.

●Provide regular reports and updates to the line manager.

●Attend and participate in organisational meetings (e.g. with Board of Trustees) as appropriate.

3. Communications 

●Disseminate promotional materials through a range of channels and marketing tools. 

●Support the production of organisational reports and promotional materials. 

4. Training and development 

●Have a commitment to ongoing learning and development. 

●Keep up to date with policy and legal frameworks and procedures including: 

●data protection and confidentiality,

●safeguarding children and young people and vulnerable adults,

Person Specification 

The post holder should have a very good command of Portuguese and English, spoken and written, be committed to making a positive difference to people’s lives, have relevant experience in working with families and individuals with a range of needs, and knowledge of domestic abuse and the needs of those who experience it. 

1. Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

●Educated to degree level or equivalent (A qualification in a relevant field such as Community Development, Social work, Domestic Abuse Advisor’ Law or Psychology is desirable). 

●At least two years’ experience of working with disadvantaged individuals and families, paid or voluntary work. 

●Experience in developing and delivering client centred services. 

●Experience of providing advice on housing and welfare.

●Knowledge of working in partnership with external stakeholders and the third sector. 

●Knowledge and understanding of domestic conflict, abuse and/or violence and its impact.

Parish Development Adviser

The Role

You will be part of a large, creative, and highly skilled group of colleagues in the Department of Mission and Ministry. Together we work to enable the growth of the local church and to support work across the whole diocese in five key areas: discipleship and social justice, children, young people and families, formation for ministry, new congregations, and vocations to ordained and lay ministry.

About You

Open to lay and ordained candidates, you will have experience in consultancy and facilitation with groups and individuals along with the gift of listening and asking good questions. You will have an understanding of mission and of how local churches can grow through engagement and deepening relationships with those in their locality.

You will be comfortable in encouraging and facilitating the development of new congregations of every type, tradition, shape, and size.

The Organisation

The Diocese is the administrative area of the Church, broadly speaking, covers the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. There are 815 churches in the Diocese – more than any other diocese in the Church of England. So, in many ways the best description is that it is the family of the 55,000 or so regular worshippers in these churches.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse for victims and their children.

Working with children and young people, the team will focus on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to children who have been the victims of domestic abuse.

This is a fixed term position to November 2025.

This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

In addition, there will be the opportunity to work with the team and manager to develop and deliver new group work provision for young people.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

· To provide high quality, specialist support to children who have lived in a domestically abusive family.

· Enabling young people to access statutory and other services where appropriate.

· Managing a caseload and working proactively to support young people and their families.

· To deliver educational, time-bound, 1 to 1 support sessions for children and young people.

· Provide specialist support to child victims, with a focus on empowering young people to make informed decisions.

· Ensure that children and young people have a thorough understanding of what constitutes a ‘healthy relationship’.

· Undertake risk assessments and implement robust safety management plans.

· Give practical and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse.

· Work closely with multi-agency partners and the wider Wiltshire team to ensure that we maintain a focus on risk management and safeguarding.

· Work with your team and manager to develop early intervention resources.

· Engaging with and supporting the MARAC and MASH process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.

This role will be based in our Trowbridge office, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of low to high risk children and young people, predominantly through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies.
• Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.
• Assess, manage and review risks to service users, colleagues and self, according to agreed procedures.
• Assess the needs of the child and devise appropriate support and safety plans with due regard to the dynamic nature of risk.
• Work with colleagues, health and social care professionals and multi-agency networks to evaluate caseload needs and the progress that has been made.
• Work directly and proactively with children and young people to help them to understand the impact that Domestic Abuse has had on them.
• Ensure personal safety and that of service users and other staff at all times.
• Respond to emergencies and crises with a focus on the child’s wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Plan and implement activities to promote self-awareness, confidence and participation for children.
• Provide person centred, trauma informed support to all your cases, to empower the young person to make informed choices.
• Enable service users to participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.
• Work effectively in partnership with multiple statutory and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery, safety and safeguarding.
• Respond to a child’s individual learning needs and style, adapting practice as necessary.
• Work closely with schools and education establishments to ensure support offered to service users is appropriate, planned and coordinated.
• Keeping the child’s voice central to all support and decision making wherever possible: taking the time to talk through and work with the individual child’s understanding around safeguarding and why we need to share certain things.
• Act as duty officer for Wiltshire, responding to incoming calls, logging referrals and making assigned outgoing calls, according to the duty rota. Duty shifts will be 9 – 5 in the Trowbridge Office.
• To understand and work effectively within a multi-agency framework, consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse, in order to reduce the risk for service users and their families.
• Accompany service users, when needed, to other relevant agencies and support them in their interactions with these agencies.
• To work alongside colleagues to deliver a whole family approach.
• Be proactive with your line manager to carry out periodic case reviews.
• Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services work in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all.

Groups and Activities

• Work with the Childrens and Families Team Manager to develop and deliver, a group work intervention for young people.
• Assist with recruiting children and young people to be involved in the development of groups or activities, providing them with on-going support.
• Run groups for children and young people following a planned programme.

General

• Work at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Lone Working Policy and Procedure.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings.
• Update written and computerised records with accurate and clear information.
• Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.
• Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy and best practice.
• To support additional duties at your team managers discretion.

Responsibilities

• Appropriately manage highly confidential information relating to vulnerable people.
• Ensure security of data, especially sensitive personal data, in line with the information security policy.
• Work within FearFree’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
• Be mindful of responsibilities in respect of health and safety.  In particular:

- Co-operate at all times with management in the implementation of and adherence to health and safety policy and procedures;

You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible whatever that means to them; and that they feel able to take an active role in their treatment and become their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert telephone nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s, signposting clients to appropriate internal and external resources as necessary.

• Develop and update professional knowledge of all aspects of Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism to ensure that the information and advice provided is accurate and based on best available evidence.

• Undertake national helpline work to ensure cover across the helpline’s working hours and in line with guidance and as part of a dedicated team.

• Maintain your own knowledge of the work of the charity and other health and social care providers.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to provide information on Parkinson’s medications without prescribing or recommending specific drugs. 

• Knowledge of the importance of raising safeguarding concerns.

• Experience of providing telephone support, including use of active listening and questioning skills, and demonstrable digital competence, including online case management systems

We are recruiting for an experienced Employment and Transition Mentor to work closely with Autistic/neurodivergent individuals aged 16 to 25 residing in the Bromley borough, to enable skills which will assist them in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving their vocational goals.

In partnership with the London Borough of Bromley, this new unique role has been developed as part of an exciting pilot project funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to support autistic/neurodivergent students to transition from school into further training or permanent paid employment. 

The successful candidate will provide training and workshops to participants and their support networks to enhance understanding and coping skills. In addition, the role will be required to provide training for other stakeholders (employers and other organisations) to raise awareness and ensure they understand the needs of the participants. 

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants to help them take the steps they need to gain employment. This can include CV writing, interview practice, work experience, apprenticeships, college and/or other vocational courses, paid employment opportunities.
• Work closely with local employers and engage them in signing up to the Employability programme  
• Act as main liaison between participants and professionals working with the participant to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to enable success

Role Requirements

Your role will be to provide a high standard of housekeeping and accommodation service across site. You will provide excellent levels of cleanliness that are consistent throughout the site.

As part of the site services team the role holder will be expected to liaise with managers and staff across the Trust. The role holder is expected to work closely with the other members of the facilities team and assist in covering in the laundry, in the deep clean team or other works as and when required.

This is an exciting time to join a highly successful and friendly fundraising team at Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) as out National Events Fundraiser. Our ideal candidate is passionate, proactive and organised and will enjoy supporting hundreds of Team MRF runners who are fundraising to defeat meningitis.

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bristol, hybrid or remote working with monthly meetings in Bristol 

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

Role Summary

This role is all about working with people, encouraging them as part of Team MRF and supporting them to reach their fundraising goals. You will need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in motivating people to take action through their fundraising.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is the leading advice charity supporting individuals and families primarily across the London boroughs of Lambeth and Merton but also wider London.  We provide a range of information, support and advice services.  We also work to raise awareness and understanding of the challenging issues affecting our clients and communities.

This role will support people with mental health difficulties referred by South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) as part of their Community Transformation Programme. The service will support adults aged 18 years and over living in Merton who are experiencing mental health challenges and the carers of those individuals.

You will deliver a service providing advice for people that are referred from the Trust’s Single Point of Access (SPA) and other teams. You will manage an active caseload of people, providing a comprehensive advice and casework service to people experiencing mental health issues on issues such as benefits, income maximisation, debt and housing.

The service will also support people to access a range of opportunities in their community including services that support their social and emotional well-being, employment and volunteering opportunities and money and debt advice if needed.

The role will work in partnership with a team of health professionals and peer support workers, part of the role will be in supporting these professionals to identify where referrals are appropriate through feedback. Initial training will also be provided to all professionals on what outcomes we can achieve for service users.

Principal Responsibilities

Advice and casework

• Offer one off advice and casework (as applicable) to all clients referred via face to face appointments, online or telephone

• Ensure all clients are aware of the purpose and where to attend their appointment

• Ensure that all casework conforms to the Citizens Advice quality standards.

• Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.

• Ensure that all work conforms to our systems and procedures.

• Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

• Being sensitive to clients’ needs and limitations to access support.

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.

The Role

The organisation is fully committed to the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in the life of the Church in the second-largest diocese in England.  The safeguarding adviser will manage safeguarding referrals and undertake casework within Oxfordshire. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, has excellent interpersonal skills and will want to promote best practice within safeguarding.  You will work alongside parishes as they ensure that churches are safe for all by providing support, advice and guidance.

You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work with us - around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins the work it does. However, all staff do have a desire to make a difference.

The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified caseworker in a field relevant to safeguarding such as social work, social justice, police work, or probation with current registration where applicable.  You will have the ability to demonstrate transferrable knowledge across the client groups, as well as experience working with victims or survivors of abuse is a must.

Please note this role does require the post holder to have the ability to travel within a large geographical and sometimes within rural areas where there is no access to public transport when required.

The Organisation
