CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. The full programme is listed on the CVAA UK website and inlcudes topics such as LGBTQ+ parenting; therapy for children; identity formation; racism and anti-racism; parenting courses; theraplay and many more.
Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.
The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.
The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to provide support to children and young people diagnosed with cancer and their families. The role is permanent, 29 hours per week.
Our work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely within our supportive Young Lives vs Cancer team, an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and with services in the community.

You will be working with children and families to provide trauma informed support with the aim of reducing trauma symptoms and rebuild relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
To work with children (aged 5 – 16) and their families to provide trauma informed support with the aim of reducing trauma symptoms, rebuilding relationships fractured by domestic abuse and helping the non-abusive parent to understand the impact of domestic abuse on their children so they are better able to support them.
DIRECT WORK WITH CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES
- To understand and assess the needs of children and families and devise a child-focused support plan
- To utilise evidence-based approaches to strengthen attachments and rebuilt relationships with the non-abusive parent that have been fractured as a result of domestic abuse
- To utilise trauma informed ways of working to reduce trauma symptoms and distress in children

- To assist the non-abusive parent / carer in their understanding of the impact of domestic abuse so that they can respond appropriately to the emotional needs of the children
- To attend and initiate mutli-agency meetings where required

To support dads to have positive relationships with their families
We are looking for a Dad Matters Support Coordinator to join our team to deliver 121 support to dads in the perinatal period. The successful candidate will play a key part in better supporting dads/partners in the early days of parenthood across Gloucestershire.

Main Responsibilities
1-2-1 Support to Dads
The post holder will provide individual face to face and telephone support to dads during the perinatal period (from pregnancy to age 2 years of age). This will involve the following:
- Managing a caseload of dads who have been referred to the service by professionals
- Drawing on your own experience of parenting to encourage dad’s strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children
- Signposting and supporting access to other services as appropriate
- Educating dads on the importance of bonding and attachment
- Providing a listening space for dads
- Promoting the importance of good mental health
- Reassuring and validating dad’s experiences
- Maintaining good relationships with referrers

Outreach Support
The post holder will attend Gloucestershire Royal Hospital every week to support dads who are visiting the hospital for antenatal visits and maternity visits. This will involve the following:
- Setting up the Dad Matters pop up information point on the ward
- Liaising with hospital staff and maintaining excellent relationships
- Supporting dads as needed who are visiting the hospital on a 1-2-1 bases
- Signposting dads as appropriate
In addition the post holder will be required to facilitate one Stay and Play session each month. This will involve:
- Keeping essential records of attendees of groups
- Giving dads a safe space to interact and socialise with other dads
- Encouraging dads to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available in the community.

- Supporting the evaluation of the impact of Dad Matters by adhering to monitoring systems and keeping accurate records

Cranstoun is a social justice and harm reduction charity empowering people to empower change. We offer a wide range of services across England within drug and alcohol, domestic abuse, children and young people’s services, criminal justice and housing.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the children and young people’s team for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to be part of shaping and delivering a new early support youth hub pilot within Merry Hill Shopping Centre, Dudley. The hub will support people aged 13+ and those who feel they still require a young people’s approach up to 25. It brings together the specialisms of Cranstoun, complimented by wider partnership delivery and lead areas of responsibility.
We have three positions, each to have a lead theme area, including relationships, youth engagement and emotional health and wellbeing. About the job
We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.
This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.
The Men’s Minds Project Coordinator will work closely with the members in shaping the service and ensuring voices of men in Hounslow are heard and acted upon. This service will be staffed with 1 part-time (25hrs per week) Project Coordinator and a pool of peer led volunteers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the volunteers.

The Role
The role of the Men’s Minds Project Coordinator is to arrange and coordinate a range of psychoeducation, and peer-led workshops which will be delivered weekly. With the addition of attending various community and stakeholder events to deliver the outreach strand of the service.
The role will require hybrid and flexible working: onsite for all the peer/psychoeducation sessions but the with expectation to be attending various community events and services to promote the service.

- Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress
- Experience of raising awareness and participation in outreach events
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour and dealing with clients with complex needs
- Minimum 1 year of project coordination/management
- Experience of facilitating workshops/group sessions
- Experience of managing safeguarding risks and understanding legal requirements for safeguarding adults and children

About the Role

The main focus of this role will be to work with us to continue developing a sustainable care home ministry. We have a desire to further extend our outreach into other care homes in the area from which it is anticipated there will be missional and development opportunities. About You
You should have a nationally recognised biblical, theological or practical mission qualification or equivalent experience evidenced for the role.

You should have proven experience of working in a pastoral context within a church or community groups in a paid or voluntary capacity in previous roles. This is an essential criteria.

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life.
This role is specifically funded through the Youth Endowment fund as a pilot project ‘Thriving Communities’. You will be required to work alongside Thriving Communities commissioners, as well as the project’s Youth Justice Worker’s, Educational Psychologist, and/or professionals assigned to individual young people’s cases- such as teachers, social workers and mentors. The Thriving Communities project is a small part of a wider collaborative project, EMPOWER YOUTH, delivered by two partner charities so, although this position is based at BDCA, you will be working closely with a second East Ham Youth Partnership Project lead and team of Sessional Assistants based at nearby charity The Renewal Programme (TRP). Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.
We work with older people to:
• Encourage active and independent living
• Reduce isolation and loneliness
• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health
• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.
Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
- Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.

- Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
- Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.
4. Finance
- Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.
