Job description

Hours -15 hours per week 

Salary - £29,123 FTE  (£11,649 actual based on hours stated above) - initially funded for one year with plans to extend.

Our charity, Carers Support, works across Bristol and S. Glos to support unpaid family carers who are supporting their loved ones at home. Our Young Carers Service provides help and support to children and young people aged 8-18, their families, and professionals working with young carers.

Young carers are children and young people who look after someone in their family who has a disability, a long-term illness, or is affected by mental ill health or substance misuse.

We currently have a vacancy in our dynamic, creative and supportive Young Carers team, for this new role that with work with Young Carers Voice Group to strengthen and develop the voice of young carers guiding the improvement of support for young carers in the Young Carers Services and in education, health and social care sectors. 

We are looking to recruit a passionate, committed professional who understands young carers unique needs.

Main duties would include:

To:

· Increase the number of young carers involved in Young Carers Voice Group through working with the YCS team and schools.

· Support YCV to develop and implement their annual action plan through organising a creative and engaging YCV programme of bi-weekly evening sessions.

· Facilitate YCV to design, develop and deliver local events and professionals training

· Liaise with local education, health and social care services to enable young carers voice to influence improved support for young carers.
