Job Title: Volunteer Manager

Location: Based in our central office in Islington (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station). You will work in a hybrid approach including regular service visits, office days, and home working. 

Salary: £37,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per requirements of the role.

About the role

This is a new role at SIG, thus a great opportunity to join our team in supporting with and managing the delivery and implementation of our National Volunteering Strategy. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping and producing a strategy which empowers leaders across the organisation to actively recruit, engage and retain volunteers within their services. You will develop and implement a volunteering strategy which is fit for use, realistic and transferrable throughout the organisation, with a structured programme which ensures a positive volunteer experience. 

• Lead the co-creation of the organisation’s National Volunteering Strategy in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Define clear goals, priorities, and success measures for volunteering across the organisation.
• Develop a clear roadmap for implementation of a volunteer strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group’s wider mission and values.
• Work collaboratively with various teams from operations, people and culture, marketing, finance, and other central teams to support the strategy.
• Design and implement a consistent volunteer recruitment, onboarding and induction process, and manage the sharing of information across the organisation.
• Create and manage volunteer hiring workflows, and ensure these are fit for purpose, and that they align with wider strategies, and system implementation.
• Consult and engage with managers on a regular basis to fully understand and identify volunteering needs across services and co-design a diverse range of volunteer roles that add value and reflect local priorities.

• Proven experience in developing or managing volunteer programmes, including recruitment, engagement and retention strategies  
• Ability to design and implement strategies, with a clear understanding of how to align volunteering initiatives with organisational needs
• In depth understanding of volunteering programmes and the knowledge, skills and ability to create role profiles for volunteers
• Ability to build local networks and relationships locally and nationally, and utilise platforms available, including new ones to share opportunities available
• Ability to think creatively to improve processes
• Proactiveness and outgoing approach to work, ability to use initiative to resolve challenges
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment

Job Purpose

Hosted by Volunteering Matters, the Business Support Coordinator will support the #iWill Movement’s core functions, with particular focus on supporting strategy, partnership, and communications activity, ensuring meetings, events, campaigns and wider activities are planned, coordinated and delivered to a high standard. From liaising with partners, to developing online resources, coordinating online and in-person activity, monitoring delivery, and managing financial transactions, the role supports the movement to create long lasting change via the power of youth.

This role works as part of the wider #iWill team from Volunteering Matters and UK Youth, and reports to the Head of #iWill Movement Strategy and Co-ordination.

The role requires reliable internet access, and ability to work independently whilst also part of a busy remote team. The role is part of the UK wide #iWill team and will report to the Head of #iWill Strategy and Coordination, and work closely with the Digital Communications Manager. Duties may vary in line with the needs of the Movement as appropriate.

About the role

We're hiring a Support Coach to join our Independent Approved Premises, commissioned by Criminal Justice Service (IAP) which works with high risk offenders who have left prison. Penrose Drive is a community setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community if they do not have restrictions on their license. Security is therefore flexible in both design and operation. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners. You will join the team to support in the rehabilitation and reintegration of our residents back into the community. You will engage with them through key working activities to understand their needs and goals, then provide pathways and support to enable them to independence and help reduce reoffending. 

The service hold regular activities in service, in a bright and airy environment. The team work closely with one another and support which achieving overall service KPI's, and you will be part of making a greater change. Everyday looks different so this is perfect for someone who wants a role where no two days are the same. We provide fresh hot meals to our residents which can also be enjoyed by staff. 

About you

We're looking for someone who has a background in ciminal justice services, and has a real passion for what we do. We're looking for someone who can build trust and rapport with others, and has a positive outlook, which can be used to support others.

They’re looking for a Director of Programmes with a proven ability to scale services, build systems that support consistent delivery, and ensure quality is never compromised.
