Home-Start Barnet, Brent & Harrow supports families with young children through challenging times. We are looking for an experienced and organised Finance & Business Manager to ensure our charity’s finances and core business functions run smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a friendly and committed team. You will lead our day-to-day financial management while overseeing governance administration, HR processes, contracts and organisational systems.

What you’ll do

You will:

• Produce management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports.

Finance & Governance Lead

Salary: £45,000 - 47,500 FTE (£22,500-£23,750 pro rata depending on experience)

Hours: The role is 0.5 FTE employee ie 2.5 days/20 hours a week. Occasional flexible working may be required.

Strategic Financial Leadership

Financial Administration

●      Full bookkeeping responsibilities on Xero accounts package.

Financial management

●      You will manage the cashflow management, reserves and investments, and oversee the payroll and other statutory obligations

Statutory Accounting

● Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts liaising with the external accountant, ensuring compliance with Charity SORP, Companies House, Charity Commission and HMRC requirements

Funding & Grant Management

● Lead the financial management, monitoring and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funding, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and supporting effective budget management across the charity

● Support budgeting and reporting for grants, contracts and funding agreements.

Governance & Compliance

● Prepare financial reports and papers for the Board of Trustees and present at the meetings.

Essential skills and qualities

About the role

About the role

As the Finance Transformation Manager, you will lead initiatives that enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of our finance function, enabling the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

Tinnitus UK is looking for an experienced, ambitious and highly organised Operations Manager to join our senior team and play a key role in the leadership and future development of the charity.

You will work closely with our CEO, Board of Trustees and colleagues across the organisation to help turn our ambitions into action and ensure Tinnitus UK has the strong foundations, systems and ways of working it needs to succeed and to best support people living with tinnitus, and those who support them.

You will be an important link between the staff team and Board, bringing insight, challenge and practical solutions to organisational decision-making. You will be confident working with colleagues at all levels, from supporting and developing your team to discussing finance, governance and organisational priorities with the CEO and Trustees. You will build trusted relationships with external partners and suppliers and be comfortable offering constructive challenge when needed.

You will bring experience across a number of areas including organisational operations, financial management, project and change management, governance and risk, people management, suppliers and contracts, and organisational systems or CRM platforms.

Experience within the charity sector, membership organisations, digital transformation, events or professional education would be valuable, as would experience working closely with a CEO, senior leadership team or Board.
