To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Officer to join our small yet dynamic Fundraising team to help grow our income through Charitable Trusts and Foundations and from Statutory bodies. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we look to build a future of excellent frontline services and influential lived experience led campaigning. 

You will play an integral role in delivering on generating income to pursue our strategic priorities, managing high-value Trusts and Statutory relationships, joining a dynamic and ambitious organisation with exciting opportunities for fundraisers to contribute to growth and development.

In this role you will:

· Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of £50k+ prospects, working with fundraising and operational colleagues to develop high-value, strategic and multi-year opportunities.

• Prepare and submit compelling funding applications to trusts and foundations and other grant making bodies to grow income.

· Account manages key Trusts & Statutory funders, leading on the development of impact reports, and ensuring a bespoke and memorable stewardship experience by developing plans for key funders.

The role 

You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, ensuring financial functions are carried out efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely way to enable us to focus on achieving our charitable mission.

The focus of the role will be on managing and improving financial processes, ensuring that the Senior Leadership Team have up-to-date and accurate records for reporting to the Board, supporting the programmes and philanthropy teams with accurate fund reports and preparing the accounts for audit each year.  You will work closely with the whole team of staff and volunteers, but you will work most closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager.

You’ll be provided with training on our CRM and IT systems. The successful applicant will always be expected to observe our values and policies and to actively engage with continuous professional development.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

1. Treasury and Investment Management

· Monitor endowment investments and provide calculations and support in relation to total return

· Prepare quarterly investment management report

· Treasury management to maximise our investment returns

2. Bookkeeping and Management Accounts

· Work with the Finance Manager to ensure donations are properly recorded on our CRM and in Sage

· Work with the Finance Manager to reconcile bank accounts monthly

· Preparing monthly management reports, noting significant variances with forecasts

· Monitor outstanding debtors, and with line manager approval, chase overdue debtors

· Prepare fund balances when required by the programmes team to support grant-making

· Presentation of management accounts to board and engagement with board members as required

3. Annual Accounts

· Prepare statutory accounts, working with the Operations Director and CEO to ensure income and costs are allocated accurately across SORP categories

· Participate in the Audit process, engaging with auditors and prepare information for audit and liaise with auditors in the conduct of the annual audit process

· Prepare annual fundholder statements

· Support the Senior Leadership Team in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecast

4. Other Work Required

· Support the Finance Manager and provide cross cover when required

· Attend SCF events as requested, including very occasionally, evenings

Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Required

· Ideally at least five years’ experience in a similar role

· Minimum of AAT Level 4, preferably ACA/ACCA or equivalent

· Experience of accounting software, especially Sage Line 50

· Experience of working with databases and Microsoft Office, including Office 365

· Knowledge of charity finance

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Finance and operations manager – Job Description 

We are seeking a thoughtful, compassionate, and experienced finance and operations manager.  This is a new role in an expanding team that will contribute to the senior leadership of the organisation and be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the charity, with a focus on financial management.  
Our new Finance and Operations Manager will work closely with the CEO to set and manage the organisation’s strategic plan, drive strategic initiatives, manage resources, and foster a positive and reflective workplace culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Leadership and Team Management  

• Embody the values of The Magpie Project and support the CEO to maintain the core vision and principles of the organisation in all its activities. 

• Support the CEO in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the charity, including deputising for her when appropriate. 

• Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders (donors, community partners, other non-profit organisations), and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to enhance the organisation’s impact and reach. 

• Represent The Magpie Project externally where appropriate.

• Develop and maintain relevant internal policies. 

• Lead on risk management within the organisation, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

• Maintain relationships with external suppliers including DBS service providers, insurers, telephone and internet, banking, and software technicians. 

Person Specification 

• Experience in a senior finance role in a charity, including budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial management.

Strathclyde would like to appoint an early career fundraiser to the role of Alumni Fund Officer, working within its established and successful Alumni and Development team. This role will deliver fundraising programmes to support the University’s Alumni Fund – a fund which is championed by many thousands of our graduates, and which supports the whole student experience. 

You will deliver a range of fundraising projects including an annual student telethon campaign, direct mail, and digital projects (including Giving Day campaigns). Working across the University, you will develop close and supportive relationships with senior staff and talented students alike.

The University’s Alumni Fund helps students to have an outstanding student experience by funding a range of projects including scholarships for students in need; community programmes; international experiences; learning resources and student-led projects. The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, leading cutting-edge research and working for change - scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference. 

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has a critical role in ensuring we succeed in this work. You have a key leadership role in overseeing the overall health of the Fund in partnership with the Executive Director. The role oversees our finances, people management and – for the right candidate –much of our grant-making and project management.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, provide leadership of the charity (which is also a company limited by guarantee) by directing and structuring the work of the wider staff and volunteer team. Manage a broad range of business needs and resources, including income generation, finances, staffing and contract/grant funding compliance, thereby ensuring sustainability through effective governance, sound finances and delivery of high-quality services in accordance with DWC’s vision, mission, values and strategic plans.

Principal Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Overall Management

· Together with the Trustees/Directors, develop and agree the strategic plan, operational plan, vision, mission and values.

· Lead the organisation and ensure it meets its legal and social obligations and the challenges of financial sustainability.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Charity Commission, Companies House, and Health and Safety Executive, as well as with quality standards and with contract/grant monitoring requirements.

· Identify and implement new business opportunities in line with the charitable aims outlined in the Articles of Association.

Governance

· Work with the Board to ensure effective governance is provided through Trustees/Directors with an understanding of DWC’s purpose and a mixture of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

· Ensure the Trustees have sufficient resources, guidance and professional advice.

· Ensure the preparation of meeting agendas, supporting papers and minutes, and that agreed actions are progressed.

· Oversee arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, including the production of the annual trustees report and accounts.

Staff and Volunteer Management

· Manage, motivate and lead the staff and volunteer team.

· Line manage service managers/lead personnel, ensuring they are well supported and that agreed objectives are achieved.

Finance

Chief Operating Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer to join the team in this hybrid-working role.

About the Role

Our team currently consists of 8 dedicated staff members and is led by our CEO, Anne Bishop. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new role for BAUS. It will be a key part of our Senior Leadership Team, playing a vital part in the development and implementation of our strategy and deputising for the Chief Executive.

The COO role provides the essential financial stability and operational facilities to enable future growth through leadership and management of finance, maintaining and developing our IT infrastructure, and ensuring effective governance and regulatory compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role:The Senior Development Officer ​plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.

This position provides a full-time, permanent contract with hybrid working hours, consisting of a 35-hour week. The role allows for hybrid work, including remote work from home, with one day per month at our head office in London.

Principle Responsibilities:
​

• To work closely with the Head of Development to research and identify new opportunities.
• Develop, prepare, and submit high quality funding applications, acting as bid writing SME.
• Peer Review support to mentor other team members.
• Work with Head of Development to increase the accuracy of our Salesforce data, resulting in data dashboards suitable to the reporting needs of our funders.
• Collaborate with Development and Senior F&R Officer to implement a team strategy and support a lean process of reporting.
• Work with Senior Finance & Reporting Officer to report impact to our funders in line in the funding requirements.
• To work closely with Head of Development to develop and implement our fundraising strategy.
• Represent the organisation at research based events, developing our understanding and enhancing our delivery.
• Identify new opportunities and working with the team to covert these to applications and funding.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.

London, UK (hybrid with up to three days on site per week). May include international travel.

Salary range

£32,600 rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

Contract

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proposal development, grant management and reporting

•  Develop concept notes and proposals, collaborating with relevant teams to ensure alignment with Girls Not Brides’ priorities and with donor requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation of budgets, work plans, and other supporting materials for grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Support in monitoring grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accountability.
• Prepare timely and accurate donor reports and updates.
   

Donor cultivation and stewardship

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors to expand Girls Not Brides’ network and strengthen collaborations. 
   

Fundraising strategy

• Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to diversify and increase Girls Not Brides’ funding base, in alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.
