As part of our collaborative Finance Business Partnering team, you’ll support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and activism across Mencap. This role is a full time permanent position.There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK. You will need to travel occasionally for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely. 

Key responsibilities include:

· Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.

This role is a full time position and reports to the Director of People + Operations. 

This is a mission critical role that helps us build seamless, smart, and compliant operations for our organisation. The overall remit of this role is to:

1. Support on key aspects of financial management across budget development and forecasting, monthly reporting, and managing our external finance partners.

2. Managing domestic and international payroll via our employment partners, and managing vendors and contracting. 

3. Support on general operations across systems and software administration, and compliance practices.

Financial Management + Forecasting

• Support work on annual and multi-year budget forecasts, based on programming needs and organizational trajectory 

• Develop and maintain budget forecasting tools for departments to manage their annual budgets, to help inform strategic decision-making

• Manage organization’s cash flow to ensure financial stability across restricted and unrestricted funding

• Allocate staff, program, and operational costs to appropriate grants and work with finance partners to create budget systems to assign and track that spend

• Oversee work of our external bookkeeping and accounting partner–Jitasa–and serve as their main point person

• Develop cost types and appropriate coding for all expenses, and manage correct use of them

• Oversee and execute payroll cycles for all employees and contractors, through our domestic and international PEO, and vendor management platform

• Manage all software and team systems, including access, permissions, and renewals

• Ensure all systems and data are managed in compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation

• Ensure team data protection policies are up to date, relevant and adhered to

• Serve as the main point of contact to Climate Catalyst’s insurance broker and manage insurance policies – ensuring all policies are clearly accessible and paid in a timely fashion.

Treasury and Cash Manager | 12-months | £500 - £600 per day (Inside IR35) | UK - Remote

For a large, complex international organisation which operates in more than 80 currencies with over 80 banking partners in 100+ countries, we're recruiting an Interim Cash, Risk and Treasury Manager. Reporting to the Corporate Treasurer, this role will implement all aspects of corporate treasury policy, processes, controls, analysis and investment strategies including cash management, financing and investment activities, risk management, and loss prevention. The interim Treasury Manager will build relationships with banks and will identify ways to improve in-country banking and repatriation of cash, including liquidity, cash forecasting, and debt management.

Main Duties:

• Manage the banking platforms and processes including the European zero balancing cash pool
• Optimise cash-flow and improve cash flow forecasting across the business, optimising investment income and work in partnership with Shared Services, and Country Finance teams

The Job

As Financial Accountant, you'll lead a small team and report to the Head of Financial Accounting. You'll be responsible for producing accurate financial statements, managing audit deliverables, ensuring compliance with charity and company law, and driving improvements in financial processes and reporting. The role will focus  on growing the value of funding from large trusts and foundations globally, as well as from corporate foundations and institutional funders via consortium partnerships with larger conservation actors.

The role will oversee grant and contract management with existing organisational and institutional partnerships, as well as grow this portfolio through developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities, finding creative ways to secure visibility and first meetings, developing relationships, compelling funding applications and ensuring strong contract management oversight.

The role will lead a team of two, work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues based in the US and UK to secure visibility with and develop strong long-term partnerships with new Trusts and Foundations; and work closely with colleagues in Kenya to ensure strong project delivery and grant management. Responsibilities include:

• Lead the implementation of the Trusts & Foundations (T&Fs) programme with a particular focus on growing the portfolio of large T&Fs in the USA, UK and European markets;
• Work with fundraising colleagues across priority markets and with communications colleagues, using innovative and proactive approaches to business development and relationship building to unlock visibility opportunities and develop relationships with new prospects; in order to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value funding opportunities.  
• Continue to oversee the current ‘programme funding’ portfolio which includes existing institutional funding partnerships and corporate foundation relationships in Kenya, ensuring that ongoing and new opportunities where they exist are capitalised on.

This role is essential in our drive for evidencing the impact of the work we do. You will lead and manage a large-scale, multi-organisation piece of research aiming to highlight the impact of our programmes.
