We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional with strong ledger and reconciliation experience to join our Finance and Legacy Administration team as Finance Officer. About you:
We’re looking for someone with substantial experience using finance software packages, strong skills in sales and nominal ledger management, and a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping. You’ll need excellent Excel and numeracy skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Ideally, you’ll be AAT qualified or part-qualified, with experience using Sage 200 or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and familiarity with EPOS systems, charity VAT, and foreign currency transactions. A flexible, organised, and conscientious approach is essential, along with a genuine interest in the work and values of World Horse Welfare.
Location:
The role is based in Norfolk and is currently a hybrid split of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and 3 days at home. You may be required to attend events around the UK so the ability to travel occasionally is necessary.

Title of Consultancy: Finance Consultant
Location: Sightsavers Bangladesh Country Office in Banani, Dhaka, operating during regular office hours (09:00 to 17:00, Sunday to Thursday), the consultant will require on occasion to travel within the country and abroad for supporting activities.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare periodical cash flow forecasts and monthly fund requests
- Review expenditures to ensure all supporting documents are attached to vouchers and correctly coded in SUN/UniFi
- Ensure month-end and project-end financial processes are completed on time
- Collect bank reconciliation certificates alongside financial reports from partners
- Finalise partner budgets, review periodic reports, and ensure accurate posting; monitor budget burn rates including partner projects
- Conduct financial monitoring of projects, including audits and oversight of partner organisations; carry out regular monitoring visits
- Support the Country Director and Finance & Support Services Manager (FSSM) in preparing project budgets and reforecasts as required
- Ensure timely preparation for project audits, including those involving partners
- Maintain finance records systematically in both hard and soft formats
- Conduct financial monitoring visits to partner organisations on a regular basis
- Verify partner project expenses against approved budgets and protocols
- Provide financial and logistical support as requested by partners or as needed
- Follow up on timely submission of financial reports from partners to Sightsavers
- Ensure proper financial monitoring of projects, including audits and financial management of partner organisations
- Support partners with budgetary control, revisions, and forecasts as needed
- Assist partners with regular budget variance analysis
Duration of the consultancy
The Finance Consultant will be engaged for a period of three and a half months, commencing in November 2025 and concluding in mid-February 2026. Any extension beyond this period will be subject to mutual agreement and dependent on project requirements.
Payment terms
The agreed budget for this consultancy will be discussed during the interview process. Consultants with a proven track record in the areas outlined will be engaged through an expression of interest process. Consultant’s expertise
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Management, or Business Administration is desirable, though equivalent and relevant professional experience will be considered
- Experience working within reputable NGOs or INGOs
- Experience managing donor funds
- Experience in project accounting and working with partner organisations
- Strong skills in accounting data processing and financial report writing
- Knowledge of national tax and VAT regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Effective communication skills in both English and Bangla

About the Role

Job Summary

- Provide financial information, advice and support, including training, which meets the needs of the Trustees, SMT and other staff within Pecan. In particular, work with service leads to provide all necessary financial budgeting input to funding bids and funding monitoring and reporting, ideally also upskilling the service leads in this area.

We’re looking for two, mutually-supporting, Finance Business Partners to join our Finance team at Woodgreen, where their insight and initiative will help shape the future of our charity.
Our successful candidates will individually and collectively contribute to the effective financial management of Woodgreen Pets Charity and its trading subsidiary, Wood Green Enterprises Limited (“WGEL”). They will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders to provide expert financial guidance, insight, challenge, and assurance across a wide range of financial management, planning and analysis activities.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, but working independently within the charity and often with minimal supervision, you will be confident using your own initiative to identify opportunities, risks, and solutions. You will provide actionable insights for budget holders, whilst maintaining rigorous attention to the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and robust audit-ready record keeping. You will:
- Build trust with decision makers and budget holders so that Finance Business Partner analysis, advice and guidance is actively sought and adds value in generating desired business outcomes.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, promoting commercial and risk awareness to inform decision making, providing constructive challenge and ensuring that financial governance, control and alignment to Woodgreen’s strategic plans is maintained.
- Be highly visible and engage early in supporting projects and leading them where required. This will include the development of the financial aspects of business cases, particularly the financial aspects which ensure that business cases are of a consistent high quality and are robust and accurate.
The two roles will be equivalent, offering similar opportunities and challenges, but will be responsible for different areas of the charity’s work. One role will partner with budget holders in the Income and Engagement Directorate, which includes responsibilities for regular audits of Woodgreen’s retail estate and may involve some regional travel. The second role will partner with budget holders in the Pet and Corporate Services directorates, plus the CEO as the lead director for WGEL.
If you have:
- a detailed understanding of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, IF statements, and other advanced functions;
- the ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data and understand complex interdependencies;

Purpose of this Role
Our finance functions are currently partially outsourced to an external contractor. Our income has grown significantly over the past five years and our Board have now decided to employ a Finance Manager and bring financial expertise in-house. In this new position as the Finance Manager at Reaching Higher, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, payroll and pension management, and financial governance and compliance. You will support all aspects of Reaching Higher’s work and development through ensuring strong financial systems.
