The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Global Finance Manager to join their team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.

As a Global Finance Manager with Clean Air Fund, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the organisation’s finance function. About Finance at Hope into Action 

The finance function of Hope into Action is small team comprising the Finance Manager, the Finance Administrators (job-share) and a volunteer reporting to the Head of Operations. It is largely paperless and supports our 44 staff with accounts payable and receivable functions. It works in conjunction with the other departments to deliver timely, accurate and strategic financial information for both the Executive Team and the Board of Trustees.

About the role 

The Finance Manager is a key role in enabling Hope into Action fulfil its vision of every church lovingly making a home for those experiencing homelessness.

The role is broad ranging; from managing the Finance Administrators, supporting their work when needed and also producing the monthly management accounts within our target of 10 working days from the month end.

In addition, you will support the year end work by producing the schedules required by auditors, take a lead in the annual budgeting process, produce the biannual investor statements and compile the Gift Aid returns. 

You will be expected to meet regularly with budget holders to help them achieve their targets and/or devise a plan to bring them back on track.

This is an exciting time to join Liverpool Zoe’s Place and the Finance Manager is a new post for the organisation. The Baby Hospice transferred to the new charity on May 1st 2025 with great potential for commissioning, and with a healthy financial platform due to the generosity of businesses and the public in Liverpool. This is a new start for Liverpool Zoe’s Place and our plans for a brand new state of the art hospice are agreed and we will move into the new hospice by June 2026, with all the required funding in place.

This post is to manage and co-ordinate the smooth running of the finance department ensuring all processes and procedures are streamlined, efficient and produced in a timely manner. This will involve the management of daily financial matters and overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts for both the hospice and its commercial companies. Role Purpose

As our international grantmaking and emergency relief support expands, we are seeking an experienced International Finance Manager to oversee high-risk and complex financial operations in humanitarian and activist contexts globally.

The International Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and oversight across our growing global grantmaking portfolio. Essential Experience and Knowledge

Terms and benefits:

Terms: The role will be full-time (37.5 hours/week) permanent contract  - we will consider well-structured JobShare applications. As we often work with volunteers, occasional evening and weekend work will be required and compensated through TOIL. Occasional but limited UK or European travel will be required (by arrangement).

Salary: £39,705

Location: You must be based in the UK. We have an office in Farringdon, London, where London-based staff typically work at least two days a week. If you are based outside of London, the role will be home-based. 

We hold quarterly all-staff strategy meetings and annual away days which you will be required to attend in person: we will cover the cost of your travel. You will be required to come together with the team occasionally and these travel costs will not be covered, we try our best to keep these to when only necessary.

• Experience in financial management and bookkeeping, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.

We’re seeking a Finance Manager to lead robust financial reporting and governance across 80 parish sites, while supporting central operations from our Crawley base.

In this key role, you’ll produce timely and accurate management accounts, oversee cloud-based reporting, and lead on the preparation of annual statutory accounts. You’ll be the primary contact for external auditors and play a central part in reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee.

You’ll also manage cashflow forecasting, tax compliance, treasury and investment activity, and VAT (for one subsidiary). Charity sector experience is highly desirable, but your collaborative, flexible leadership—especially of a diverse network of staff and volunteer finance teams—will be most essential.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll oversee the support of cloud-based reporting for 80 parish sites and the delivery of timely, accurate management accounts for central operations based at our Crawley site. You will have a key role in providing high-quality financial reporting to our Trustees and Diocesan Finance Committee (DFC). You'll also lead the team in producing statutory audited accounts, acting as the principal contact for external auditors.

With additional responsibility for cashflow forecasting, treasury and investment management, tax compliance, VAT (for one subsidiary), and gift aid, this role ensures that the Diocese maintains robust financial governance. While Charity sector experience is a significant advantage in this position, it is your flexible and positive leadership of a diverse staff and volunteer finance community across some 80 sites that will set you apart.

The Opportunity

We work across three countries – Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda – in areas where children are acutely impacted by a lack of opportunity, exploitation and isolation. As Finance Manager you will have principal responsibility for the sound financial management of the charity, including the provision of management accounts and reports, financial advice to stakeholders and budgetary support to the fundraising and projects teams.
