We are a ‘small but mighty’ charity with one big ambition: to stop leukaemia devastating lives. Over the next 10 years we want to help save and improve the lives of more people with leukaemia through funding life-changing research and campaigning for change.

Despite progress in recent decades, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 16 minutes and for some types of leukaemia survival rates are among the worst of any cancer.  And the physical and psychological impact can be lifelong. 

Our current strategy outlines our plan to increase our investment in ground-breaking world class research and policy development focused on improving access to kinder, more effective diagnosis, treatment and care for leukaemia and other blood cancers. Leukaemia UK and You 

We have recently invested in growing our fundraising team so that we can fund more life-changing research to increase our understanding of leukaemia as a disease, and accelerate the development of kinder, more effective treatments. This includes investment to grow the fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, recruit new supporters, and increase legacy giving through targeted campaigns.

This is a key role for an organised and accurate administrator with strong attention to detail to support the Fundraising Team across a broad portfolio - from community and challenge to philanthropy – with a focus on stewarding our dedicated in-memory supporters.

With a range of administrative tasks and supporter care to ensure our fundraisers have a positive supporter journey with Leukaemia UK, vital to retaining those relationships. These will include, but aren’t limited to, banking cheques and thanking donors, sending out fundraising materials, database administration, managing inbound enquiries and processing new regular givers.

The successful candidate will be a friendly, supporter-focused individual who approaches their work with pride and enthusiasm, working quickly, accurately and diligently in a fast-paced environment. They will need to be able to work from our central London office at least two days a week.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Good working knowledge of customer/supporter databases (ideally Salesforce CRM but not essential).
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Professional, confident and friendly telephone manner to work with a wide range of people and suppliers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across LUK.
• Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written English including spelling and grammar.

Job specifics

• Hours: Full time hours are 37.5 Monday to Friday
• Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in the office
• Salary range £22,000 - £27,000 (FTE)

Main duties:

· Oversight and delivery of all programme activities relating to Antifreeze including drop ins, one-to-one support, street outreach and faith-based activities.

· Establish and drive the overall strategic vision for the service in line with the operational plan and informed by the needs of the people the service exists for

· Lead the design and development of new services in line with client needs, resources, staffing and the strategic purpose of the team.

· Hold direct budget responsibility for day-to-day operations and in line with any specific funding requirements

· Review and implement policies and procedures for safe service delivery

· Provide reports on key activity, outputs and impact in line with KPIs and other reporting requirements.

Key attributes and experience required for the role:

The Institute of Medical Ethics was founded in 1970 – it is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity in England & Wales. As a charitable organisation we promote and support the impartial study and understanding of medical ethics and its integration into clinical practice through education, research, and publication.  

Since its foundation, it has established a leading role in the field of medical ethics in the UK and has been highly influential in establishing medical ethics as part of the core curriculum in medical schools.  

It has been a membership organisation since 2013 with around 200 members composed mainly of doctors, medical students, medical ethics teachers, bioethics researchers and allied health professionals.  

Major IME activities at present include conferences, online seminars, publication of web-based resources to support the teaching of medical ethics and awarding of grants and scholarships. The IME is co-owner with the BMJ publishing group of two highly-respected journals produced in association with BMJ publishing: the Journal of Medical Ethics (JME) and Medical Humanities (MH) with an additional online journal to be launched in 2025.

The IME is a small charity with staff consisting of the Chief Executive, a Digital Content Editor, the Membership & Administration Officer with support from a Finance Contractor.  The staff report to the Board of Trustees and work alongside approximately 70 volunteers that sit on the various committees and working groups. Committees and working groups are chaired by trustees.

The Resilient Futures Fund, a new subsidiary of Christian Aid, is pioneering a bold approach to climate philanthropy, one that blends donor giving with impact investment to unlock long-term, scalable solutions for vulnerable communities.

As Senior New Business Development Officer, you will lead the development and implementation of The Resilient Futures Fund's philanthropic fundraising strategy, working closely with the Head of Fund and colleagues across Christian Aid. • Managing a busy caseload of self-referrals, referred service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims.
• Ensuring each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Working alongside the Volunteer and Community Manager to raise awareness of the Hate Crime and the service we provide

You will need:

• You will have the skills to conduct risk assessments, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning.

• An ability to work independently and prioritise a busy workload is essential.

About the role:

The Advance Prison Advocate will support women on remand and those unsentenced within the prison setting, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.

The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

About You:

To be successful as the Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Fundraising Officer to play a key role in growing income streams and building strong supporter relationships.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Implement approved sales and fundraising strategies and workplans
• Translate targets into outreach schedules, campaigns, and account plans
• Monitor market trends and provide feedback for strategy refinement
• Ensure alignment with brand, impact frameworks, and ethical standards
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline across all key funder segments
• Execute full business development cycle
• Deliver offerings (e.g. memberships, consulting, events) with consistent value
• Lead compliant bid submissions and tenders
• Develop tailored proposals, decks, and budgets using templates
• Communicate case for support with clear outcomes and partner benefits
• Collaborate with programme leads on offer packaging and pricing
• Manage onboarding, delivery, reporting, and recognition processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate grant and sponsorship reporting
• Maintain revenue forecasts and update pipeline dashboards
• Work with Finance on contracts, invoicing, and audits
• Apply pricing and margin guidelines; ensure compliance.
• Follow fundraising, data privacy, and ethics policies.
• Provide content for marketing and lead-generation campaigns
• Help build internal capacity on donor relations and pipeline hygiene
• Integrate KPIs and impact narratives into pitches and proposals
• Keep CRM data accurate and meet activity SLAs
• Track and improve conversion rates and pipeline performance
• Share market feedback to refine strategies and offerings

Ideal candidate profile:

• Strong proposal writing, pitching and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated success executing sales and/or fundraising plans with measurable revenue delivery
• Experience delivering defined sponsorships, partnerships, or commercial offers tied to programmes/services
• Charity / Hospitality sector experience

We are looking for a senior solicitor who is passionate about working for an international humanitarian organisation and who shares the values of Action Against Hunger and the wider sector.

Working with the Chief Executive and the Executive Committee of Directors, you will act as Company Secretary and as head of a small Legal and Governance team. This will involve providing high quality advice on legal, risk, compliance and governance matters across the UK organisation and progressing strategic priorities to ensure first class management of these areas. 

You will respond to a broad range of legal queries and develop robust policies and procedures to advise on compliance with legal, regulatory and donor requirements, voluntary standards and best practice.  You will be confident in working independently to provide high quality advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, preparing and delivering training, working with the Board of Trustees and instructing external counsel where appropriate. You will also work closely with the Executive Committee and the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee to support reporting and management of risks across the organisation.
