A small but highly specialist professional membership body & not-for-profit is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.
The role is paying circa £32,000 per annum and offers hybrid working – this will be a mixture of office-based work in central London and home-working. They also offer a generous pension and other benefits.
The organisation is a professional membership body with a range of products and services aimed at raising awareness of quality (governance, assurance, improvement) and growing capability within organisations in all sectors. Reporting to the Management Accountant, The Finance Officer will work in a small finance team, and will primarily focus on 3 core areas:
- Purchase Ledger (invoices and payment runs)
- Payroll (using SAAS, software as a service where a payroll system is rented from an external provider but effectively done in-house) for around 50 staff
- Month-end duties (reconciliations and journals)
Other duties will include assisting with sales ledger, dealing with suppliers, financial admin & filing and assisting the Management Accountant with various duties.
The organisation is seeking an experienced, professional Finance Officer, ideally AAT fully-qualified or ACCA/CIMA part qualified. Experience with charity sector finance will be useful but not essential. Experience with payroll will also be very useful, however this is not essential as training will be provided.

What will I be doing?
- Producing the planning and reporting for our Retail & Trading teams (600+ cost centres). What skills will I need?

- Produced financial planning within a large, multisite organisation (100+ sites/ cost centres) that receives a high volume of daily transactions/ sales (this can be in a non-Retail industry such as hospitality).
- Experience in delivering financial planning, modelling, and reporting (including variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting).
- Supported a budgeting and forecasting cycle throughout a full financial year.
- Built strong business partnering relationships with an ability to clearly analyse, present, and explain financial information and extract key issues with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Can set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations.
- IT Literate and comfortable manipulating data in Excel (e.g. v-lookups, index match and Pivot Tables)

About the role
Systemic Justice is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our growing organisation. You will assist with day-to-day book-keeping, accounting and expense monitoring. Part of our small Finance and Operations team, you will be working closely with our Finance Manager as well as the rest of our remote team.

- Handling of all documentation for all financial transactions

RSTMH is a charity and membership society for those working or interested in tropical medicine and global health, and currently have almost 1,800 members from more than 90 countries, with a network of more than 10,000 involved with our work in some way. We are looking for an experienced Membership Manager who will help us manage all aspects of our membership programme. This involves maintaining high levels of retention and developing and delivering new recruitment strategies for members across the world.
The role will also focus on developing membership journey programmes to ensure our members receive top quality service from the Society and that all membership processes are undertaken with efficiency, energy and effectiveness.

This post is London-based. We have a hybrid working model of minimum 2 days per week (for full time staff) at our King’s Cross office (2 Granary Square, London N1C 4BH).

Art Fund is the UK’s national fundraising charity for art. We give grants to help museums, galleries, historic houses and public arts organisations to acquire objects for their collections, to share them with as many people as possible, and to support research and training for museum professionals. The role
This is an important and exciting post for the organisation and as the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading best practice financial reporting and analysis for the charity. The role has two direct reports (as part of a team of five) and involves working across the organisation and with senior leadership and trustees to deliver and communicate first class management information.
This is impactful and broad Head of Finance role, but to give an idea of focus, the core areas of delivery will include:
- Statutory accounts & audit – act as the primary contact for the external auditor, ensure the accounts are consistent with financial standards requirements and delivered on time
- Budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and financial analysis - present management accounts and reforecasts to senior leadership, trustees and staff
- Change & improvements – proactively support transformation on CRM systems upgrade, be fully involved in the selection of a new finance system for implementation in 2025

Pensions- Eligible employees are enrolled into the scheme with the exception of those who have contracts of three months or less. Art Fund contributes 8% of the basic annual salary during the first six months of employment or until probation is successfully completed, whichever is the later. Overall purpose of the role
- Support the production for the monthly management accounts
- Assist in the preparation of the annual reports and financial statements
- Manage the sales ledger for both Royal Trinity Hospice and Trinity Hospice Shops Limited
- Prepare weekly sales reports and weekly cash flow statements
- Assist with the general work of the Finance Department as required
Skills and experience required
- CCAB membership – Qualified or AAT / Equivalent
- Understanding of accounting double-entry and accounting concepts
- Competence in MS Office suite with accurate keyboard skills
- Advanced excel user; being able to write and combine formulas ie SUMIFS, SUMPRODUCT, INDEX, MATCH, PIVOT TABLES and LOOKUP
- Experience of preparing and analysing complex financial information
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of working in the charity sector and or understanding of charity taxation would be advantageous

Purpose of job:
To ensure the right cost structure, financial operating platform, systems and controls are in place to deliver Comic Relief’s vision and strategy, making sure investments are effectively managed and protected and making sure high levels of integrity are upheld.
They will also ensure that appropriate advice, information, insight and support is provided to trustees, directors and staff on all financial matters relating to the charity and its trading subsidiaries. Alongside this they will support strategic planning and building finance capability across the organisation.
Finally, the Head of Finance will ensure that Comic Relief operates financial systems and processes which ensure effective governance and compliance with key statutory and regulatory requirements and with our own risk management strategy.
Key Accountabilities / Objectives:
· Own the organisational budget, forecasting, cash flow management reporting and financial KPIs.
· Ensure robust financial controls and policies are in place and functioning effectively.

· Oversee year-end audit and production of financials statements including Trustees’ Report.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
· Qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience and a good understanding of financial systems and processes.
· Extensive experience of using finance systems – Xledger and Adaptive Insights would be desirable.
· Knowledge of Charities SORP, statutory accounting regulations, VAT (including exempt, partial exemption, and reverse charges), PAYE and other payroll taxes, and Gift Aid.
· Experience of working effectively in cross-functional project teams.
· Experience of operating at and presenting ideas at senior level including at Board level.
· Proven experience of coaching and training both finance and non-finance staff.
· Understanding of voluntary sector, financial controls required and how to work with decision making structure (including Trustees) preferred.
