Fuel Bank – Triage Support Advisor

As Triage Support Adviser at Fuel Bank Foundation, you will be the first point of contact for beneficiaries, partners, or referral agencies seeking assistance. Your primary responsibility will be to assess needs, gather essential information, and direct each query to the appropriate team or resource. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that those in need receive timely and accurate support, helping maintain smooth day-to-day operations within the Foundation’s support services.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Contact & Needs Assessment
- Inbound Enquiries: Respond to incoming calls, emails, or online requests, providing a welcoming and empathetic first point of contact.
- Information Gathering: Ask relevant questions to understand the nature of each enquiry—whether a client needs immediate fuel assistance, advice, or referral to another service.
- Basic Eligibility Checks: Perform preliminary assessments to confirm a caller’s eligibility or direct them to the right partner agencies.
Triage & Referral
- Case Prioritisation: Quickly identify urgent cases (e.g., no heating supply, extreme vulnerability) and escalate them as needed to senior colleagues or specialized services.
- Routing Calls/Emails: Forward complex queries or those requiring in-depth guidance to the appropriate department (e.g., Customer Support, Policy & Impact, Finance for voucher-related questions).
- Follow-Up Coordination: Log essential details for each interaction, ensuring smooth handovers and timely follow-up by the relevant team member.
Data Entry & Record Keeping
- Database Management: Accurately input beneficiary information into the Foundation’s CRM or case-management system, maintaining up-to-date records in line with data protection policies.
- Documentation: Keep clear notes on calls, emails, and web form submissions, tagging them with relevant categories (e.g., urgent, general enquiry, advice request).
- Reporting: Support team leads by generating basic reports or summaries on enquiry volumes, types of requests, or common issues.
Communication & Collaboration
- Liaise with Colleagues: Update other teams or managers about trends in call types or emerging issues that might require policy changes or additional resources.
- Team Support: Assist in scheduling, task delegation, or administrative tasks when needed, contributing to a well-coordinated triage function.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Occasionally interact with partner organisations, local agencies, or other charities to exchange referral information or confirm assistance protocols.
Quality & Compliance
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all internal guidelines, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (GDPR).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring enquiry patterns or potential service gaps, suggesting improvements to triage processes.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about any updates in the charity’s programs, fuel poverty regulations, or relevant partner services.

As we move closer towards assisted dying legislation across the British Isles, this role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile, fast-paced campaign that will provide plenty of challenges and opportunities for personal development.
Using your ability to prioritise, this role is made up of a varied set of objectives including finance-based tasks, supporting the fundraising function, database management and direct contact with our members, supporters and donors.

The first year of this role will include some enhanced responsibilities, providing maternity cover for the Project Manager role from October 2025.
The role will involve attendance at events around the UK, the post holder will work out of the main office in Castaway House and remotely. Training in the internal systems of the Naval Children’s Charity will be provided and access to other relevant training as required.
This is a full time role of 35 hours per week which may need to be worked over 7 days/weekends to accommodate attendance at events as required. About the role
This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in an ambitious and values-driven climate finance initiative. The Resilient Futures Fund, a new subsidiary of Christian Aid, is pioneering a bold approach to climate philanthropy, one that blends donor giving with impact investment to unlock long-term, scalable solutions for vulnerable communities.
As Senior New Business Development Officer, you will lead the development and implementation of The Resilient Futures Fund's philanthropic fundraising strategy, working closely with the Head of Fund and colleagues across Christian Aid. Your focus will be on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding a portfolio of high-value donors, ranging from individuals to philanthropic foundations and corporate partners, who are motivated not only by charitable impact, but by the opportunity to contribute to systemic, sustainable change.

COMMUNITY HUB LEADER

Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader at Woodview, Birmingham.
The post holder will lead the development of the Hub, situated on the periphery of central Birmingham, serving the community of the Woodview estate, supporting the Oasis Academy and wider local community. The role will hold the vision of integrated community delivery, which will include a range of projects such as family support, volunteering, advice and support, community events.
This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the hub charity, ensuring the youth and community work supports the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.
Some of the specific duties of this role include:
· Establishment and coordination of a range of services such as family support, holiday provision, volunteering and community empowerment projects.
· Building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.
· Leading strategic development (e.g. comms, income generation, MEL)
· Planning, resource and coordinate the community plan, measuring impact.
· Working closely with the academy safeguarding team on Early Help and family support.
· Developing a team that can grow an Oasis Movement (e.g. engaging staff, volunteers and community workers).
This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
