Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Group Work Facilitator to join the Children and Young People's Team delivering group support to young people affected by Domestic Abuse in High Schools across Lancashire. This is a temporary term time only contract working 9-5 Mon-Fri covering a maternity post.

About the role:

This role is based from either our Blackpool or Preston office. We are looking for a group facilitator to cover South and Central Preston, Wyre Fylde Lancaster and surrounding areas. You will be working primarily in targeted schools across your area and therefore you will need to be a car owner/driver.

As group work facilitator you will:

  • Lead & facilitate the group work program to children & young people in small groups within High Schools, who have experienced domestic abuse (8 groups per week).
  • Complete assessments with young people, identifying and addressing safeguarding concerns.
  • Proactively promote the service, raise awareness of services & work collaboratively with professionals to improve the access to and quality of services for children & young people
  • Be responsible for case management, report writing, outcomes recording and collecting other data.
  • Play a vital role in ensuring we provide high quality, end-to-end support to children & young people to help them to recover from abuse.

You will need: -

  • Considerable experience of working with children and young people, experience of delivering groups would be advantageous.
  • You will have a thorough understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on children and young people.
  • Experience of risk assessment and case management.
