The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the Finance Manager your role is to help make this a reality through the effective management of our financial processes. You’ll use your experience from other charity finance roles, along with your accountancy / financial management qualifications, to help ensure our approach to financial management is effective, efficient, up-to-date and in line with charity accounting standards. 

You will be well-organised and motivated to support the wider team in their work. Reporting to the CEO and supporting the Treasurer, you will ensure we have up-to-date information on the financial health of the organisation. You will help to ensure we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes. 

You will lead on ensuring we have robust organisational systems and processes in place for effective financial management. This includes the production and sharing of management accounts, ensuring payroll and invoices are paid on time, devising financial reports, and providing budgetary support. You’ll ensure that accurate records are maintained and that we are reporting our accounts in line with SORP guidelines. 

You will lead on the ongoing development and maintenance of our finance systems, policies and procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose for a growing organisation.

Who: We are looking for an experienced, self-starting Finance Manager for the Central Foundation Schools of London, a charity supporting two state schools in London, with investments and endowments in the region of £40m.

Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will be responsible through the CEO to the Board, for day-to-day management of the charity’s accounts and all financial operations. They will manage the financial record keeping, payroll, pensions, banking and oversee the tracking of Foundation’s investments and income. The postholder will provide accurate financial management information, including quarterly cashflow forecasting and management accounts and co-ordinating the annual budget setting process.  They will be responsible for preparing the annual accounts to the required standards and overseeing the annual audit process. They will also provide advice on a range of operational issues to ensure sound asset management, value for money and compliance with statutory requirements relevant to the charity’s financial operations. They will contribute to the shared leadership of the organisation including collaborating on the implementation of the Foundation’s strategy.

Our Work: For over 150 years, the Central Foundation Schools of London has supported two schools in inner London. Between them, the Girls’ School at Bow Road, Tower Hamlets and the Boys’ School is based in Cowper Street, Islington provide places to over 2,500 young people. Today, the Foundation continues to benefit students at these two schools while also supporting the schools to strengthen the opportunities, facilities and educational excellence for current and future students.

Our People: We are a small team with three part time staff managing the day to day work of the Foundation.  A Board of 18 trustees/directors volunteer their time and skills and collaborate closely with the small staff team. In 2022 the Board started a process of transformation and modernisation of the charity’s operations and processes. In 2023, alongside refreshing our governance, supporting two major building programmes and updating our financial operations, we established our first strategy addressing how we can best support the Schools over the next decade and more. 

The Role: To support the exciting opportunities presented by the new strategy, Central Foundation Schools for London are recruiting a permanent Finance Manager to provide professional management of the charity’s accounts, ensuring the charity’s operational effectiveness and efficiency, accurate financial management information and advice, preparation of the annual budget, management of our investment portfolio as well as compliance with statutory for the production of the Annual Statutory Accounts in compliance with latest SORP and legislation.

Experience: We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with good post-qualification experience with the ability to work independently and lead the charity’s financial operations.

Hours: Working 2 days a week, the appointed candidate will have the flexibility agree their working pattern with the chief executive. Ideally, the new Finance Manager would work Tuesday or Wednesday (or both) on site in the Foundation office when other staff members are also on site.

Our Offer: Salary £48,000 - £54,000 pro rata dependant on experience;b ased near Old Street, with flexibility in days/hours by agreement; enhanced employer pension with option to join from day 1; 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata); taining and development support, including support for continuing professional development.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, solution focussed finance professional to join our central team as Finance Manager. Used to taking day to day transaction processing in your stride, you’ll use your experience to support preparation of the management accounts and be part of ensuring that we have the business information needed for decision making across the charity. This is an exciting and varied role requiring an eye for detail and engagement across all departments within the organisation. The Finance Manager is a key role, responsible for the day-to-day finances and responding to queries as they arise for the organisation. Reporting to and working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will ensure the systems and procedures in place that safeguard the Charity and its subsidiary companies (ESC Catering Ltd and Royal Court Theatre Productions Ltd) are the most effective they can be. They will share the ambition and enthusiasm to enable and drive change in the department to meet the needs of this busy producing theatre that is constantly evolving. 

The Finance Manager line manages the Finance Assistant ensuring the transactional detail is accurately and efficiently processed in a timely manner. Working in a fully paperless operation the Finance Manager will take the lead on several of the systems used to produce all the records in Xero. The jobholder will also be a key player in producing for example: first draft Management Accounts, Catering accounts, departmental reports and help colleagues with analysis against budgets. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Knowledge of working with integrated IT systems such as Xero 

• A relevant finance qualification or 2 years’ experience and looking to work towards one 

• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a diverse workload

Oversight of accounting and cash management

Most of the detailed work in this section is undertaken by the direct reports with the oversight and management being provided by this Finance Manager role

· Appropriate recording, processing, coding, posting of all financial transactions – including but not limited to bank receipts and payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, conference fee income, invoicing, journal entries.

· Regular timely bank reconciliations.

· Invoicing and credit control

· Chart of accounts structure and department codes

HR Administration and Payroll

· Payroll - administration of and preparation of the payroll (Brightpay), including submissions in respect of HMRC and pensions.

· Management of staff holiday and sickness records

· Support of HR queries

Preparation of budgets and forecasts

· Management and preparation of the annual budget – including for example income (conference fees, product sales, advertising, onsite cafes), running costs (event production costs, team activity costs, honoraria) centralised costs (staff, overheads), departmental budgets (networking, marketing), capital and restricted funds etc.

· Update of forecasts as required with a target of quarterly reporting to Section Head budget managers and Director of Operations.

Reporting

· Management accounts/management information/data for regular quarterly report data as required including reporting on conference and product performance.

· Prepare year end accounts ready for review by Head of Finance.

· Reporting as required to review spending with department heads.

Management of the finance team

· Quarterly Reviews

Oversight of financial management at conferences

· Systems with appropriate controls for the money arrangements at the gates, cafes sales and customer services (for eg Day tickets, programmes, coffee etc)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to support 2 organisations (Basis Yorkshire and Women’s Counselling and Therapy) at management level to work with the CEOs and senior management teams to ensure that their goals are achieved through effective finance practices. The role will lead on financial management and direction of the organisational budgets, ensuring contract requirements for finance and performance reports are met, whilst ensuring regular updates are provided to effectively manage project budgets and expenses and offer insights into financial risks for the organisations while setting out key procedures to mitigate these and ensuring controls are set and adhered to. Our partner, an international charity, seeks an interim finance manager to support the international finance team. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with experience in preparing consolidated annual accounts, management accounts, whilst being hands on and taking on transactional elements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Day to day accounting and administration, including posting transactions; payment of suppliers and staff expenses; international bank transfers to overseas country offices; setting up and processing regular giving payments, and processing one off donations; banking; and process monthly payroll.
• Undertake reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including BVA analysis and summaries, and income and expenditure reports for budget holders.
• Prepare the annual consolidated accounts and financial statements, and support in the preparation of the annual audit, liaising with the overseas country offices.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with all-round experience working in a small team within an international charity. Experience of leading on the production of annual consolidated accounts as per charity SORP in the UK, management accounts & analysis, and managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks.
• Hands on, able to manage a varied workload.
• Strong business partnering skills, able to work with finance and non-finance staff in the UK and overseas offices, budget holders and liaise with third parties, including banks and auditors.
• Strong communication skills.

This is a part-time role (3-4 days/week), that can be done either remotely or hybrid, coming into the office 1 day/week. All candidates (even remote) must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship. This is a 6 month parental leave cover. An immediate start is preferred.

As the Institute’s Fundraising Manager you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to support the Institute’s strategic initiatives and operations, as well as maintaining the relationships and communities that drive long term funding. Key responsibilities & skills development opportunities: 

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation 

• Implement a robust fundraising strategy aligned with the Institute's mission and goals.

• Proven experience in fundraising preferably within the non-profit sector.

Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)

Location: Anywhere in the UK, we are a remote-first organisation

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have

• A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
• Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts
• Experience in managing funder relationships, and developing them into longer-term partnerships
• Strong research skills to help identify suitable prospects whose mission aligns with Parentkind
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

Refuge Manager 

Salary: £40,221, 5 days a week

The Refuge Manager post is instrumental in the delivery of care, a safe environment and a comprehensive package ofservices that meet the needs of the MENA women at risk of VAWG in our refuges. The post holder will be responsible formanaging IKWRO’s refuges and providing advice, advocacy, and casework support. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of IKWRO’s service users in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.
