As our next CEO, they’ll be joining a team of 22 colleagues in the UK and 6 Country Representatives in Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Malawi. Location: This role is contractually based in Central London; however, we currently operate a hybrid working model with regular whole team face to face meetings once a month. As a member of our Executive Team, you will be responsible for leading our finance, investment, and governance portfolios. The Role
Our goal is to recruit an experienced Director of Finance and Investment who will lead the finance and investment functions for the organisation. This will involve supervising strategic financial planning, including yearly and long-term budgeting and tracking, as well as delivering precise and timely financial projections. You will ensure the external audit and production of statutory accounts are delivered, keeping tight cashflow management, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS 102, Charity SORP, and other applicable standards and regulations.
Besides your financial duties, you will also oversee the investment portfolio of the organisation and its subsidiaries, run the treasury and investment system operations of Reall, deal with possible problems affecting debtors' repayment capacity, and comply with rules and regulations.
As a leader in this role, you will also be responsible for developing and implementing robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for the organisation and its subsidiaries, providing advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees, senior management, and other stakeholders on governance matters, and representing the organisation in external forums and networks related to governance, finance, and social impact.
You will also be responsible for supervising, coaching, and mentoring a team of finance professionals, promoting a culture of financial awareness and accountability across the organisation, representing the finance function in the senior leadership team and Trustees, and providing strategic advice and input on financial issues and decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Accountant qualification (ACCA, CFA, CCAB or equivalent) with at least 10 years of experience at a senior level
- Strong technical accounting skills, including experience of pulling together Group accounts & Consolidation
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Experience of managing a loan book or working in a charity or regulated for-purpose business
- Business partnering skills with the ability to raise the financial capacity of an SME
- A resilient, tenacious, flexible, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to motivate a team

Salary – £90,000 - £105,000 per annum dependent on experience
Working hours – Normal office hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are open to flexible working patterns subject to the objectives and outcomes of the role being met. About the role
The Director of Finance and Corporate Resources holds a key role in our organisation and is core to the senior management team. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources is responsible for finance, HR, facilities, and governance.
Managing a team of four (comprising a Financial Controller, Finance Services and Business Support Manager, HR Manager, and an Administrator) they are responsible for all ‘back office’ operations, providing the supporting infrastructure to ensure quality delivery of our work and mission.
You will work closely with the Chief Executive to lead the organisation through operational change. Investing in the right technological and finance infrastructure for The Young Foundation is overdue, and we are looking for a self-starting candidate with proven experience in digital transformation and change to increase efficiency, knowledge management, and reporting of vital management information. The Role
The Director of Finance and Operations is a key position within this nascent and highly exciting charity. Have an interest in one or both of the key areas of grant giving for the charity.

A Charity that supports young people are recruiting for a Financial Planning Business Analyst on an initial 9-month contract to support the implementation of a new budgeting and forecasting software tool. A National Museum renowned for housing once of the finest arts collections in the world is currently seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join the team for an initial 6 month period.
Reporting into the Director of Finance & Resources, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the organisation and is the first point of contract for internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and time financial reporting and produce monthly management accounts.
Duties will include the following:
- Preparation of all routine and ad hoc reports drawn from accounting records
- Production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
- Monthly reports for all budget holders
- Coding of all self-generated income, ensuring that recognition complies with the relevant accounting standards
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register (reconciliation performed annually as part of the year end process)
- Payroll reconciliation (payroll is performed by an external third party provider)
- Preparation of the annual budget and periodic reforecasts of budget throughout the year
- Monthly counting and banking of the donation boxes
- Regular monitoring of bank accounts and working capital

With over £30 million in grants awarded to date, JABBS is well-funded and supported by a dedicated administration team. Their key focus is on supporting women involved with or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system, addressing their multiple and complex unmet needs. They passionately believe in evidence-based grant-making and are committed to driving positive change.
Salary: £90,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid, ideally 3 days per week at JABBS HQ in Birmingham
Contract: Permanent, full time or reduced hours contract considered
