Scope of role
The Head of Programme & Organisational Development is also one of two Co-Leads of On Purpose London. As such, they are jointly responsible for the London Associate Programme in partnership with the Co-Lead of On Purpose London who focuses on Business Development & Community. We find this co-leadership model offers a useful balance of mutual support and challenge, role-modelling how we believe leadership should operate.
You would be part of our cross-organisational leadership team of six city leads and the CEO. This group is a source of valuable peer support and a forum in which to collaborate, coordinate and learn together, through which you will contribute to strategy and organisational development and lead and support specific cross-city improvement initiatives.
Whilst this role focuses on the On Purpose London programme delivery and organisational development, it is a collaborative role with shared responsibility for all of the London team and operations.
This role has the following primary responsibilities, which can be reviewed and shaped around the strengths of the successful candidate:

Motivate and empower the London team and foster a healthy team culture - Set vision and strategy for On Purpose London alongside the co-lead and in collaboration with the International CEO and other Cities. Ensure the health and sustainability of an impactful London Associate Programme - Work together with other City Leads and the international team to monitor, measure and improve the programme’s financial sustainability and impact, with a focus on overseeing London’s finances.

Improve ways of working to enable the team to embrace change and innovation - Develop and implement processes, practices, systems, and techniques to help strengthen performance and streamline operations. Foster a team culture which values flexibility, continuous learning, and openness to new ideas.

Support the development of Associates into impactful systems change leaders - Responsible for the overall quality of the Associate journey, envisioning and improving the Associate experience, and managing key moments including matching, induction and residential. Support Programme Delivery Manager in designing, planning and facilitating the training syllabus.

Build engagement with our wider ecosystem of trainers, mentors & coaches - Ensure the recruitment, onboarding, matching and ongoing management of coaches and mentors throughout the year to support Associates’ growth and development.

Lead the recruitment of high-calibre Associates from a diverse range of backgrounds - Oversee a rigorous assessment and selection process including scoring applications, training interviewers, interviewing candidates and managing the pipeline of potential candidates before and after offers.

The role of Supporter Care Manager is a vital role in our delivery of fundraising services to our client and is a new role created by splitting our current Database & Supporter Care Manager role into two separate roles. This role will focus on the quality of our donor journey, associated communications and the accuracy of our reporting in conjunction with our client’s Finance team.
The Supporter Care Manager will ensure that all processes for recording and thanking donations is accurate, timely and meets regulatory and reporting requirements, whilst providing a friendly and supportive donor experience. Assessing current processes, identifying, and implementing improvements in collaboration with the Database Manager will be a key focus. The successful applicant will have a passion for leading a team to deliver excellent supporter care and donor communications whilst working with and supporting the wider Fundraising team to deliver results for our client and their beneficiaries.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage the Supporter Care Officers and several Fundraising Volunteers - providing mentoring and training and completing performance and development reviews.
- Deliver excellent supporter care to our client’s donors and supporters and reporting to the wider Fundraising team.
- Ensure that the best donor experience and journey is in place across all income lines.
- Work closely with the Database Manager to identify and implement process improvements and where possible system automations.
- Ensure that individual processes are mapped out and that clear instructions and training are in place to mentor and support the Supporter Care team.

ALAG (Asperger London Area Group) has been a registered charity since 2015.
ALAG is a pan-London membership community organisation, supporting autistic adults without a learning disability. We work in partnership with statutory services and the voluntary sector to highlight the needs of autistic adults.

One such initiative is the Autism Hub which was established in 2018 in the London Boroughs of Islington and Camden.

You will be responsible for leading on delivering the charity's services, which includes managing and overseeing projects, policies and procedures within the organisation.

Director of Operations, Resilient Water Accelerator - WaterAid
Contract: Permanent, Full time, 35 hours per week

About the Team: The Director of Operations will play an integral leadership role in the Resilient Water Accelerator team. They will lead work to establish and deliver processes, governance, funding and operations for the Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA), and to oversee its development from a start-up being incubated within WaterAid to an independent, high-performing organisation. They will report directly into the RWA's CEO, shaping and delivering the future RWA as we evolve and grow to become an established, independent, successful organisation.
About the Role:
As our Director of Operations you will play an integral role in shaping and building this new initiative, creating its governance and processes, supporting its transition from start-up to implementation and in putting it on the path to independence. The RWA currently has 11 staff, based in 6 countries, and we have plans to build the team to around 18-20 over the next couple of years, to extend our delivery from 2 countries (currently Nigeria and Bangladesh) to 6, and to secure additional financing to complement the investment we have secured from the UK Government.
This is an exciting time to join the RWA as we move from our early inception phase to implementation and delivery. We are looking for someone who wants to help us shape and build the RWA in this next phase of work. In this role, you will create and lead the business operations for the team, making sure the RWA is able to deliver its full potential.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Business planning: lead work on annual business planning and the development of a 5 year plan, bringing in others in the team and externally to support this work and ensure buy-in. The plan will need to show how the RWA is delivering on funders' objectives as well as demonstrating how the RWA will work with new partners and expand and consolidate its operations, funding and impacts.
- Financial oversight: manage financial activities to ensure the strong performance of the RWA, including regular financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. The Director will manage the organisation's grant awards, reporting, accounts/audits and contracts with partner organisations, including procurement. They will support the CEO and others on fundraising, and will advise teams (including those in country) on budget availability to inform activities. They will need to work with WaterAid teams on all of these areas, and ensure compliance with WaterAid policies.
- Transition to independence: work with the CEO on plans for the RWA's independence from WaterAid, setting out and analysing options and making recommendations on structure, policies, governance, financing and timing, and overseeing the smooth transition from incubation within WaterAid to RWA being an independent not-for-profit organisation. The Director will need to consider legal, financial, governance, reputational, HR and other elements, seeking relevant external advice to ensure that the transition works for both the RWA and WaterAid. They will also advise on the creation of a Board and Advisory panel, and other relevant structures and relationships.
- Programme and project management: build out programme and project management for the RWA at both a global and country level, including internal reporting, updates and management of team's resources, and risks. Provide frameworks for effective decision-making and information management - including stakeholder databases; monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL); and knowledge management.
- Operational delivery: the Director will oversee the day-to-day internal operational activity of the RWA, and will need to deputise for the CEO in internal and external meetings. This will include shaping engagement with the current Steering Committee, setting team meeting agendas and preparing papers; overseeing recruitment; ensuring reporting to partners is delivered to time and quality; keeping track of contracts; overseeing due diligence; and working with Legal teams on core documentation such as contracts, NDAs and MOUs.
About You:
- At least 10 years' experience of designing and implementing appropriate organisational and operational governance structures, ideally including some time working for a small organisation, start-up or not-for-profit.
- Financial literacy, with experience of financial management in an organisation, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
- Strong relationship management skills with a range of NGO, government and private sector partners.
- Experience of working with geographically dispersed teams.
- An organised and structured approach to work, managing deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong communications skills with experience of preparing and presenting clear and timely information to internal and external stakeholders, and of assessing options and making recommendations.
- Able to work on own initiative, providing proactive advice and recommendations; comfortable operating with a degree of uncertainty and change.
- Ideally experience of setting up a new organisation, creating fit-for-purpose policies and helping teams to operate these.
- Ideally an interest and/or experience in development, sustainability and climate change.

What the job involves
We're looking for a Workplace Health and Safety Manager to join our vibrant charity. This is a diverse and interesting role. You’ll play a key role in the safe and smooth running of our office, compliance, health and safety as well as facilities administration. As a ‘go to’ Workplace manager at the charity you’ll spend a few days a week working out of our London Office. You’ll be the expert in your field and will help to train and coach others to ensure they meet legal requirements when running fundraising and volunteer events. The role manages a co-ordinator to assist in running our 1-floor office in London Bridge.
You’ll have input in developing our Health and Safety policies, risk assessments, and be available to investigate any incidents.
You’ll get to work with a number of colleagues from across the organisation – from supporting the People Team to plan inductions of new starters to helping the Experience Team plan office events.
As a manager, you’ll manage one co-ordinator and the budget for the department. You'll be a key contact with contractors and build our relationship with them. You'll manage processes for ordering supplies, arranging logistics of work from home equipment and purchase orders.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have extensive experience in workplace and health and safety roles or office facilities, supported by a recognised qualification. You’ll also proven experience in developing and implementing effective processes to embed a safe workplace culture.
You’ll be able to work unsupervised and be a creative thinker using your own initiative. This role requires proactivity, problem solving and prioritisation skills.
You’ll interact with lots of different people (internal and external stakeholders) on a daily basis and be an excellent communicator. You’ll be working with a diverse group of people and will need to be able to put across complex information in an understandable way. You’ll be able to create excellent working relationships with suppliers, building staff and charity colleagues.

The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support the Executive Director and senior leadership team to become more effective and strategic in their work. This prevents agricultural production, which is critical to Ukraine’s economy and global food security. Across seven regions, more than 1,000 local Ukrainian staff have already enabled the removal of more than 19,000 explosive items and the clearance of more 3.1 million m2 of land- bringing safety to communities and supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery.

About the role:
The HALO Trust has more than doubled in size over the last eight years by growing support from both Governments and philanthropic donors. Global income from philanthropic donors (including the US) has significantly increased over the past five years – from circa £4 million to £15 million in 2022/23 and reaching a further peak of £44 million in 2023/24 in response to exceptional donor support for Ukraine. Unpinning this is growth in six and seven figure partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations, initiated by our exceptionally well-connected network of trustees and ambassadors - and nurtured by our committed and professional global philanthropy team.

- An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with staff and colleagues in different cultural environments
- Outstanding written skills with the ability to work with programme and finance colleagues to design robust project proposals, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
- Confident in working with financial information including project budgets

Provide line management and oversight of the estate manager and maintenance team, ensuring that their work is prioritised and delivered within budget.
Responsible for the procurement functions of the Charity.
Oversee all relevant fire, health and safety and environment checks across the British Home ensuring that the charity remains compliant with its Health and Safety and other regulatory responsibilities (e.g., HSE, CQC, etc.).
Conduct periodic reviews of resident’s accommodation and communal areas in collaboration with the Home Manager to ensure that provision is up to standard and in line with resident’s needs.
External Contractors:
Manage the maintenance budget ensuring that all building works are delivered with the annual forecast and the charity receives value for money from its suppliers.
Maintain and review a schedule of contracts and service level agreements with all relevant contractors ensuring the continuity of all building, maintenance, and ancillary services without disruption to residents of the home.
Monitor the ongoing performance of external service/ building contractors and advise the Director of Resources and Chief Executive on the (re) procurement of maintenance, catering, and ancillary services, where applicable
Requirement to engage current stakeholders, as well as identifying and building new external relationships across a wide variety of stakeholder groups
Managing Staff:
Create an environment orientated to trust, open communication, and cohesive team effort.
Manage the ongoing performance and development of line reports including regular supervision and annual performance development reviews.
Conduct regular planning and monitoring of the maintenance team’s work schedule, ensuring that personnel and resources are deployed as efficiently as possible.
Referrals and Admissions:
Co-ordinate all referral and admission enquiries for new and prospective residents, ensuring that new referrals are processed swiftly and accurately to maximise resident occupancy within the Home.
Work closely with Home Manager to ensure room availability is communicated and new resident’s rooms are ready for admissions.
Supervise the collation and reporting of resident’s data for the monthly management report
