We host around 1000 meetings a year for major chairites and trusts. We run our own Retreat programme grounded in Christiian spirituality.

We are now recruiting a Finance Director (CCAB qualified) to oversee the financial aspects of this c£3m turnover charity with around 60 staff. The role is part of the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Master and is responsible for day to day financial operations, budgeting, management reporting, investment oversite, VAT and Tax. Payoll and HR admin - supervising one financial assistant. 

Ability to be hands on with financial processing - with a strong grasp of accounting systems (Sage Inacct) and interfaces. Budgeting, VAT and Management reporting expertise.. Management of audit and annual reporting cycle. Able to use financial data to encourage managers to make good commercial decisions.

Experience of hospitality sector desired. Experience of charity sector also desired.

The role

Responsibilities 

Financial & Grant Coordination

• Support Epic’s bi-annual grantmaking process, including but not limited to drafting and distributing grant agreements and archiving documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Support the management of daily financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Process supplier invoices, staff payments, and expense claims promptly and accurately.
• Assist with financial planning and analysis, including data collection and reporting.
• Support annual audit preparation by collating and organising required documentation.
• Help ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and internal controls.

Administrative & HR Support

• Assist with onboarding new staff and maintaining accurate HR records.
• Monitor and administer the stakeholder pension scheme, including auto-enrolment and monthly contributions.
• Record and update staff absences, including sick leave, TOIL, and annual leave.
• Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth organisational operations.

Organisational Engagement

• Support statutory reporting, including updates and submissions to Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Participate in key Sickle Cell Society events such as the Annual General Meeting and community workshops.
• Undertake ad hoc duties as required by the Finance & Administrative Manager.

We are seeking a purpose-driven and forward-thinking Director of Finance & Strategy with essential third sector experience, who is passionate about using their financial expertise to create meaningful impact and drive positive change in the world, while embracing technology and AI to strengthen, modernise, and evolve The Zahra Trust’s finance function.
This is a strategic leadership role that combines strong financial control with a clear focus on systems, data, and revenue insight. You will be responsible not only for financial governance, but also for building the infrastructure that enables the organisation to understand income performance, identify opportunities for growth, and respond quickly to changes in revenue.
You will also ensure that the organisation operates in line with charity finance regulations and best practice across all jurisdictions in which we operate.
You will play a central role in ensuring that financial data is accurate, accessible, and actionable — supporting decision-making across fundraising, marketing, and programme delivery.

Primary purpose of the role:

WECare’s Finance Officer will support the Head of Finance in the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, ensuring financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. The role will play a key part in maintaining financial transparency and strong financial controls across the organisation, particularly in managing donations, supplier payments, and internal financial processes. The successful candidate will bring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, while also being able to understand the wider goals of a mission-driven organisation and the importance of responsible stewardship of donor funds. As WECare continues to expand its programmes and impact, this role will support improvements to financial systems and processes, helping ensure the charity can scale effectively while maintaining strong financial governance.

The position is available for part-time 20-30 hours at the beginning with potential to grow to full time.

Our mission is to provide international standard veterinary care for less fortunate animals around the world, starting in Sri Lanka. We aim to change the outlook for street dogs worldwide, with 75% of the globe’s dog population going without access to healthcare. Key responsibilities:

1. Financial Administration:

• Manage the finance inbox and respond to finance-related queries

• Record supplier invoices and maintain accurate financial records

• Ensure correct coding of expenditure across departments and projects

• Reconcile company credit cards and other financial transactions

2. Financial Reporting:

• Support the Head of Finance with preparation of management accounts and year end accounts

• Assist in preparation of year-end financial information and audits

• Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls and reporting standards

3. Accounting :

• Work within accounting platform to maintain organised and auditable financial records

• Assist with system improvements and financial data migration between software platforms, convert transactions between currencies where required

• Process and reconcile daily donations received by the charity and maintain accurate records of donor income

• Support preparation and submission of Gift Aid reports

Key Attributes:

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Experience in a finance, accounting, or bookkeeping role

• Experience working with accounting systems such as Xero or Sage

• Ability to work effectively with both remote and onsite teams.

• Proactive and self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
