We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.
The purpose of the role
This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.
Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.
Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with the NT’s database, Tessitura, and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. With excellent attention to detail, this role also undertakes due diligence research into potential funders to assess any risks to the NT of accepting funds. This role also manages the Development Operations Assistant, who leads the day-to-day administration of the Development database.
The role has scope to offer insights across the whole Development team and NT senior management, and would suit a strong collaborator with enthusiasm for the work of the NT.
The successful candidate will have the following:

Duties and key responsibilities:
Office Maintenance
- Oversee the general maintenance of the office.

Position Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of related work experience in major gifts fundraising or in the field of marketing and communications, preferably at a non-profit advocacy organisation.
- A proven track record of bringing in major donations of six-figure sums.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
- A practical understanding of fundraising, GDPR and charity regulation.
- Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary band £37,000-£40,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only).

As Fundraising Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring our supporters receive a positive and rewarding experience, as well as providing administration support for the fundraising team, including assisting on events and campaigns.
We are looking for a motivated, confident individual with strong organisational skills and an impeccable attention to detail, who is passionate about fundraising and our ambition and purpose. The successful applicant will be expected to have a broad understanding of a range of income generation methods and communication styles, and the charity sector.
You will play a key role in attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters including individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, and volunteers. From initial enquiries to fundraisers and doners, to taking responsibility for our thanking, you will look after our complete supporter care journey and ensure that the Foundation provides an exceptional experience for our supporters.
You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club, providing support to the rest of the Fundraising and Engagement Team as required. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role. Previous experience is desirable, not essential, and the right candidate will be given scope for career progression and additional responsibilities as we grow.
Key responsibilities
- Act as main point of contact for supporters and donors, responding to enquiries in a timely manner
- Provide fundraising support to those raising money for the Foundation, including challenge event participants, schools, clubs, and community fundraisers
- Assist in the delivery of matchday activity for the Foundation, primarily through our 50/50 Raffle and other activations that raise funds and awareness of our purpose
- Support the Events Manager and Head of Fundraising and Engagement in the delivery of Foundation events
- Support our growing portfolio of challenge events, researching opportunities for the Foundation supporters to raise funds, and delivering exceptional supporter care to ensure we maximise these opportunities and build relationships with our fundraisers
- Assist the Head of Fundraising and Engagement in the development and delivery of a community fundraising programme
- Maintain and update donor records on our fundraising database
- Manage the administration and fulfilment of auction and other fundraising prizes, being the main point of contact for donors and relevant partners and ambassadors

Qualification and experience
- Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a professional environment in a similar, admin or events-based role
- Excellent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems and project management tools

- Able to evidence experience of building excellent relationships and a confidence in networking and proactively communication with a range of stakeholders

We support families across London, Surrey and Sussex whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. We’re there whatever the outcome, for as long as needed, so that no family has to cope alone.

Main Purpose of the Role
The main objectives of the Corporate Fundraising Manager role is to lead the Corporate Partnerships programme; sourcing, developing and sustaining funding partnerships with a wide range of companies. This is a senior and hands-on role. You will take responsibility for developing and sustaining your own portfolio of corporate partners working with them to secure significant funds.
Main Areas of Responsibility
• Implement a corporate strategy which increases income and the number of corporate partners to exceed targets and build the pipeline for future years.
• Provide line management support to the corporate fundraiser(s), including setting objectives, key performance indicators and carrying out appraisals.
• Secure new business support from companies, taking a strategic and proactive approach to new business development.
• Develop creative and compelling new business pitches, presentations and proposals for a range of corporates including COTY applications, CRM, beneficiary events and cross organisational offers, working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing.
• Develop a dense pipeline of corporate partnership prospects, with a potential focus on locally-based large companies as well as national organisations who consider local charity partnerships.
• Identify and secure opportunities through proactive relationship development and peer to peer introductions.
• Maximise corporate income through exemplary stewardship and strategic development of existing and new corporate partners, including account management, developing and implementing account plans, new ideas and opportunities for income generation.
• Manage income and expenditure budgets to ensure annual targets are met, providing regular reports to the Director of Fundraising & Marketing.
• Manage and oversee the administration linked to corporate fundraising, ensuring information is entered and updated accurately onto Salesforce.
