This is an excellent opportunity to join our busy Finance team and develop your skills in one of the UK’s leading conservation charities. This role arises in order to support the Finance Systems Replacement project which is a Board priority and a major digital change project.

In order to facilitate this we are looking for additional support in our Financial Control Team. We are looking for a strong technical professional, whose financial expertise and specialist knowledge are a given. The main purpose of the role is to provide technical financial accounting support, with a focus on, but not limited to VAT, gift aid and corporation tax, preparation of statutory accounts, to ensure that RSPB and its related group entities comply with a range of regulatory and external stakeholder reporting requirements and specific project requirements related to the implementation of the new finance system. 

What's the role about?

You will be part of a team of professionals reporting to the Financial & Treasury Controller.

As part of a team of 5 your main duties will be to:

• Deal with VAT, Gift Aid and corporation tax enquiries, produce returns, etc.
• Be involved in the preparation of the Trustees’ Report and Accounts (including subsidiary and related entities); This involves co-ordinating input from the wider Finance team as well as liaison with the Communications and Corporate Governance and Risk teams to provide an integrated narrative that clearly articulates RSPB’s impact and the challenges it faces.
• Liaise and provide information to internal and external audit.
• Help manage and reconcile the fixed asset system with particular focus on getting the fixed asset data ready for accurate transfer to new finance system.
• Financial analysis and technical reporting including government statistics returns

With an income of over £170m per annum and 1.15 million members the RSPB combines worldwide charitable impact with a substantial commercial operation. Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Fully qualified accountant or part qualified in final year of exams.
• Good working knowledge of the rules, regulations and standards in respect of tax legislation (VAT and Gift Aid), preferably for the charity sector.
• Good working knowledge of the rules, regulations and standards in respect of financial reporting (Accounting standards and company law) preferably for the charity sector.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate financial data.
• Ability to communicate financial information to both a finance and non-finance audience.
• Experience within a medium sized organisation (Income £50m+) of preparing reports/returns for external stakeholders including Tax returns (VAT, Gift Aid and corporation tax), Annual Reports and Annual Returns (Charity Commission, Government agencies).

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Experience of accounting software within a medium sized organisation.
• Experience of communicating with HMRC and other regulatory bodies.
• Experience of communicating with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, trustees and directors.

Additional information:

• The role can be hybrid within the UK however you may be periodically required to attend our HQ finance office at RSPB HQ in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

Role Description 

The Fundraising Manager plays a key role in supporting the mission and ministry of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by leading and delivering a range of fundraising activities. This includes managing relationships with Patrons and donors, organising high-profile events such as the Patrons’ Carol Service and The Grand Nave Dinner, coordinating legacy giving, and supportingmajor initiatives such as the Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn project. The role also involves maintaining accurate donorrecords using the Cathedral’s CRM system (Donorfy), identifying new funding opportunities, and ensuring all fundraising iscarried out with professionalism, integrity, and in accordance with Cathedral values and data protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Patrons

• Manage relationships with existing Patrons by responding to enquiries, writing and distributing the quarterly Patron e-newsletter, and creating and sending invitations to Patron events.
• Organise, coordinate, and deliver Patron events to a high standard, including the Patrons’ Carol Service, Spring Trip,and Summer Garden Party.
• Track Patron membership status, monitor renewal dates, and send timely renewal reminders.
• Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure all Patron income is accurately recorded.
• Increase the number of Cathedral Patrons by actively developing relationships and expanding networks

.Donor Acknowledgement and CRM Management

• Maintain accurate donor records in the fundraising CRM database, Donorfy, including donation history andengagement activity.
• Provide reports and analysis from Donorfy as required.
• Acknowledge Patron renewals and thank donors appropriately, either with a personal email or a letter from theDean, depending on the level of contribution.

Support for Major Fundraising Initiatives

• Assist the Fundraising Consultant with the ‘Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn’ project, supported by the National LotteryHeritage Fund.
• Responsibilities include prospect identification, donor cultivation, coordination of fundraising meetings, receptions,and lunches, and general administrative support such as drafting grant applications.
• Support research and cultivation of new fundraising prospects, including high-net-worth individuals, grant-makingtrusts, and their networks.

Legacy and Appeals

• Support the delivery of the legacy giving strategy, helping to secure gifts in wills.
• Assist in the administration and delivery of the biennial ‘Gift Day’ fundraising appeal.
• Plan and deliver a large-scale bi-annual fundraising event, ensuring it meets fundraising targets and reflects the valuesand aims of the organisation.

We are looking for an individual who shares these values for the role of Operations Manager; to oversee the day-to-day running of our services, leading and supporting the volunteers to do this, ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety & food hygiene standards, support the Project Director to achieve agreed outcomes and goals.

We are currently looking at expanding our services by adding an additional service day a week on Tuesdays. This role provides the unique opportunity to be a part of the creation of this service.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality services to the women and their children living in our refuges and survivors of domestic abuse supported by our community outreach service.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.

Our service provision in Derby includes culturally specific service for South Asian women as well as a specialist multiple disadvantage support worker who support survivors facing enhanced needs.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based and the outreach service staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges and the outreach service always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant criminal and civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with staff that support survivors and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse and other gender-based violence.

About the role

This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Charity Shop Manager to join our team at our Exeter-based charity.

This new role will combine providing support and/or absence cover to our existing shops, along with getting involved in other opportunities for growth and development across the retail team (e.g. volunteering). Working in the shops may involve working to support the shop manager, or stepping in for them at short notice (and quickly getting to grips with their shop, processes, staff, volunteers and customers). This will be balanced according to business needs.

The nature of this role means that you will need to be capable of both leading or being part of a team consisting of shop assistants and volunteers.

There will also be times when you will be working on your own or with our Head of Retail and Enterprise at our Exeter base. The most important thing is that you will be helping us to achieve and exceed business targets for sales, growth and profits.

You will be comfortable with both acting as shop manager, and supporting the existing shop team, depending on the situation.

You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and customer care skills and be a person who motivates their team and creates a safe and energetic working environment.

There is a need to travel to different shops in Exeter and East Devon (depending on business needs) so a driving licence and willingness to drive InFocus vehicles is important.

You might be working in the charity sector already, or bring strong technical experience delivering virtual events or online membership networks from other sectors. You don’t need to have a background in healthcare.

You’ll join a close, 16-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK, made up of experienced clinicians, sector-leading project and event managers, and specialists in evidence and research. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Paths for Everyone Strategy to shape and develop the future vision for the National Cycle Network in across Scotland.

As Network Development Manager for NCN Planning, you will work closely with councils and partners to identify and initiate a range of projects that will fix and grow the National Cycle Network in Scotland. You will undertake and assist in the population of the project pipeline across Scotland by determining projects for investment, managing them through the feasibility stage and liaising with local authorities and other partners to agree design proposals.

Contributing to Paths for Everyone, your day-to-day work will involve dealing with network queries from the public, councils, and interest groups so you will build and manage internal and external relationships.

This role will require travel and work at locations across Scotland as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have experience of transport planning or a related subject, effective negotiation skills and experience in working with stakeholders and the public sector.

You will be skilled in advocacy, project management and implementation. You will have the ability to research and produce reports, as well as being able to coordinate activities with the wider NCN team and across the organisation.

About The Role
We are recruiting for an Events Fundraising Manager within the Third Party and Organise Your Own (OYO) team. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.

This is an amazing opportunity to join our sector leading Third Party & Organise Your Own (OYO) team in a key managerial position. As Events Fundraising Manager, you’ll guide and inspire a talented and motivated team to deliver some of the UK’s most exciting fundraising events, contributing towards an ambitious £12M income target for 2025/26.

From strategic planning to on-the-day delivery, you’ll lead and project manage some of our highest value third party event programmes, including London Marathon and the Great Run Series. You’ll bring together internal stakeholder groups to maximise opportunities for recruitment, supporter engagement and income generation. Working closely with our Events Marketing, Media, Press & Celebrity and Participant Experience teams, you’ll take a test and learn approach to innovate marketing campaigns, refine supporter journeys, and build exceptional relationships with event organisers and suppliers.

Managing four direct reports, each with their own event portfolio, you’ll build and role model a culture of excellence in supporter experience, marketing delivery, and partnership management, ensuring every event makes a lasting impact. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role where you can use creativity, leadership, and strategic thinking to make a real difference for people affected by dementia.

About you

As an experienced project manager, you’ll bring people together, spot opportunities, streamline processes, and drive efficiencies that maximise income.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing creativity with data driven insight, and you’ll lead by example, motivating those around you to deliver innovative marketing and stewardship strategies. Above all, you’ll share our determination, compassion, and commitment to delivering the very best experience for every supporter while raising vital funds for people affected by dementia.

What you’ll focus on:

- Project managing our official charity partnership with the AJ Bell Great Run series in 2026 and 2027.
- Project managing our internal stakeholder working group for London Marathon.
- Line managing 3 Events Fundraising Officers and 1 Events Fundraising Coordinator.
- Contributing to monthly management accounts, rolling reforecast and high-level budgeting for 26/27.
- Supporting on the day delivery of our Third Party and Bespoke Events throughout the year.
- Collaborating with teams, stakeholders and suppliers effectively.

Pensions

Annual Leave

Travel to the surrounding Community Treatment Centres will be required on an adhoc basis to improve your understanding and requirements of the role.
