The role

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full-Time (35 hrs per week)

Place of work: Hybrid, with a requirement to attend the office in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, once a month and 4 times a year for our mandatory All Staff Together days.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for our mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days.

The role

As Partner Engagement Manager you will promote the work of Family Fund and maintain a positive profile within the disability sector in Northern Ireland and with key Government/political stakeholders.

You will undertake a range of public affairs and policy activities that help sustain and grow our government funding and that secure positive outcomes for disabled children and their families. You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.

You will also identify growth/income opportunities and feed through to relevant internal teams, providing follow up support, as required.

Are you passionate about choral singing and its power to change the lives of children and young people and can you successfully advocate on our behalf to potential major donors?

The primary focus for the new role is to generate sustainable charitable giving from individuals, maintaining and growing our Friends memberships and developing significant income from major donors. We will also welcome input on stewardship of trusts and foundations if this is also your area of expertise.

We are a leading choral singing organisation and run residential summer courses for children and young people. Our artistic director, Ralph Allwood, founded the organisation 45 years ago, since when over 10,000 young people have benefited from our life-changing courses. Nowadays, around one third of students receive generous bursary support to attend a course and we also work with a range of partner organisations to encourage even more young people from diverse backgrounds to take part in our choral singing courses. We want to secure the future of the organisation and increase the number of students we can support by significantly growing our individual  giving.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to work up to 2 days per week on a freelance basis to help us move up a gear or two in terms of our fundraising, specifically to develop private giving from our extensive alumni network and the many successful individuals who feel music education at a young age made them the person they are today.

We have an office in central London but the job can be done remotely with occasional meetings with the General Manager, either in person or virtually.

Position: Head of Development, Friends and Major Donors

Main goal: To launch our 45th anniversary year development appeal and manage fund raising through individual giving, Friends memberships and legacy donations and pledges, growing our charitable income in line with our strategy. 

About this role:

The main duties and responsibilities for the Heads of Development role are as follows:

INDIVIDUAL GIVING

· Maintain and build relationships with our donors, and identify new individuals who would like to see the Rodolfus Choral Foundation thrive

· Use our extensive alumni list to source and maintain donors

· Use contacts from the artistic director and trustees to generate new donors

·  Ensure that our top and potential donors are well looked after and researched, passing on key information to the Artistic Director and, where appropriate, arranging meetings between him and our donors

· Organise and co-host special donor events in unique venues

· Plan and help organise membership events for donors

· Help establish a legacy giving scheme for Rodolfus

· Have overall responsibility for reaching individual giving targets

· Ensure that data is accurately kept in our database in line with GDPR, and is harnessed to support our fundraising efforts

STRATEGIC PLANNING & REPORTING

· Develop a five-year Fundraising Strategy

· Set ambitious but achievable targets for each year, within the overall Rodolfus budget

· Contribute new ideas and find new opportunities for fundraising

· Produce quarterly fundraising updates for the Trustees

· Produce a fundraising report for the annual accounts, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development in the Fundraising Strategy

TRUSTS AND GRANT-MAKING BODIES

· Liaise with the General Manager to ensure a coordinated fundraising plan and targets, in keeping with the artistic vision for Rodolfus

· Proof and submit applications and be the point of contact for Trusts and Foundations (this work is currently supported by the General Manager and a fundraising consultant)

GENERAL

· Attend Team and Board meetings as required

· Be a passionate advocate at all times for Rodolfus

· Adhere to all legal requirements relating to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as all other company policies and procedures

So, we are looking for an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to join our small UK team to help us manage an increasing number of donations.

This is a varied role which will offer the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, including bank reconciliations, financial and performance reporting, some data upkeep and systems improvements. You will need to be good at juggling competing priorities, well-organised with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)

Finance (~80% of role)

• Carry out weekly bank reconciliations using Xero.

• Maintaining records of expenditure, processing monthly expenses, paying invoices.

• Prepare HMRC Gift Aid claims and maintain records of Gift Aid donations and payments.

• Assist with annual external financial audits.

• Import bank transactions onto CRM database and ensure donations are assigned to correct conservation projects.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts and annual budgets.

Administration (~20% of role)

• Maintain all accounts on UK portals (Benevity, Charities Aid Foundation, etc) and process, track and reconcile all portal donations, soft crediting these where necessary.

• Suggest changes or improvements to both financial and administrative processes (including automations) to increase accuracy, efficiency and potential cost reductions, then implement where agreed.

• Support with HR administration - keeping personnel and Trustee files up to date, keeping records of sickness, holidays and other absences, drafting new policies.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and the successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. As Direct Marketing Manager (Retention), you will: 

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of DEC’s segmentation, in order to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals

As a Individual Giving Manager you will

• Lead on the development and implementation of an effective programme to develop supporters using a range of channels, including but not limited to direct mail, telemarketing, DRTV and digital, and products including cash, raffle, regular giving, weekly lottery. 

• Assist the Senior Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement an effective development strategy in order to maximise the lifetime value of supporters and the long-term sustainable net income raised for Barnardo's.

• Working in a fundraising environment, specifically in direct marketing and across different channels.
• Delivering campaigns using a project management approach.

This role will lead on the marketing of faith content on digital platforms across the organisation, seeking to maximise opportunities for engagement in discipleship and evangelism, establishing innovative strategies that enable church members and those exploring faith online to deepen their Christian experience.

The Volunteer Engagement Manager forms an integral part of our Retail management team, working closely with our shop management and HR teams. They will be responsible for recruiting, organising and coordinating the charity’s volunteers and our volunteer programme – working with our shop managers to develop their skills to drive recruitment, improve retention, and ensure we have the right number of volunteers in the right locations to support our work.

Deliver recruitment targets by shop to ensure we have sufficient volunteers and volunteer hours to support our financial objectives

Support the onboarding of our volunteers for various retail roles

Engage our volunteer team with Fight for Sight’s work and help them to understand the value of their contribution

Maintain an empowered, well trained, motivated and engaged volunteer team with excellent communication at team and individual level

Attend in-person recruitment events to engage with our volunteering communities.

Work alongside our Retail HR lead to schedule and deliver online training sessions, to ensure volunteers are well-prepared and confident in their roles

Work closely with the shop managers to grow relationships with volunteers and to demonstrate outcomes and the value and impact of volunteering activities.

Support our shop managers to maintain accurate records of volunteer activities and hours, ensuring compliance with all legal and organisational requirements.

This new role will sit within The Royal Foundation’s in-house Research & Impact Team, which provides research and evaluation expertise and delivers key insights across our programmes of work, to help design and deliver programmes and understand impact. Core Responsibilities:

• Scope, commission, and manage evaluation projects to generate actionable evidence for commissioning and service delivery, ensuring effective supplier, project management, and contractor relationships
• Monitor project progress to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery of high-quality evaluations, meeting objectives and adhering to policies
• Collate evaluation and programme data for organization-level impact reports
• Analyse research data and conduct desk research to support the Homewards programme team in scoping future activities
• Provide day-to-day support to the Senior Research and Impact Manager in overseeing research and evaluation across the Homewards programme
• Disseminate evidence effectively through various channels and support the interpretation and application of learnings to a wide range of stakeholders

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in developing procurement materials and briefing external suppliers, managing research commissions, and ensuring quality and compliance with financial and contractual requirements

Global Programme Manager (Lebanon)

The Programme Manager is an exciting and influential role at RCPCH Global, a specialist unit within the College, in which you will lead the management of our Early Child Development and Disability programme work in Lebanon and the wider Middle East region; you will also be responsible for supporting smaller programme development with our partner, the Paediatric Association of Sierra Leone. Based in our London office, you will oversee the implementation of the programmes, including the delivery of high-quality programme activities.

As Programme Manager, you will monitor and manage all financial and budgetary aspects of the programme in compliance with donor requirements and take the lead on all programme reporting to donors, maintaining and ensuring high-quality programme monitoring and evaluation processes are adhered to. You will also provide strategic/backstopping technical support on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programme design, budget formulation, financial and activity reporting and M&E with the other members of the Global Team.

Crucially, you will be responsible for liaising with local programme counterparts and stakeholders in the field, which may include regular field visits. You will also take the lead on the recruitment and management of short- and/or long-term programme volunteer clinicians, as well as short-term advisory consultants, for the programme.

You will lead, with the Global Team members, on wider donor liaison, including development of fundraising strategies and target donor institutions, and you will help develop new programme grant agreements, as well as promoting RCPCH Global activities to external stakeholders.

Suitably qualified in international development, public health, international and global health, health systems strengthening and child health, or with equivalent work experience, you should have excellent project/programme management skills and have a background in a relevant international/development management or implementation role. 

With demonstrable experience of designing, initiating and leading complex programme development processes, including with senior government counterparts, local partner organisations and international and multilateral donor agencies, you should have a significant understanding of budget management and financial reporting, including to bilateral and multilateral donors.

Previous experience of successfully managing large complex programmes, including supporting field-programme teams both remotely and in the field, within the international development and/or health sectors is essential, in particular with experience in working with Palestinian communities both in-situ in the West Bank and Gaza, and in other refugee camp environments as well as broader experience of working in developing countries is highly desirable.

Although based in London, this role may include some travel to Lebanon and other countries/regions as required. 

RCPCH Global is a unit within RCPCH which designs and manages a range of international projects and programmes to improve neonatal, child and adolescent health, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Our programmes use teams of skilled clinicians and other health professionals to work with counterparts in targeted low-income countries to train and mentor doctors, nurses and other health workers, as a means of helping to build the capacity and quality of the health systems in those countries. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Working two days per week, the role ensures the smooth running of core finance processes, including bookkeeping, payroll coordination, and management accounts. A key focus of the role is to maintain continuity of financial procedures and documentation to enable a smooth handover and seamless return for the permanent postholder.

About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London's bankside.

Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.

In 2024, the Centre was visited by over 13,500 people, we hosted 700 events joined by 9,500 participants.
